Overwatch 2 launches the Lunar New Year 2023 Event, bringing back its classic Capture the Flag arcade brawls, exclusive festive cosmetics, Twitch drops and the celebratory Lijiang Tower map. Here's everything you need to know about this year's event.

Overwatch 2 Releases Lunar New Year 2023 Event, Year of the Rabbit

Get ready for the Overwatch 2 Lunar New Year 2023 Event to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit! Featuring classic Capture the Flag brawls, some new login rewards, twitch drops and fresh surprises, here’s everything to enjoy today, January 17th for this year’s event.

Hop into Capture the Flag (CtF), Capture the Flag Blitz and Bounty Hunter today. These unique brawls take a twist on the classic PvP game modes with some new objectives. If you’re feeling confident, you can even try the Competitive CtF mode. Playing any of these game modes will provide extra Battle Pass XP, too. The Lijiang Tower map will also be adorned from its control centre down to the night market, as with previous events celebrating the Lunar New Year. Don’t forget to take a second to appreciate the beautiful fireworks displays!

Just by logging in during the event, you’ll earn a player icon. Then, jump into some games to complete the Overwatch 2 Lunar New Year 2023 Event challenges. Rewards include exclusive cosmetics and eventually, the Kkachi Echo Legendary Skin. The fun doesn’t stop in-game, though. Head on over to Twitch and watch your favourite streamers to earn exclusive rewards for Moira. Up for grabs are a victory pose for two hours of watch time, and legendary skin, for four more hours of watch time.
