In Final Fantasy XIV‘s patch 6.51 comes Aloalo Island. Another variant dungeon, this time lead by Matsya. Like the others, you can do this solo or in a party of up to four people. To unlock Aloalo Island, you’ll want to pick up the quest “Stranger from Paradise” from Shallow Moor in Old Sharlayan. If you don’t see the quest, make sure you’ve done the main scenario quest “A Satrap’s Duty” and have spoken with Osmon, who is also in Old Sharlayan. This guide will walk you through the twelve different routes the dungeon has to offer. Once you finish all of them, you’ll unlock a special mount, and gather a special currency to trade in for other items.
If you want something a little harder, you can always try out Another Aloalo Island or the savage version of it. Of course, you could also run the other two variant dungeons as well. If you’re interested in looking at what patch 6.51 offers, I suggest taking a look at the patch notes or if you want to see how the Fall Guys event works. If you’re excited for Dawntrail, maybe look at the new system requirements and see the upgrades they’re planning, or if you’re new to Island Sanctuary, check out how to get started on it.
Routes
There are twelve routes in Aloalo Island, so let’s go through them. Keep in mind that if you take the route the NPC suggests, you’ll get an extra coffer. When you’re choosing the paths, the boss Quaqua’s abilities will change depending on certain events. For the left path, a random weather event will be the cause for the change. You can either get fair skies or thunder. In the middle path, Quaqua will change what they do based on how many poison flowers you stepped on. If four flowers are stepped on, the ground prior to the boss will become poisonous. Finally, for the right path, the change will be based on how many fallen statues were repaired.
