A player’s first encounter with modded cars in GTA Online is like seeing a unicorn. They may have gone to the LS customs to show off a new car they were able to buy following the GTA Online Money Grinder’s Guide 2023 XBOX X|S / PS5. But when they arrive the craziest automobile they ever did see leaves them in a state of flabbergast.
In this guide, we will talk about how to grow your collection of modded cars, because there is a smart way to go about it. This guide will discuss the origin, features, and purchasing of modded cars in GTA Online to make the player a connoisseur of shopping for these vehicles.
Merge Glitches Are Used to Create Modded Cars
The introduction of the Arena War DLC in 2018 inadvertently gave birth to a method that still goes by the name “merge glitching”. This type of exploit violates Rockstar’s terms of service since they can also serve as money glitches. But we all followed that guide and are rich so there is no need for merging cars to sell.
There have been other merge glitches since the first one. But I won’t help you break the rules, only buy modded vehicles from other players.
With merge glitches, players can apply wheels from Benny’s and F1 cars to vehicles that are not regularly able to have access to these mods. People also still had cars with North Yankton license plates and found they could also be transferred to other cars using this method.
These hustlers got imported into GTA Online from story mode years ago through glitches. This gave players access to Yankton plates.
The nature of this glitch is selecting upgrades on one car to overwrite onto another stock vehicle. And pretty much anything goes here, that is why the results are often so wild. And since real people make these modded cars, encountering duplicates in trading sessions is uncommon.
People began using these glitches (which I cannot show because Rockstar may get mad) to create vehicles with all the parts they desired on them to merge with other cars. From this update on, people who make these modded cars have enjoyed the rides for themselves, and modded cars have been present in GTA Online. Then comes along the Los Santos Car Meet in 2021 joined by the buddy vehicle purchase feature that started a modded car black market trade. Now anyone with lots of cash can buy any modded car as long as they can befriend the person who will sell it to them.
Group Posts
On the topic of meeting blacksmiths who specialize in modded cars, we are going to employ the use of the group post function of whatever console you play on. Make a group post with the title “LCSM Buy/Sell” and use that “adults only” tag if you’re a 20-year-old man like me who has no business playing with squeakers.
We want as many folks in this party as possible, more people means more chances for crazy pickups. These parties don’t ever get too rowdy either, I’ve joined at least 20 full invite-only sessions where players are trading modded cars in an LCSM takeover and it is always calm.
Once the Avengers assemble in a game, having the proper eye for what to buy is just as important as knowing where to get the good stuff. Don’t be a stingy gatekeeper when interacting with trader groups and treat the takeover like a potluck where everyone brings something of value.
Chameleon paint can also be put on modded rims.
Clean Modded Cars
Not all Modded cars are worth your time. I’m taking into account that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What I like is something you may not like, and this is okay. But we are in this game for “Clean” cars as opposed to “Scratched” ones
Many modded cars on F1s have better wheel fitment than their stock counterparts.
What makes modded cars clean is the fact that several elements of the whip are “unselected”. When F1 or Benny’s wheels are put onto a car, the wheels become unselected. When the Yankton plates go on a car, the license is also unselected. Unselected windows are transparent and have a green hue, and crew color paint jobs are unselected as well. Change any of these three things after a car is merged and the windows lose the green color profile becoming limo-tinted on their own. Limo-tinted windows or any of the three other elements getting tampered with means the car is “scratched”. Many traders will show no interest in scratched cars.
Collectors of modded cars will eventually own a vehicle that is like the “crowned jewel” of their collection.
Aside from this, most cars come with other bells and whistles like the Halloween-themed car horn, or the patriot tire smoke. These are also nice to have but do not make or break my decision to buy a modded car. As long as you aren’t buying scratched, everything is on the table.
All white vehicles actually favor the look of limo-tinted windows. It all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.
Benny’s/ F1 Wheels
These different types of wheels can completely reimagine whatever car they are on. Especially F1 wheels since they change the driving experience of any car they are on drastically.
Vehicles on F1s are fun to drive because they are much slidier and less grippy than regular wheels.
It is worth having several of the same car just to experiment with its F1 wheel variant. Benny’s wheels function the same as stock ones since the tires are no different but they are quite dapper.
Benny’s rims look super elegant. The revolter is also such a nice car to buy modded.
They look very expensive and add to most cars from an optics standpoint. It is worth spending another 3-4 million dollars to repurchase some cars just to own them with these wheels. Is Owning Modded Cars a Bannable Offense?
Honestly, I don’t know. So many people as there are trading modded cars in 2023. Rockstar would have to wipe out a significant portion of its console player base to contain this market. And they won’t do this because they haven’t in five years since Arena War dropped.
Maybe there is risk for the people who make the cars. But for the rest of us, we are just using a feature Rockstar put into GTA Online. This takes a lot of the heat off our backs.
I love these cars so much.
I would still be wary of filling up tons of garages with these vehicles. Because it will not look good if a player submits a ticket to Rockstar or goes under review. They will see that there are literally parts missing from all of your cars. At this point all you’d be able to say is sorry.
