Top 5 Boss Weapons in Elden Ring

Ever wanted to take one down of Elden Ring’s many imposing bosses with their own weapon? Or slice your way through the Lands Between in a whirlwind of steel dressed as Malenia herself? Elden Ring gives all players the chance to live out their greatest power fantasies. But with so many great boss weapons to choose from, which comes out on top?

Top 5 Boss Weapons in Elden RingSome of the most unique weapons and spells players can find across the Soulsborne games are those that can be acquired by using the Soul or Remembrance of a fallen boss. And Elden Ring is no different.

To obtain a boss weapon in Elden Ring, players must first defeat the boss who wields it. While this may prove decidedly difficult for some of the bosses on this list, acquiring these weapons should give players the boost in power they need to take on the rest as they journey towards becoming Elden Lord. And they should provide a major advantage going into New Game + and beyond.

Killing a boss will grant the player their Remembrance. These must then be taken to Enia, the wise and wizened Finger Reader residing in the Roundtable Hold. She will draw out the power of the Remembrance to fashion a new boss weapon for the player. Each Remembrance can be used to make one of two weapons or spells, but can only be used once. So choose carefully. However, Remembrances can be duplicated by entering the Walking Mausoleums seen patrolling the Lands Between.

But which boss weapon should you choose? Some provide great strength, others interesting combinations of skill and status effects, and yet others are simply too gimmicky to be viably used in serious playthroughs. That being said, here are the top 5 boss weapons in Elden Ring.

Hand of Malenia

Want to get even with the world of Elden Ring after finally defeating the great and terrible Malenia? Or aim to strike fear into your PvP opponents by utilising her signature Waterfowl Dance? If so, then this is the boss weapon for you.

While the Hand of Malenia isn’t the strongest weapon in the game in terms of its base stats, it is still often considered one of the best boss weapons simply because of how fun it is to use. The ease at which players can slice through enemies with this unique katana increases exponentially with its signature Weapon Skill.

Waterfowl Dance may be the bane of every player when on the wrong side of Malenia, but when they can pull it off themselves, they can transform into a whirlwind of death. This Weapon Skill unleashes a flurry of lightning-fast strikes that add up to deal great damage and fantastic blood loss. And with a cost of only 12 FP, this deadly dance can be spammed again and again and again.

Where to find

To obtain the Hand of Malenia, players must defeat Malenia, Blade of Miquella, in in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. But as the game’s most challenging optional boss, this is easier said than done.

Starscourge Greatsword

A weapon for those who prefer spectacle to subtlety. Felling the great Radahn grants players the right to wield not only this immense sword, but also the gravity magic behind it.

While a powerful greatsword in its own right, capable of dealing great physical damage, its unique ability allows the player to dual-wield it without being weighed down by any extra weight. To do this, players need simply two-hand the weapon. Instead of holding one Starscourge Greatsword with two hands, they will find themselves holding one Starscourge Greatsword in each hand. This allows for a whole host of new moves, striking every enemy twice to deal massive damage.

Its Weapon Skill is called Starcaller Cry. Casting it creates a gravitational well around the player that pulls enemies in close, only to be followed up by a tremendous AOE slam as they thrust their two blades into the ground. This hits with a great amount of damage and is perfect for dealing with mobs of enemies or tricky PvP players who won’t stop rolling.

Sacred Relic Sword

With a screen-filling special skill that can decimate everything in its path, the Sacred Relic Sword is a must for Rune farmers across the Lands Between. Yet it is also powerful enough to be used as a main weapon, too.

This fast-paced sword can cut through most enemies like butter, dealing decent damage even against the toughest of foes, but it is in its Weapon Skill that its true power can be found. Wave of Gold emits a powerful golden blast when cast, which travels across the ground, building in both width and power. It passes through enemies, too, meaning everything in the player’s path will be struck by its golden light. Wave of God scales with Faith, and at high enough levels, this will take out most enemies in a single hit.

The speed at which this Weapon Skill kills and the sheer number of enemies it can hit, makes it perfect for Rune farming. Simply make your way down to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road near Mohgwyn’s Palace and eliminate all of the enemies waiting there with one fell swoop to acquire thousands of runes. Rise and repeat with the nearby Site of Grace to rack up the millions.

To obtain the Sacred Relic Sword, players must defeat the Elden Beast inside the Erdtree. If players delay going into New Game +, they can immediately redeem its Remembrance at the Roundtable Hold.

Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear

A weapon perfect for those who enjoy seeing their enemies bleed. Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear deals great physical damage, but shines brightest with its blood build-up status effect. It also scales with Arcane, making it one of the best Arcane weapons in the entire game.

This spear is the perfect triple threat, dealing physical, fire, and bleed damage (73 at base) on every hit. Damage that only increases the higher the player’s Arcane skill. This means that with the right build, a lowly Tarnished can obliterate their enemies with just a handful of swings.

Looking to inflict even more bleed damage on your foes? Look no further than this spear’s Weapon Skill. Bloodboon Ritual creates three enormous explosions of blood that deal good damage and have a great AOE. This makes it a wonderful weapon for cunning PvP players.

Blasphemous Blade

Widely considered to be the best of all the boss weapons in Elden Ring, the Blasphemous Blade packs a mighty punch. This demonic-looking sword not only deals great damage, but heals the player, too!

With its base stats alone, this gnarly sword can carve through every enemy the game has to offer. Each swing deals fantastic physical damage, but also hits with an extra burst of fire damage. And as many enemies in Elden Ring are weak to fire, this weapon can almost make things too easy.

But it is this blade’s Weapon Skill that truly helps it rise above the rest. Taker’s Flames coats the Blasphemous Blade with red fire when cast, causing each swing to deal massive amounts of pure fire damage. But that’s not all, with this Skill active, every successful strike also heals the player, with the amount it heals by increasing by around 20% with each enemy killed. This makes the blade perfect for dealing with mobs of high-level enemies, as the player can simply heal through their attacks with every swing. Similarly, it also makes a fantastic PvP weapon.

Dealing massive damage and healing at the same time, no wonder so many players love the Blasphemous Blade.

Where to find

To obtain the Blasphemous Blade, players must defeat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, deep below Volcano Manor in Mt Gelmir.
