The Top 5 Best Casual Glams In FFXIV Online

With so many different types of robes and armour in FFXIV Online, it can get a bit exhausting to create the perfect Job-specific outfit. Sometimes you just want to see your Warrior of Light relax in a comfortable-looking hoodie or flaunt a pair of cool-looking sneakers. Using this list, you'll be one step closer to creating the perfect casual glam!

The Top 5 Best Casual Glams In FFXIV Online- Cover Image (3)

As one of the most prevalent types of glamours in FFXIV Online, causal outfits are intricately tied to the MMORPG. Depending on who you ask, casual glams are either some of the most fashionable outfits in FFXIV Online or are looked down upon for ruining the ‘fantasy’ image. Since there’s such a wide array of clothing to choose from, it can be difficult to decide what looks best on your Warrior of Light.

Luckily for you, I’ve got the perfect list to help you make that all-important decision.

1.) Urban Boots

Frankly, these are some of the most diverse and useful boots in the entirety of FFXIV Online. Not only are they fashionable and modern but the Urban Boots tend to go perfectly with practically any outfit. They can look stylish on any character regardless of their race or gender, and they can also be equipped by any Job.

These shoes aren’t over the top or extremely flashy but they do have a satisfying level of detail that very few items can compete with. They tread a fine line between looking realistic and not so much so that it becomes unsettling. I usually like to pair the Urban Boots up with any of the Nier Automata gearsets, since they fit the same sort of modern, avant-garde aesthetic.

Not only are they stylish but the Urban Boots are super versatile with almost any outfit!

2.) Varsity Jacket

This glam has been taking FFXIV by storm lately, partly thanks to its casual and modern aesthetic. Seemingly ripped straight out of an American TV drama, the Varsity Jacket is a cool-looking chestpiece that is one of the few pieces of gear that can be equipped by all characters and doesn’t change visually depending on the wearer’s gender.

FFXIV has been pretty obsessed with casual, modern outfits lately and this jacket is a testament to that. Whilst it can ruin the ‘fantasy’ aspect of the game for some, this top is perfectly suited for the RP and nightclub scene within the popular MMORPG.

To obtain this unique-looking gear piece, you have two options: either purchase it off of the marketboard or craft it yourself as a level 90 Weaver. To do so, you’ll need the following materials:

  • 3 Wind Clusters
  • 3 Lightning Clusters
  • 1 Bolt of Exciting Fiber
  • 3 Bolts of AR-Caean Velvet
Modern, casual and fashionable. The Varsity Jacket is the very essence of style.

3.) Fuga Haori

Regarded as one of the most popular and unique-looking armour pieces in the entire game, the Fuga Haori is a fan-favourite casual glam within FFXIV Online. This two-part far eastern-inspired set allows players to experiment with a plethora of different other glamour pieces.

I can’t use this outfit for anything but the Samurai Job. It just fits it so perfectly, in my opinion. The Fuga Hoari seems like something a wandering, elegant warrior would wear as they travel from place to place. My favourite part of this gearset is the long, flowing robes, which contrast perfectly with the rough and wild look that the wrapped bandages portray.

Unfortunately, this outfit is only available via actual currency through FFXIV’s Online Store.

With its intricate and ornate eastern-inspired style, the Fuga Haori is perfectly suited for the Samurai.

4.) Craftsman Apron

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this apron to have such a lasting impression on me, but here we are.

Based on the uniform for a real-life FFXIV-inspired café in Japan, this outfit is an extremely popular choice for practically every crafter in the game. Ironically it doesn’t have any stats but it’s a perfect all-around fashion statement for any Disciples of the Hand. Smart, stylish and sophisticated.

Nowadays, the only way to get the Craftsman’s Apron is to scrape together 2,200 Skybuilder Scrips from the Firmament, you can do this by creating specific items with a high collectability rating.

Giving off an approachable, stylish and professional air, the Craftsman's Apron is perfect for any and all crafters.

5.) Isle Explorer’s Shirt

The Isle Explorer’s Shirt is a gear piece that has a surprising amount of fidelity. Sporting an adventurous vibe with a dandy-looking necktie and a small knapsack, this shirt is a fun and interesting addition to the ever-growing roster of glamours in FFXIV

Considering that this outfit is locked behind the newly-added Island Sanctuary, I was a bit apprehensive at first. I’m not a fan of the poorly-made Stardew Valley– Esque feature but I think it was worth it in the end.

To get the Isle Explorer’s Shirt, you’ll need to obtain 3000 Seafarer’s Cowries before exchanging them with the Horrendous Hoarder in your Home Sweet Hideaway.

With its naturally adventurous and stylish look, the Isle Explorer's Shirt is quite the fashion statement.

Conclusion

These are just some of the most popular casual outfits that you can get your hands on in FFXIV Online. Whilst the opinions surrounding them vary, it’s hard to deny their place within the game.

Whether you like them or not, it seems they’re here to stay.
