Swords are great, but wouldn't you like a whole armory? Check out these mods for all the access you want! The top 20 best Skyrim weapon mods all in one place, waiting to be unlocked for your questing pleasure. You won't need luck.
We bring you a second list in what will be an overview of our favorite Skyrim mods across many categories. This time, we spotlight weapon mods that will make you look and feel powerful as a true Dragonborn should.
Be sure to check out our other Top 10 Skyrim mods:
As with armor, we start off number 10 with a bit more lore friendly blade. Sword of The Ancient Tongues has the symbol of Akatosh engraved and an inscription in Dragontongue saying: “Dragonborn, by his honor, is sworn, to keep evil forever at bay”. As you can see, this one handed sword looks better than anything vanilla game has to offer and we think is a sword fitting for a dragon slayer.
9. Royal Armory
Royal armory adds around 20 lore friendly weapons to Skyrim. Not only that, but it also goes with the logic that prominent people of Skyrim would and should have unique weapons on them. So, for example, you will find some of these attached to the sides of the likes of General Tullius, Ulfric and others.
8. Cl’s Ebony Blade
Did you always feel like the vanilla ebony blade was a bit unimpressive in the way it looked? Maybe not quite fitting the full set of ebony armor? If you answered yes, then Cl’s Ebony Blade mod is for you. As you can see by the images, it adds an insanely detailed bulkier version of the sword. It features a nice enchantment effect and comes in three versions craftable at your convenience.
7. Scoped Bows & Power of the Gods
Number 7 is a bit of a combo featuring bows. First up is scoped bows mod and as the name suggests it adds bows that feature scopes on their sides. Aside from looking like medieval snipers (which is awesome), they remove the need for the aiming reticule, boosting immersion a bit for all those who like to remove elements of the UI. The second mod is power of the gods mod which introduces the Epirus bow to the world of Skyrim. Aside from looking awesome, this bow drains magicka, sends enemies flying and produces impactful effects and sounds to boot.
6. Frostmourne and Shadowmourne
Another combo, this time in melee, featuring spins of the famous Warcraft sword and giving it a two handed axe spin. Shadowmourne the axe takes the cake in terms of visual detail and fidelity but both the sword and axe fit right in the world of Skyrim, especially if your Dragonborn is a bit on the evil side.
5. Tera Weapons Collection
Tera armors were already featured in our Top 10 armor mods for Skyrim, so it is only logical for the weapons to get their own spot on the list. Most of them are not lore friendly but there are some a bit more subtle and can fit in with the world of Skyrim. What is certain that all of them look awesome and if you want to roleplay a power fantasy and stand out from the crowd, this is the mod for you.
4. Kthonia’s Unique Weapon Pack
Kthonia’s unique weapon pack adds three pretty unique, lore friendly weapons to Skyrim. A dwemer lightning fork, chitin recurve bow and a chitin greatsword called Venomspite. Each of them comes with their own unique enchantment and effects and feature insanely detailed and sharp textures.
3. The Godswords of Gielinor
Godswords of Gielinor, just look at them. If that is not enough you should know that although they are called god swords, they are in fact just a bit above Daedric ones in terms of stats. Each, however, has their own enchantment that makes them a bit more worthy of the name. They are also a bit on the huge side so their lore friendliness is debatable. They are inspired by Runescape and are recreated to a huge amount of detail as you can see in the screenshots.
2. Quel’Delar
Another Warcraft item on the list. Quel’delar comes in three versions, one handed, two handed, and a dagger. It is faithfully recreated from WoW and is extremely detailed and awesome looking. Perfect for a Dragonborn warrior type of character.
1. Warrior Within Weapons
Weapons from Prince of Persia Warrior Within take the number one spot on this list. This is because other than there being 12 unique weapons with a bunch of variations, the weapons are insanely detailed and look amazing. Add the fact that their curvy design makes them look like they were plucked straight out of Hammerfell for that added lore friendliness and you can understand why it takes the top spot.
Top 10 Skyrim Weapon Mods Vol. 2
As with the mods above, the updated list will be right up your alley if you recently played God of War or watched Infinity War. There you’d have probably seen some awesome powerful weapons and I personally was pumped to try and find something of the sort for my next Skyrim playthrough. So here is my take on awesome powerful weapons that can make you Skyrim game even more fun.
As always, starting the list a bit more vanilla and tame with Vikings weaponry mod. With this one, you’ll get access to 6 items – 2 axes, 2 swords and 2 shields. All of them are very lore friendly and fit the Norse aesthetic of Skyrim like a glove, plus, they are very detailed and an absolute joy to use.
Do you want to be flashy? With glowing sword elements that send a message of power to your enemies? This Final Fantasy inspired sword got you covered. It doesn’t get flashier than a golden sword in both one handed and two handed variants that just bleeds blue glowing power. Final Fantasy in Skyrim? Bring it on.
Blade of Intrigue mod adds just that – the Blade of Intrigue. It’s a one-handed rapier sword that isn’t anything special in terms of stats but looks really unique and unlike anything else you’ll find in vanilla Skyrim.
Another Excalibur sword on this list. This one is not high fantasy version but something more in line with what you imagine when thinking of a real-life Excalibur. The sword has a beautiful crossguard with glowing runes etched in the blade itself. It also comes in both one handed and two handed versions.
Stormbreaker axe? Well, how about a Stromcaller scythe? It’s like someone imagined that Thor and Hela preformed a Dragonball fusion and then created a weapon that they would use. A badass, detailed and powerful weapon for you to let loose with.
When it comes to Skyrim weapon mods, daggers are the often overlooked weapon type. Well, this mod is looking to fix that with what must be the best looking dagger ever. Everything, from the pommel to the blade is highly detailed with insane attention to detail that will make you one flashy and badass assassin.
If you ever played Diablo, you know how badass angels look with their gold-plated armor and powerful weapons. Well, this entry brings a sword that is inspired by El’druin – the sword of Tyrael, the archangel of justice and wisdom. Look at it and trust me when I say that this is the last sword you’ll ever need.
Another weapon with lightning infused powers. Thunderfury is an epic weapon mod coming straight out of World of Warcraft that will decimate any enemy standing before you. If however, by some miracle there is someone who can withstand it – no worries as mod also gives you Bulwark – a spiked shield that might as well be a fortress wall between you and your enemy.
World of Warcraft is an endless pit of great and iconic weapons that just beg to be re-created for use in Skyrim. Shalamayne is one such sword and here we have it in its full eye-watering glory in both one-handed and two-handed versions.
No matter the hammer wielder you want to channel – be it Orgrim from World of Warcraft, or any version of Thor – this hammer is sure to fit the bill. It’s one of my favorite weapon mods ever and it even comes in 4k version. No need to talk about it much – just look how awesome it looks and download it immediately.

Downloaded a good amount of these, thanks for the list! Also LOL @ the “realism” comment. None of these are more or less ridiculous than some of the items already found in the vanilla game.
Hey man! Thanks for the suggestion but talking about realism in a game featuring magic, dragons and a staff that turns people into sheep is something I avoid. Lore-friendly on the other hand…
2 years old comment but I always wished to reply someone arguing about reality and fantasy, regarding mythic and magical weapons, for anothers to read.
Let me introduce you to the reality and, to show how untrue such affirmation is.
“Unrealistic” ’cause Wars and weaponry are summarized in planes/drones and nuclear weapons now a days. There’s not many “man on man” contact since WW2 and the invention of the gunpowder. However, that’s very, very possible making Scaliburs from hard steel, allow of Diamonds plus another chemicals, making it nearly undestructible. The extra visuals as glow, blue radiation etc pretty easy to recreate as pratical weapon feature, being specialry of the weapon in question. Such could be corrosive acid leaving blade/warmmer at the user’s will (thru functions/buttons to liberate it etc) or totally powerful eletricmagnetic weapons, which could subjudge an entire army in the battle field. Think of advancing with a staff able to recreate thunders, as a tesla with electromagnetic pulse, or weapons/arrows with similar effect.
Another day a dude did show at a school’s showoff a shield made of similar materia of those bullet resistant glasses made up for President Cars, and, the shield not only held bullets, including from Ak-47 calibers, but also had another functions as reflecting and absorbing energy.
That also would be possible doing weapons ables to act as “vampirics” in real life, as many showcases did show, where certain substances reinforce its durability, including blood, skin and another materias from a regular battlefield.
Hell, even had that test with a stick/greatsword ish token able to lure thousand of thunders to it, looking similar HigherLander and, able to intercept/attrack and create super dicharges. That could neutralize an entire enemy acampament or its equipments. Worse, detonate something if placed in the right place.

I’m glad you had the good sense to bring up CL’s Ebony Weapon replacer. Most of your picks are solid.

Most of them are just plan ugly and unrealistic, best weapon mod is Isilmeriel’s LOTR Weapons, proper sized weapons and they look good.

Thus, everything is possible with creativity.
