The Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Expansion Pass is finally here. The Isle of Armor DLC launched on June 17 and it brought tons of classic Pokémon to the Nintendo Switch. One of which is Lycanroc. But not just the Midday and Midnight Forms. Players can get the rare Dusk Form, and the process is rather simple.
You may remember Lycanroc from the Alola region. The rock-type Pokémon was a staple of the seventh generation and found its way onto many teams. The Wolf-Pokémon’s rarest form, the Dusk Form, was previously exclusive to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. It required a special Rockruff with the ability Own Tempo. However, a Dusk Form Lycanroc is available in Pokémon Sword and Shield through the games’ Max Raid Battle feature.
Where and How to Find Dusk Form Lycanroc
Trainers can find this Max Raid Lycanroc near the Tower of Darkness. That said, you must own the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass to reach the Tower of Darkness. And even then, coming across a Dusk Form Lycanroc boils down to luck.
According to Serebii.net, the Dusk Form version only appears during four and five-star encounters. During four-star encounters, this version of Lycanroc only appears 5% of the time. On the plus side, if you happen upon a five-star Max Raid Battle Lycanroc, there is a 20% chance that a Dusk Form appears.
