As with the first "Top 10 Skyrim Player Home Mods" article, this one also aims to help you find the absolute best home mods for Skyrim so you can roleplay a multitude of different characters and keep your game fresh. Want to be a regular ol' citizen? Sure. How about a rich landlord? Or maybe a king? Mods got you covered.
Starting the list small we have the White river cottage house mod. This cozy house just outside Riverwood area is the perfect little place for a more lore-friendly character with which you roleplay a regular ol' joe or perhaps a richer landlord who's come to his summer retreat. Don't be fooled by the small size as this house comes equipped with a kitchen, lounge, master bedroom, followers bedroom, children’s bedroom, smithing facilities, crafting facilities, alchemy and enchanting areas and a large multi-purpose relaxing room with a pool.
9. RADUN CASTLE
Going from a regular joe to a vassal. Radun castle is a perfect little, lore-friendly and believable two-tier settlement. It's not just believable in the confines of Skyrim but also the real world as the place was created with functionality and the ability to withstand attacks in mind. To that end, it features guards, a motte-and-bailey and even a working drawbridge. Besides that, it has all the NPC, merchants and housing options you could need as a proud owner of this awesome place.
Halamshiral is a beautiful little wizard tower located in a swampy area near solitude. Aside from a unique exterior and a guardian dragon the interior is a perfect fit for a bookworm mage and is jam-packed with little details and all the features you'd expect from a home like display spaces for unique items, a follower and even custom music when inside.
Antennaria is a overgrown cavern temple home. Don't let the cave part fool as it is entered via a bridge in front of a waterfall and feature a tower on one of the best locations in Skyrim for some gorgeous views. The interior itself is one of the most atmospheric home mods to ever grace your game. It's packed not only with lush vegetation but beautiful architecture with all the rooms expected of a great home.
Get in touch with nature and roleplay a multitude of characters with Elisdriel tree house. Whether you want to be a druid, archer, wood-elf or a mage, this insanely detailed and atmospheric tree house has something for all. Whichever one you decide, you'll have a beautiful little abode to situate yourself in.
Sovngarde sure is an awesome place but don't you just hate it that you spend a minuscule amount of time there? Sure, it's meant to be a special little slice of the game that can't be repeated quite easily. However, if you are anything like me, you're gonna want to eat another piece of that cake. Luckily, Dragon mountain hall brings Sovngarde to you and puts it on top of the tallest mountain in Skyrim for you to enjoy as your player house. I can't imagine a more fitting place for a savior of the world to live.
Whitestone spire is a player home located at the top of a peak east of Markath. A unique dragon palace on the outside and a lavish designer home on the inside featuring a very original use of Skyrim assets to bring this really standout player home to life.
Aemer's refuge is a beautiful stone player home carved in the side of a mountain. Not only is it expertly made in terms of room placement but it's also insanely atmospheric and features some of the best unique features in a player home like portals, lifts, friendly summonable spirits and even a hidden vault for you to discover and reveal its secrets.
Remember Oblivion? How it had those pesky Ayleid palaces scattered about and you just knew that if you enter – you're probably not getting out for the next hour since it was basically a maze-like death trap? Sure you remember. You probably hated those places as much as I did. Well, with this mod, you'll have a completely different reason for spending an hour inside since it will now be your awesome home. White marble and green crystal is the name of the game and every room is lavish and beautiful. A perfect place for an Elf overlord.
Khune – Redguard house mod might not be the biggest player housing mod when it comes to sheer size but sure is the biggest one when detail is concerned. It's a highly thematic, unique and beautiful player house that's a sight to behold both from the outside as well as inside. Stepping into it is like walking into another, oriental world that's just great for roleplaying any type of character.
Vanilla Breezehome sucks, but its plocation is undeniably awesome and it sure holds a special place in my heart for being the first time you get your own property in the game. So as with the last time, an extra entry on the list is one to make Breezehome an awesome and beautiful place to hang your helmet. Expanded in every way, with this mod, it will finally become a place you'll enjoy spending time in.
