Red Hood Combat Overview

Let’s look at Red Hood’s Nikke Skills to start the guide. As an Attacker Nikke, she mainly serves as the main DPS unit for the team, although she is also quite flexible in terms of Burst Skill activation. Let’s start with her Skill 1, Glaring Eyes, which has two attributes with two different triggers, which activates when Red Hood casts a Normal Attack and when she enters a battle. The first attribute will increase her Charge Speed’s value by up to 3.81%, which is stackable to 10 times and lasts for 5 seconds. Meanwhile, the second attribute converts any excess Red Hood’s Charge Speed beyond 100% to Charge Damage, with a value of 240% of the excess value.

Meanwhile, her Skill 2, Wild Tooth, is quite important, and this is a first step in Red Hood’s flexibility as an Attacker Nikke. The first part of this Skill gives Red Hood continuous Pierce ability, granting her shots added damage against Raptures. As for the second part of Wild Tooth, depending on the Burst Skill you decide to use, there will be three different effects: Beast Cage (activates if Red Hood uses her Burst 1; increases all allies’ DEF for 10 seconds), The Last Howl (activates if Red Hood uses her Burst 2; Red Hood recovers a portion of her HP), and Red Wolf (activates if Red Hood uses her Burst 3; increases Red Hood’s ATK for 10 seconds).

Lastly, with her Burst Skill, Red Wolf, Red Hood can enter three different states here. The first one is when you use Red Hood as a Burst 1 Nikke, which allows her to increase her allies’ ATK based on her own ATK for 10 seconds. If you use her as a Burst 2 Nikke, then she will heal herself and taunt all enemies for 10 seconds. Lastly, her Burst 3 switches her main weapon, which now gains a bonus Pierce range and Charge Speed bonus, granting her more destructive power against the Raptures.

Overall, Red Hood promotes flexibility in a team composition where she can actively shift her purposes as a Buffer/Taunter/DPS unit, although keep in mind that her Burst 1 and 2 Skills are only active once per battle, so Red Hood remains a Burst 3 Nikke at heart, with slight flexibility for other Burst stages should you need her to do so.

Strengths and Weaknesses

To summarize, we have provided a table that highlights Red Hood’s strengths and weaknesses below:

Strengths Weaknesses
Red Hood’s Pierce ability is continuous and does not need a requirement to activate it, allowing her shots to deal more damage consistently Red Hood is still weaker compared to Alice and Modernia on many different occasions
Red Hood requires lower investments regarding her Overload equipment Needs high Skills investments before her damage output becomes top-tier
Red Hood’s offensive capabilities can surpass the Scarlet + Anis: Sparkling Summer combo if you can manage to use her Pierce ability well Red Hood’s usability against Bosses that have a limited number of parts (Chatterbox, Solo Raid Modernia) is relatively sub-par compared to Snow White

Skills Priority

Now that you know Red Hood’s Skills, it’s time to move on to her Skills Priority. As she is an Attacker Nikke, here is the hierarchy of what you should upgrade first (in descending order):

  • Red Wolf: Red Hood’s Burst Skill simply sits at the highest priority among her three Skills, thanks to its many attributes that directly tie to Red Hood’s DPS output.
  • Glaring Eyes: The next Skill to prioritize is her Skill 1, Glaring Eyes. Red Hood relies on gathering as much Charge Speed and Charge Damage as she can, so upgrading this Skill can help her utilize the excess value’s Charge Damage boost.
  • Wild Tooth: Skill 2 has the lowest priority among the three because of how situational this Skill is when compared to the other two Skills. Red Hood’s Burst 1 and 2 largely depend on your team composition and keep in mind that their optimal usage is only once per battle, so the bonus that the Wild Tooth provides falls short as Red Hood can only obtain the Burst 3’s bonus consistently.

Best Equipment Substats

Red Hood is an Attacker-Class Nikke, so she can only use the corresponding equipment designated for that Class. Red Hood will shine better when you give her multiple Overload Tier buffs, so you must try and give her all the Overload equipment you can gather.

As for the recommended sub-stats, I recommend you to look out for Increase Charge Speed, Increase Max Ammunition, and Increase Charge Damage sub-stats for optimal DPS output for Red Hood.

Red Hood’s Potential Team Composition

As for her potential teammates, Red Hood’s main strength, which lies in her flexibility, works in favor of her usage in team compositions. However, she still needs the correct Supporter units to help her damage output while also keeping both Red Hood and other DPS units alive.

With that in mind, we will list down two potential lineups for Red Hood in this Goddess of Victory: NIKKE guide.

Red Hood + Duo Bunny Lineup

For this team, we recommend using Liter, Blanc, Noir, Modernia/Alice/Scarlet, and Red Hood.

While Red Hood can also buff all of her allies’ ATK if she uses her Burst 1, she can only do so effectively once per battle. With that in mind, you need a Nikke that can supply the whole team with a steady stream of offensive buffs, and Liter shall retain her position as the team’s main Supporter Nikke.

Meanwhile, the Duo Bunny, Blanc, and Noir, pair up nicely with Red Hood thanks to their overpowered offensive and defensive support that they provide, two things that will greatly help Red Hood in attaining the best possible DPS output. As for the third Burst 3 Nikke, Modernia/Alice/Scarlet can help the team by providing another avenue of damage since Red Hood and Noir alone cannot burst through most game modes’ hardest challenges.

Red Hood + Naga/Tia Lineup

For this team, we recommend using Liter, Naga, Tia, Scarlet/Alice, and Red Hood.

The difference between this lineup and the Duo Bunny one is that we will use the Naga + Tia combo here to replace Blanc and Noir. However, the downside of this lineup is that you must manage your Burst rotation carefully, as Tia’s Burst Skill makes your team re-enter that Burst stage, and you should pick on whether to use Red Hood first or Liter.

Red Hood’s Overall Power Rank

Now that we’ve gone through Red Hood’s Skills and her Team potential, it’s time to talk about her usability in every content within the game. In Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, there are many challenges that players must face, such as Interception, Arena, and Tribe Towers.

As stated before, Red Hood offers flexibility to give you more attacking avenues during battles, however, that flexibility can only be enjoyed once per battle, so it’s advisable to stick with battle-proven Supporter Nikkes and other Attacker Nikkes that can help Red Hood to truly shine.

And so, to close off this Red Hood Nikke guide, we will provide a table that includes her usability against all game contents, including Interception and PvP Arena, to provide insight into what types of content she’s strong in and which are the ones you should avoid using her.

Type of Content

Usability Rank

(E – SS)

Explanations
Campaign Stages (Early) SS If you’re still in the Early Campaign Stages (Chapters 1 – 16), Red Hood can burn through any type of obstacle, even without optimal offensive support that can back her up, so you should use her in your team whenever possible if you’re at these Stages on Campaign.
Campaign Stages (Late) S Starting in Campaign Stages Chapter 17+, you must begin to exercise caution when using Red Hood. At the very least, you must learn her optimal Burst rotation to keep you flying through the Campaign Stages with ease.
PvP Arena A Red Hood’s position in the PvP Arena is rather a mixed bag, as you can’t manually steer which Burst stage she will enter, so your best bet is to align her on the right side of your team compositions to allow Red Hood to maintain her optimal state.
Interception S – SS In Interception, Red Hood is one of the top DPS units to have, especially against Bosses that have weak points that Red Hood can exploit through her continuous Pierce ability.

And that’s the character guide for Red Hood for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.
