In Final Fantasy XIV, mounts are aplenty. They’re a huge part of the game whether you’re unlocking them through story or grinding for them. They’re the fastest way, other than teleportation, to get place to place in the world. Whether you’re a collector or just a casual player, each mount only continues to elevate the in-game experience. The mounts listed here are Final Fantasy XIV Online Store exclusive items that cost money to obtain. While there’s more than what’s listed here on the mogstation, these are our picks for the top ten!

SDS Fenrir
The SDS Fenrir is the mount you’ll see everyone riding when a new expansion drops. This is due to it’s ability to travel the max speed before you do fates to buy the riding maps. Not to mention, it’s a stylish battlebike that looks as if it was driven straight from an unknown age. It’s an account-wide purchase, so if you choose to spend the money on this mount, it will go to all of your characters. In other words, if your character is just starting out in Eorzea, you’ll be zipping place to place before you unlock flying.
Megashiba
This far eastern dog is adorable as ever as it carries it’s master from place to place. It will always bring joy to everyone who sees it. As an added bonus, this pooch has mount actions. This way you’re able to pet the dog, make them bark, wag their tail, and yes, you can even pet them. This good mameshiba is one of the fluffiest and cutest mounts in Eorzea. Certainly a must have for anyone who just wants to bring smiles as they make the mount bark.
Cruise Chaser
Another account wide mount, the Cruise Chaser is indeed the one from the Alexander raid series. It goes from the bipedal form when on the ground to the airship form when flying. As an added bonus, this mount can seat two. You and a friend can fly high, taking over the skies as you soar. It’ll bring you back to the early days of Heavensward as it plays the music from the Heart of the Creator. None can deny the adventure inside the steel giant as it lives on in the hearts and minds of adventurers.
Fatter Cat
This mount might look adorable on the outside, but it harbors a dark secret. Surprise your friends by telling them that not only can this mount defy the laws of physics by flying, but it’s actually a voidsent creature. Though, it’s possible that this cat was deceased and reanimated by a necromancer. Either way, it’s pure black eyes hints at this mount plotting something nefarious while being cute in the process. Even so, we know this mount would overrun the city states if they were allowed to be summoned.
Garlond GL-IS
Another account-wide two seater is next on the list. This magitek vehicle is a motorcycle that’s fitted with a sidecar that’s meant to carry a trusty sidekick. However, the sidecar is strictly for the mascot, Alpha. This makes your friend ride behind the small chocobo on the spare tire. As a bonus, this mount plays the 2023 fanfest music instead of a track from a dungeon or trial. It’s a very nice change of pace from the other in-game mounts.
Shadow Wolf
This wolf is a nightmare creature that’s obedient to the player it serves. The mount is based on the raid boss from Eden’s Promise: Litany. The fearsome Shadowkeeper might have too many eyes and mouths, but it’s still one of the best mounts on the mogstation. Originally thought to be for another achievement for Blue Mage, Square Enix surprised everyone by making it paid. While this dread wolf seems to be less fearsome than it’s counterpart, we’ll have to keep an eye on it.
Sunspun Cumulus
The Sunspen Cumulus is a yellow cloud that’s said to be dyed by the sun itself. While we don’t know who made it, it’s said to be created by a man who resides in the mountain ranges of Doma. and is supposed to bring good fortune to all those who ride this mount. In game, however, it’s said that this mount looks eerily similar to the flying nimbus that a certain character rides on. Either way, this cloud will certainly be comfy to all those who ride it.
Lunar Whale
While this mount might look like a whale, it’s description assures us it’s not. Designed by Garlond Ironworks, it’s belly is big enough to fit the pilot and seven other players. It’s a godsend if you need to transport your friends quickly. It’s certainly in a class of it’s own as this ship of light soars through the sky. With a fully party inside this 8-seater, this is the biggest mount anyone can currently have in game.
Indigo Whale
The indigo whale is a great addition to this list due to it being able to seat 2 players. On the back of this magnanimous mount is not only a nice covering, but a table set for two. If you’ve ever wanted to see the stars with a date, this is the mount for you. A romantic dinner for two as the mount flies through the sky will make anyone swoon.
Fat Moogle
Much like the Fatter Cat, the Fat Moogle features a plus-sized patrician. While many speculate the moogle shouldn’t be able to fly with how small it’s wing are, it does so anyway. Not only carrying itself and the player, but an additional occupant. Another 2-seater on the list, as this magical flying mount plays the Good King Moogle Mog track from the Thornmarch trial. This mount will anyone giggling as the moogle takes off in flight with it’s bench holding it’s tenants.
