As the beginning of Final Fantasy XIV‘s next expansion Dawntrail creeps closer, the next part of the Moogle Treasure Trove has been announced. Starting from Tuesday, May 14th until June 24th, the Second Hunt for Genesis will commence. Much like the last treasure trove, you’ll be given multiple objectives from your mogpendium. This time, however, we know more about how it works. It will consist of standard objectives, weekly objectives, the minimog challenge, and the ultimog challenge. If you don’t have your mogpendium, you should speak to an itinerant moogle in one of the starting cities.
The standard objectives will usually be an assortment of dungeons, trials, and raids. Much like the First Hunt, you’ll still be able to gain these tomes by GATEs and ocean fishing. They will be free for all players to repeat as much as they’d like, gaining regular intervals of Irregular Tomestones of Genesis II upon completion. You’ll be able to tell what duties will give the tomes by a moogle icon next to it’s name. This also ties into the weekly objective. You’ll be assigned one objective to complete before the week is over to get your hands on even more tomes.
Moving onto the minimog challenges, these objectives can also only be completed once per week. However, you’ll be assigned two objectives and will only have to complete one of them. This can be anything from ocean fishing, GATEs, Triple Triad, and more. Meanwhile, the ultimog challenge can only be completed once. Based on last time, it should give 50 tomes which is half the amount needed for the big reward. While it’s uncertain what the goal will be this time, we’re excited to grind it out.
The Rewards
Once again, the rewards are a little underwhelming for Final Fantasy XIV veterans. The big item for this tomestone hunt is the Emerald Carbuncle Earring. While it’s nothing huge, it’s still something for players to work towards. Though, the rewards have always had a broad range for collectors. There’s always the Late Allagan gear sets, the various furniture, minions and mounts, and triple triad cards the event offers. There’s always something to grind for. Be sure to check the event information for all the rewards you can collect and the Lodstone for updates on Final Fantasy XIV.
