Sakura: Bloom in Summer Combat Overview

Let’s start the guide by looking at Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s Nikke Skills. As an Attacker Nikke, Sakura: Bloom in Summer is equipped with a set of Skills that will help her team’s damage output by introducing Damage Over Time (DoT) to the game.

Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s specialization comes from all of her Skills, with the first Skill, Bloom, enables her to forcefully use her Skill 2 while also boosting some of its capabilities during the active duration. Bloom can trigger whenever Sakura: Bloom in Summer or any of her allies destroy an enemy’s parts, thus allowing Bloom to provide bonus duration and sustained damage for her Skill 2 for a period.

Meanwhile, Full Glory, as its name suggests, is the source of all DoT within Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s damage capabilities. With Bloom, which will forcefully enable this Skill, Sakura: Bloom in Summer will almost always deal sustained damage against the enemy with the highest ATK currently on the field, which means that Full Glory has a small margin of error in targeting smaller enemies.

Lastly, Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s Burst Skill, Ephemeral Splendor, allows her to unleash a potentially critical blow to a random enemy, while also dealing sustained damage to that same target for 10 seconds.

Overall, Sakura: Bloom in Summer introduced a new mechanic and new way of dealing damage against the Raptures in the form of sustained damage, though it’s quite a shame that her Burst Skill is randomized, but her other Skills can certainly be more than enough to make up for that DPS loss potential.

Strengths and Weaknesses

As with every Nikkes in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, Sakura: Bloom in Summer also has her strengths and weaknesses against different content types within the game, as we have curated in the next part of this guide:

Strengths Weaknesses
Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s abilities are highly welcomed against any Interception/Union Raid/Solo Raid Bosses, especially against Wind Weak Bosses. Her nature as an Assault Rifle Nikke, as opposed to Rocket Launcher or Shotgun Nikke, means that Sakura: Bloom in Summer has the chance to miss some of her shots if you use the Auto feature, which in turn, will result in a DPS loss due to her not being able to hit her target’s weak spots.
Sakura: Bloom in Summer has a way to improve her Skill 2’s damage output, which can further improve if you can pair her with the correct Supporter Nikkes.
Her strength in PvP Arena does not render her immune against strong attacks from units like Jackal and Scarlet, who can easily kill Sakura: Bloom in Summer by using Scarlet’s Skill 2.
Sakura: Bloom in Summer has the potential to become one of the best DPS in PvP Arena thanks to her Damage Over Time abilities, which become a source of nuking damage for your team.

Skills Priority

Once you know Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s Skills, it’s time to move on to her Skills Priority. As she is an Attacker Nikke, here is the hierarchy of what you should upgrade first (in descending order):

  • Full Glory: Sakura: Bloom in Summer heavily relies on Full Glory to unleash her Damage Over Time capabilities. Prioritize upgrading this Skill to at least Level 7, and when possible, upgrade it to Level 10.
  • Ephemeral Splendor: Ephemeral Splendor, Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s Burst Skill, is also another source of DoT for her, and is especially useful against opponents in PvP Arena since its targeting system is randomized. Just like Full Glory, upgrading Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s Burst Skill to Level 7-10 is better.
  • Bloom: Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s Skill 1’s main task is to provide her with more uptime, potentially permanent, for her Skill 2. While you can achieve so by upgrading Bloom to Level 5, upgrading this Skill to Level 7 or beyond will help you easily sustain Skill 2’s duration if the enemy’s parts are not that many during a period.

Best Equipment Substats

Since Sakura: Bloom in Summer is an Attacker-Class Nikke, she can only use the corresponding equipment designated for that Class. Since there is a potential for her to become one of the latest meta characters to grace Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, putting on some Overload Gears on her won’t hurt in the long run.

Therefore, if you have spare Tetra Gears and want to use them for Sakura: Bloom in Summer then I suggest you look out for Increase CRIT Rate, Increase Elemental Damage, and Increase ATK sub-stats to help Sakura: Bloom in Summer to dish out a more damaging DoT against her enemies.

Best Harmony Cube to Use

Now that we know the best gear options for her, it’s time to take a closer look at what Harmony Cube suits Sakura: Bloom in Summer the best. Generally speaking, she doesn’t require anything too specific when it comes to Harmony Cubes. However, if possible, you should equip the Bastion Cube on Sakura: Bloom in Summer due to multiple reasons.

The first major reason is that the Bastion Cube allows her to shoot more bullets during a battle, which she will need as an Assault Rifle Nikke. Another strong point for bringing this Cube for her is that Sakura: Bloom in Summer excels in a new way of giving DPS output for her team, which means that giving her another Harmony Cube besides the Bastion Cube will just slightly diminish her firing rate capacity.

Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s Potential Team Compositions

As for her potential teammates, Sakura: Bloom in Summer surprisingly can work well with most Nikkes that are currently available in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, since her DoT potential means that she can elevate a team’s offensive output without sacrificing other details of things.

For those reasons, we will list two potential lineups for Sakura: Bloom in Summer to ensure her abilities can soar to new heights and potentially create a new meta-defining team in the process.

Summer Queens

Rosanna: Chic Ocean is an exceptional partner for Sakura: Bloom in Summer, significantly enhancing her combat capabilities. The combination of Rosanna’s Damage Taken debuff, additional Parts Damage buffs, and Sustained Damage buff creates a powerful synergy that allows Sakura: Bloom in Summer to inflict tremendous damage on her enemies.

This pairing boosts Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s performance to levels that surpass most other team compositions, even exceeding the renowned bunny duo’s effectiveness.

With those in mind, the full Summer Queens lineup has Liter, Rosanna: Chic Ocean, Sakura: Bloom in Summer, Helm, and Modernia.

Death Rain

For PvP Arena, Sakura: Bloom in Summer can also thrive with the correct team setting, which helps elevate her DoT potency while keeping her secure from any harm from your opponents’ lineup.

For those reasons, this second team, which I dub Death Rain, consists of Sakura: Bloom in Summer, Blanc, Red Hood, Centi, and Jackal. This team’s hard hitters can effectively counter most teams that need to time their Burst Skills, which means that the Death Rain team can blitz through teams that are on the slower side. Moreover, if your opponents don’t have a Noah on their team, then Death Rain can also reliably destroy that team without any major issues.

Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s Overall Power Rank

Now that we’ve gone through Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s Skills and her Team potential, it’s time to talk about her usability in every content within the game. In Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, there are many challenges that players must face, such as Interception, Arena, and Tribe Towers.

As I have mentioned earlier, Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s potential is innate, since her Damage Over Time (DoT) capabilities bring a fresh and unique way of dealing damage against the Raptures, and she can work incredibly well with a vast array of Nikkes, both Supporters and Attackers alike.

And so, to close off this Sakura: Bloom in Summer Nikke guide, we will provide a table that includes her usability against all game contents, including Interception and PvP Arena, to provide insight into what types of content she’s strong in and which are the ones you should avoid using her.

Power Rank Table

Type of Content

Usability Rank

(E – SS)

Explanations
Campaign Stages (Early) A Sakura: Bloom in Summer certainly enjoys her spotlight during early Campaign Stages, as the Raptures here have relatively low health, meaning that her sustained damage should find no trouble in ripping through their defenses.
Campaign Stages (Late) B Starting in Campaign Stages Chapter 20+, Sakura: Bloom in Summer will face serious issues that can hinder her usability. The most notable offense to her capabilities is the fact that her Burst Skill is randomized, meaning that it can practically target lesser enemies instead of the main Rapture of a certain Stage. Only use Sakura: Bloom in Summer during major Campaign Stages, where there’s only one Boss.
PvP Arena S As stated previously, Sakura: Bloom in Summer can shut down most low HP Nikkes since her DoT from Skill 2 is more than enough to finish them off. However, you should remain careful if the opponent fields Noah, as she can counter Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s DoT.
Interception/Union Raid/Solo Raid SS When it comes to fighting Bosses in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, Sakura: Bloom in Summer is one of the best Burst 3 Nikkes to do the job. Her DoT capability combined with top Supporter Nikkes will melt through most Bosses, especially if they have many destructible parts.
Tribe Tower B Tetra Tribe Tower, similar to the Campaign Stages, is relatively not suitable for Sakura: Bloom in Summer, due to the massive amount of enemies on each Floor. Only bring her during the Boss Fights, which generally happens every 10 Floors.

Should You Pull for Sakura: Bloom in Summer?

Depending on your needs, or your priorities within Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, Sakura: Bloom in Summer can be your new best friend or only another DPS Nikke to add to your collection among other DPS such as Modernia, Red Hood, and others. However, Sakura: Bloom in Summer’s strengths lie in the fact that she presents a new way of dishing out damage to the Raptures in the form of sustained damage, which will melt down any enemy’s defenses if you can manage to rip off their body parts.

Other than that, Sakura: Bloom in Summer fills in the empty void within the landscape of Wind Type Nikkes, especially for DPS Nikkes, since the only ones in this role are Scarlet: Black Shadow and Guilty, so by having her gracing the game now means that all players can enjoy more accessible options when fighting against Wind Weakness Rapture Bosses.

More importantly, unlike most Nikkes that are currently present in the game, Sakura: Bloom in Summer is a Limited-Time Character, meaning that there is a chance she won’t appear in future banners forever, or at least only make an appearance once per year through the Summer Season’s Banners and Events. So, this reason alone should be enough to convince you to pull for Sakura: Bloom in Summer.

Therefore, we place Sakura: Bloom in Summer as an A-Tier Nikke for our final verdict.
