Does Red Dead Redemption 2 Have Cheat Codes?
Yes, Red Dead Redemption 2 has cheats, but you’d be forgiving for completely ignoring them. Rockstar’s western epic is a joy to experience, but sometimes you just want to sit down, lay back & cause widespread mayhem across the frontier. If you’ve been itching to loosing your spurs & be the outlaw you’ve alway wanted to be, this is the guide for you.
Hold your horses through, because there’s a few things you need to know first. Using cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2 come with a cost. Make sure to save your game before activating any cheats as they will automatically disable your ability to save. Though the majority of cheats are simple to activate, a few have prerequisites. Fear not! these prerequisites only involve purchasing specific newspapers throughout your time in story mode. New newspapers become available after important story moments, so check with the newspaper boy regularly to make sure you get all of them.
This cheat guide works for both the PS4 & Xbox One version of Red Dead Redemption 2.
How do you activate cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2?
Cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2 take the form of phrases. To unlock the cheats, firstly, go into the pause menu & go down to settings.

Once in the settings menu, you will see a triangle (or Y) button prompt, titled cheats. All of these cheats will be locked & can be unlocked by entering the codes found below.

Upon entering a code phrase, you will receive an alert informing you that a cheat has been activated. You will only have to enter these codes once as the cheats can be toggled on & off, whenever you like.

As I mentioned above, activating cheats will stop you from saving your single player game & bar you from unlocking any trophies or achievements. This could be disastrous if you’ve had a long play session & thoughtlessly activate a cheat, so keep this in mind.

What about PC?
It has been confirmed that RDR2 will release for PC on November 5th. Whether the PC version will have exclusive cheats, not available on the console versions, we don’t know yet. If new cheats are revealed, we will update this guide ASAP.
