Introducing – Ramattra Challenges
Just like the classic heroes, Kiriko, Sojourn, and Junker Queen, Ramattra has received a challenge to unlock him after the season in which he was introduced ended. These challenges are fairly simple, although they do require a little bit of grinding. There are a total of 7 challenges to unlock Ramattra in Overwatch 2. However, most of these are very simple and can be completed in just a few minutes. Essentially, the game forces you through a bit of a tutorial before you get to take the latest hero for a spin.
To see challenges, simply go to “challenges” at the bottom of the main menu. You can also access this menu when you are in a game by pressing escape (on PC). When you open that menu, click on the final tab that says “hero.” Select Ramattra, and you can see the challenges that you have to do.
Wins for Ramattra
Wins for Ramattra is by far the most tedious part of the process. To quote the mission, you have to win 35 games either by playing as tanks or queuing as all roles in Quick Play, Competitive Play, or No Limits. The progress you make in the prior season carries over to this mission. So if you played a little last season, it will be a lot easier to unlock the Omnic tank going forward.
The phrasing here is important. It doesn’t matter for the mission if you end up playing a damage hero or a support hero when you queue as all roles. As long as you win, it will count towards completing this mission. So don’t leave if you suddenly spawn as a support in a Quick Play – it will still count. I tend to resort to Quick Play to get this mission more quickly since Competitive Play can last multiple rounds, which is quite time-consuming. Do make sure you don’t play Quick Play in open queue mode since that won’t count toward Wins for Ramattra.
Visit the Practice Range to Unlock Ramattra
For the other six missions, simply hop on over to the practice range. Ramattra is there for you to select. Once you spawn as him, there are a few objectives you have to complete. If you’re ever lost on the controls, don’t forget to press F1 (on PC) to check them.
- Practice Void Accelerator. You can do this by simply eliminating 3 bots using the left mouse button when you’re in Ramattra’s default form.
- Practice Ravenous Vortex. You can do this by pressing E in both of Ramattra’s forms. You can switch between forms by pressing shift. Make sure you’re damaging some bots while you’re at it.
- Practice Pummel. This is easy to do by switching to Nemesis Form by pressing shift and hitting left shift next to two stationary bots.
- Practice Barrier. Go stand in front of a shooting bot, and press the right mouse button to erect a barrier in front of you.
- Practice Block. It’s the same as practice barrier. However, press shift before pressing the right mouse button.
- Practice Annihilation. This is Ramattra’s Ultimate. You have to extend the duration for six seconds or more. The attack persists longer if there are more enemies nearby, so do this in the section with the moving bots.
- It’s all just a forced tutorial, really.
- This is the perfect place to extend your ultimate.
After you’ve completed all these challenges, you can select Ramattra whenever you like. Have fun!
