In the recent Nintendo Direct, MONOLITHSOFT revealed the contents of the 2nd Wave of Expansion Pass content for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. This includes a look at a brand new Hero, some new cosmetic rewards and the return of the staple Challenge Battles.
A brand new Hero joins the game called Ino. She is a mechanical Hero, similar in appearance to the articial Blade Poppi from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Her unique dialogue and appearance may hint at a connection to some other Xenoblade Chronicles characters.
Ino’s class is Noponic Champion. This is a Defender type class that wields a sword. Their Arts are called Starry Beat (which inflicts Break), Afterglow and Photon Storm. Ino’s Chain Attack ability is called Ino Unlimited and it increases the damage ratio of Chain Attacks by 265 percentage points.
Another interesting part about Ino is that she seems to be upgradable via Ether Cylinders in Inoswap. You’ll need a new type of Clinder, called HD Clinders, to upgrade Ino. You will collect these from Ether Channels. These HD Cylinders will power new skills and upgrades in Ino, similar to the grid used by the party’s Ouroboros forms.
- Noponic Defender
- Inoswap
The other major part of Wave 2 is the addition of Challenge Battles. Much like it was in previous games, the Nopon Sage seems to make their return. You will clear out specific battles under certain conditions and time restraints.
When you clear them, you will earn rewards. These include new outfits and gear, including swimwear for all 6 of the main part members.
- Challenge Battles
- Swimwear
We also got a sneak peak at Wave 3. This will feature new kinds of Challenge Battles as well as another brand new Hero to recruit.
Wave 2 of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass launches on October 13th.
