Many exciting releases have been confirmed at this year’s Summer Game Fest including Sid Meier’s Civilization 7. The latest part in the series has a release window set for 2025. The release of Civilization 7 will be a continuation of the success that the popular series had since the first part’s release in 1991. Since Civilization 6’s release in 2016, fans of the series have been waiting for a new part. Now that Civilization 7 is confirmed, it is closer than ever and by next year, players will have the chance to try it.
The future release of Civilization 7 will mark the latest addition to the turn-based strategy games series. While a full release date isn’t announced yet, fans are guessing that 2K will release the game in October, 2025. This speculation is based on the fact that Civilization 3, Civilization 4, and Civilization 6 were all released in October. With Civilization 7, players can expect access to the game on different platforms and not just PC. Other than PC, it has been confirmed that Civilization 7 will be available simultaneously on PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

What Civilization 7 Trailer Reveals About the Game
Along with the game’s announcement at Summer Game Fest, the official Sid Meier’s Civilization YouTube channel released a teaser trailer for it. The trailer doesn’t reveals a lot about the upcoming game especially since Sid Meier will announce the new features in Civilization 7 in August, 2024. Despite that, players can see in the teaser the Egyptian Pyramids and the Great Wall of China. Whether these two civilization are in the game or not is still not certain. Since the teaser trailer doesn’t reveal a lot, a glimpse of Civilization 7 gameplay is expected to be unveiled in the gameplay showcase in August.
Before the official announcement at SFG, 2K Games leaked the news by mistake. The Civ 7 publisher released the logo for the game hours before SFG started. While they immediately removed the logo from their website, fans of the franchise noticed and circulated the news. Despite the spoiled surprise, the excitement for the game is still there. Players are even returning to Civ 6 as they wait for the new part. You can check our early game tips for Civilization 6 while waiting. Fans can wishlist Civilization 7 through the official website.
