The most recent Pokémon Presents live-stream challenged trainers across the world to work together. A Max Raid Battle event starring the Mythical Pokémon Zeraora was announced and trainers have raced to reach Game Freak’s goal. What’s the goal? To have 1 million trainers complete the challenge.
To catch you up to speed, the event is running for a limited time (6/17 – 6/28). Trainers will be able to battle, but not capture, the Mythical Zeraora. And, if you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one.
You might have stalled when I said: “but not capture”. Fret not. If the 1 million trainer goal is met then all trainers will receive a Shiny Zeraora for free through the Pokémon Home app.
How Many Zeraora Max Raid Events To-Date
As of midday on June 19, there have been 272,335 trainers that have defeated Zeraora.
Great start, Trainers! Over 272,335 of you have defeated Zeraora so far! 🏆 We're well on our way to our goal of 1 million!

Over 25% of the designated goal has been reached in less than three days. But the job isn’t close to done. More trainers need to keep the train on the track to help the community. Furthermore, Game Freak and Pokémon are likely to keep trainers posted as the numbers update.
As a bonus, players will receive a piece of Armorite Ore for every 100,000 Zeraoras defeated after the initial goal of 1 million. This giveaway caps at 2 million completed Max Raid Battles (or ten pieces). Armorite Ores can be used at the dojo on the Isle of Armor to teach Pokémon new moves.
