Season 5 of Overwatch 2 is a little under a week from release and today Blizzard revealed the next Mythic skin to join the game. This new Mythic skin has not only given us a hint at what the overall theme for season 5 will be but also showcased a new evolving mechanic not seen in other Overwatch skins up to this point.
The Season 5 Battle Pass will award a new Mythic-tier skin for Tracer called Mythic Adventurer. She is the second DPS Hero to receive a Mythic (following Genji’s Mythic back in season 1) and is the fifth Hero to receive a Mythic following on from Space Conqueror Sigma. The overall theme for this Mythic skin is fantasy-themed, giving Tracer an Elven aesthetic paired with mythical armour reminiscent of the Demon Slayer from the Diablo series.
Journey through the #Overwatch2 Season 5 Battle Pass on June 13 to unlock all three stages of Mythic Adventurer Tracer:

Tier 65 ➡️ Intermediate
Tier 80 ➡️ Complete pic.twitter.com/A7jGMgNkUA— Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) June 7, 2023
The most significant difference between Tracer’s Mythic and all the other Mythic skins currently in the game is that it will be an evolving skin like the Mythic-tier skins in Apex Legends. At hitting rank 45 on the premium Battle Pass, you will unlock the Base version of the Mythic skin, with Intermediate and Complete versions opening at ranks 65 and 80, respectively. Each new version gives Tracer a completely new look as well as some new VFX for her model and weapons.
It appears that we will also still be able to recolour and customize the skin as we see the Intermediate stage skin with both a red cloak and a blue cloak at different points in the trailer. However, it is unknown whether the new evolving format will replace the current form of customization for Mythic skins where players can alter different pieces of the skin to fit their preferences.
A full reveal of Overwatch 2 Season 5, including a deep dive into all the new Epic and Legendary skins coming with the Battle Pass, is coming on June 12th. Season 5 itself launches the following day June 13th.
