Final Fantasy XIV's Moogle Tome Event Offers New Ways to GrindFinal Fantasy XIV is releasing the next Moogle Treasure Trove event. Starting from January 30th and ending March 11th, The First Hunt for Genesis will be taking place. Much like the previous moogle tome events, players will need to collect irregular tomestones. Then they trade them to the moogles in the main city states for various prizes such as accessories and mounts. This time, however, there’s a twist. The event will be split in two parts across the Patch 6.5x series with different tomestones to collect. They’ll even have their own rewards to reap.

Like the previous iterations of the Treasure Trove event, players can easily farm the tomes by doing the standard objectives. These are usually an assortment of dungeons, trials, and alliance raids. The Praetorium and Castrum Meridianum giving the most tomes. Additionally, irregular tomestones can now be obtained from GATEs from the Gold Saucer, as well as ocean fishing provided you get 1,200 points.

However, it doesn’t end there. To help convince players to join in on older content, there’s going to be a Weekly Objectives, Minimog Challenges, and Ultimog Challenges! Every completion will earn players extra tomes to put towards items of their choice. To put it simply, the weekly objectives will be a single duty taken from the standard objectives and will have a bonus. The Minimog Challenges will also be weekly, however, instead of the standard duty, these will be obtainable from Ocean Fishing, GATEs, Triple Triad, and more. Meanwhile, information on the Ulitmog Challenge have yet to be released. Although we know it will grant a sizable tomestone award, it can only be completed once per event.

The Rewards

While the rewards are a little underwhelming for Final Fantasy XIV veterans, there is always the exclusive mogtome item that stands out. Once again it’s the Mameshiba Neckerchief. If you didn’t get this item last time, now is your chance. The exclusive items always cost the most at one hundred tomes and is usually the first thing players buy. However, there’s a list of rewards that any player can peruse in their free time and look for what they want or need. From mounts, minions, glamour, and more to choose from. Hopefully this huge increase in variety will offset the content drought at least a little.

Be sure to keep an eye on the Lodstone! When the next mogtome event take place, it could offer new rewards and even better ways to collect. If you’re more excited for Dawntrail, you could always check out KeenGamer’s articles on the new player race coming out, or the next job that’s being released.
