Fashion Souls: 10 Wicked Armor Mash-Ups in Elden Ring and How to Make Them

One of the many beautiful things to come out of Elden Ring and the Soulsborne games is the Fashion Souls trend. Players across all of the FromSoftware games come together to share the coolest-looking characters they can possibly put together. Here are 10 Fashion Souls looks and how you can make them.

Fashion Souls: 10 Wicked Armor Mash-ups in Elden Ring and How to Make Them

From the very beginning, Elden Ring has offered us an impressive collection of armour sets to wear and enjoy. And so, it follows in the vein of previous FromSoftware games, which have built up a following of supporters online that assemble creative new looks using a mash-up of the coolest armour items. This trend is called “Fashion Souls” in Elden Ring. Behold a collection of some of the most kick-ass and ingenious custom sets to ever walk the Lands Between. Remember, this is not about complete sets, but the combination of armour pieces to create the best looks!

If you are interested, please check out the Fashion Souls Community on Reddit. Many of the designs below can be found there. Others were made in-house using the suggestions of friends. More Fashion Souls related goodies can be found on Twitter.

Check out the linked Fextralife Wiki pages linked to each list for info on how to obtain the items.

RedShogunTurtle’s Moon Druid – Spooky

Ok, let’s start off with a Battle-mage build. By doubling down on all of the blue glowing pieces you can find, you can make this mystical-as-hell looking druid, complete with glowing stag horns, a sword that looks like a giant crystallized dragon-fly wing and a blue crystal staff. If you want to look like you’re about to slaughter a few enchanted goats in order to cast your next spell, this is the look for you. He’s not someone an invader wants to meet in a dark forest at night, unless they want their organs removed in the name of some unspeakable dark god of the moon.

Let’s be honest, it can be hard to make Wing of Astel look good as a primary weapon. It is one of the best swords in the game, but looks pretty strange when wielded alongside most armour sets. This set is a cool way to make it work, and it is built for mages so that you can take advantage of that nice intelligence scaling. The horns also boost a reusable item called the Ancestral Infant’s Head, increasing your spell options.

By the light of the moon! This is high fashion souls.

If you are struggling with Lusat’s items, then the video below may help.

Jamesthegoblin’s Iron Thumb Tack – Hilarious

This absolute tank is so well armoured that you can’t even see his face. That’s right, he’s so well armoured you don’t even get to look at him. The amazingly named ‘Iron Thumb Tack’ armour combo creates the fairest of expectations… you’re going to get pricked. Above all, it’s a smart way of taking the Iron Kasa helmet and pushing in a fresh new direction. If you look closely, you’ll notice the way that the perforations in the blade of his Shotel match those in his helmet. If fashion souls in Elden Ring continues along this track, we’ll get plenty of hilarious ideas for builds.

The main elements of this set are:

RedShogunTurtle’s Naginata Knight – Pure Awesome

This truly looks like something out of an anime. You have the always-dope-looking samurai style armour, combined with a skull-plate helmet. That’s easy money. You may expect the next step to be adding a samurai sword or two, but no. Much better to get down and dirty will a full-sized Naginata polearm in one hand and metal claws coming out of the other.

What does that imply? He wields the naginata with only one hand. Goodness gracious that’s cool. Imagine him flying through the air while he executes an impossible aerial strike using both weapons, cackling through his skull-plated helmet as he does so. Building a character like that will be worth it for that alone. Having the Royal Remains helmet replenish his HP when it is in a reduced state gives him an extra aura of invincibility. Did I mention that the name of the claw weapon is Raptor Talons?

The skull-face adds extra wickedness.

YeshuaHamashia1’s The Geisha – Fashion Souls Legend

I really have to take my hat off to the creator of this set… (He’ll feature twice in this article.) He does what few people have the presence of mind to do, which is to include the character creator in his style. It really takes fashion souls in Elden Ring to the next level. The results are astonishing, and nigh-on impossible to recreate without some serious fiddling by Renalla’s side.

This is the Geisha build. You would be forgiven for thinking this is a character from the Dynasty Warriors franchise. Once again, this features the White Reed set, a quality pick. Alongside it he has made the simple choice of adding both a katana and a polearm weapon, but has also thrown in some crazy-looking ashes of war and the make-up. He ends up with one of the most unique and memorable styles around. That haunting white skin accentuated by the red of the lipstick and the crackling of lightning on his weapon… This is something to be truly proud of.

He may remind you of playing Dynasty Warriors. Psych! It's fashion souls in Elden Ring!

The main elements of this set are:

MF-Doomov’s Disco Sunset Priest – Funky

Prepare yourself, because things are about to get funky. This is MF-Doomov’s Disco Sunset Priest. We start with the mirrored helmet, something that does a great job of setting the tone. It is the same one that War Counsellor Iji wears, a character you may have come across early in the game. As we move down you’ll see the Depraved Perfumer set, which has detailing to keep the visual interest up and a wicked cloak. Finally we come to the weapons themselves, which are golden, glowing fist weapons. If Daft Punk ever decide to pick up a copy of Elden Ring and get involved in fashion souls, I hope this is where they’ll take things.

CamHelix’s Tarnished Creed – Impression

I really hope I don’t have to explain this one. It’s Ezio Auditore! You know, from Assassin’s Creed? It’s incredible how the gaming community always seems able to take kick-ass characters from other franchises and find a way to build them in another game. This is what fashion souls in Elden Ring is capable of! It’s especially impressive that this one seems to be so believable. What makes this is obviously the combination of the cloak and the ‘hidden dagger’ as a primary weapon. I am going to recommend that people use the Raptor of the Mists ash of war just to that you can increase your acrobatic ability and live out the truest version of this cosplay! Make sure to change up your face in the character customizer to get the full Ezio look.

You already know who it is.

The main elements of this set are:

RedShogunTurtle’s Garnet Mage – Themed

Another build themed around a colour, this time red. The Garnet Mage is actually delightfully functional, alongside looking like the leader of the world’s most powerful and obsessive blood cult. The hood, the cloak and even the weapon all match, and on top of that there is gold detailing to be found on each of these unrelated items. It ends up being incredible cohesive as a design. Every time he stabs you, he’s soaking his hood and his sword in blood, turning them ever more red. Perhaps he’ll crystallize your blood for ornamentation later on… You just never know.

This is great for a mage build because it’s comprised of items you’d already want on a mage. The Antspur Rapier is especially good for mages because it gives you a melee option that can wreak havoc on enemies without having to stack your strength or dexterity. Build it correctly and it can have scarlet rot, bleed and poison on it, all at the same time. It’s not featured in this picture, but if you want a staff that also carries on the red and gold themes, you can use the Gelmir Glintstone Staff.

The main elements of this set are:

YeshuaHamashia1’s Werewolf – Genius

It’s YeshuaHamashia1 again, surprise surprise. In this outing, they’ve decided to go for a werewolf build. It may be possible to stumble across this idea yourself after you find Blaidd’s armour, but this has to be most legitimate way of bringing it to life. It’s the attention to detail that really gets you. We have the mandatory Black Wolf Mask and the claws, but it is once again the character creation tool that makes it amazing. Everything is stripped off except the pants, making it seem as if his transformation has ripped the clothes off of his body. Because of this we see underneath, where we have the hairy chest and the darkened skin, effortlessly completing the illusion that this was actually designed to be an enemy in the game. A world-class idea.

Another ingenious use of the character creator.

Skullbard’s The Haligdrake – Boss Material

How is this guy not the final boss of the game? Look at him, he’s imbued with more ancient power than he knows what to do with. For instance, he probably gets stressed in social situations because he’s worried about how people can’t stop staring at him in awe. We have had a few colour-coordinated styles on this list, but this guy goes it with gold. In addition, he manages to capture all of the harrowing, gothic style of the FromSoftware games and still be a shinyboi. Also, anyone who has played through the game probably knows that the spear he is holding is a legendary weapon, and it has never looked more appropriate.

Hard to look bad with such a fancy hat.

The main elements of this set are:

RedShogunTurtle’s Soul Harvester – Pure Horror

This final entry leans pretty hard into the horror aspect of the experience, because he may very well remind you of the worst enemies in the game, which are clearly the Abductor Virgins. (Ok, I hate the shrimps too…) It’s probably one of the easier looks to put together in terms of the concept, seeing as most Soulsborne games have hideous masked monstrosities in them.

But hey, how much fun is it to actually be one of those insufferable monsters? That’s where the fun comes in. The weapon featured here is especially cool, and looks good on so many different builds that it is a real go-to weapon. Why not put on a similar outfit, invade someone and haunt the ever-loving god out of them for sport? A great use of fashion souls in Elden ring.

Could be turned into one of Elden Ring's suckiest enemies.
