What is Memory of Goddess (MoG)?
In Memory of Goddess (MoG), players have to complete five stages, each with two levels. The enemies are not very diverse, but you have to watch out for long-range Raptures, mini-bosses, and the formidable final boss. There are six Nikkes that you can choose from, each with their own weapons and skill trees. The skill tree upgrades are unique to each character, making you have to think twice about which character to bring in a certain stage.
Moreover, you can reset your character anytime for free and get back all the coins you spent. To unlock new characters, you need to find their lost items in specific stages. You can check the “Illustrated Guide” section and click on the “Lost_Item” tab to see where the items are.
Players have the freedom to select up to 5 weapons and 6 modules and can further enhance their weapons with maximum level of 5. Each level increase offers various advantages, such as increased damage, fire rate, and AoE buffs. For the next part, we will discuss the best weapons and modules to tackle MoG stages to help you win the rewards consistently.
Best Weapons to Use in MoG
Because of the characteristics of MoG, weapons with area-of-effect (AoE) capabilities and penetrating projectiles have a significant advantage. Below is the priority guide for selecting the best weapons. It’s important to note that each character may prefer different weapons type (For example, Scarlet prefer more ranged type weapons due to her own unique weapons which give an ability to kill close ranged enemies).
Must-have Weapons
- Boomerang
- Land Mine
- Reflector
Good Weapons
- Rocket Launcher
- Energy Sword
- Tactical Rifle
- Transformed Tactical Rifle
- Energy Field
Decent Weapons
- Beam Chakram
- Grenade
- Missile
- Sub Machine Gun
- Large Caliber Sniper Rifle
- Shotgun
Best Modules to Use in MoG
In Memory of Goddess (MoG), weapon upgrades are more important than most modules. However, some modules are worth getting. Here is the full list of useful modules for your runs:
| Instant Repair Module | Recovers HP by 1 every 5 seconds. |
|---|---|
| Emergency Repair Module | Recover HP when HP is completely drained. Can only be used once. |
| ATK Enhancement Module | Increase ATK by 5%. |
| Attack Speed Enhancement Module | Increase Attack Speed by 5%. |
| Projectile Size Enhancement Module | Increase Projectile Size by 10%. |
| Projectile Speed Enhancement Module | Increase Projectile Speed by 10%. |
| Comprehensive Enhancement Module A and B | Increase general stats (Movement Speed, Max HP, DEF Bonus, etc.) |
Overall, always try to find as many Emergency Repair Module and Projectile Size Enhancement Module as you can, as these two modules will help you tremendously when tackling MoG, especially after the 10 minutes mark.
Additionally, Projectile Speed Enhancement Module is as important as those two modules as this one help increasing all projectiles’ speed, allowing them to reach their targets far easier.
Best Characters to Use in MoG
Memory of Goddess has a total of 6 playable Nikke characters, and each character has their own unique weapons and Burst Skills. Some weapons and Burst Skills require manual targeting of the enemies, which makes it inconvenient, but they have higher damage output. Below is the list of character weapons and their Burst Skills.
| Character | Weapons | Targeting Type | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weapon | Burst | ||
| Snow White | Seven Dwarves – Fires bullet to the nearest enemy. (Tactical Rifle) | Auto | Manual |
| Dorothy | Ungrateful OZ – Rapidly fires bullet at wide range. (Sub Machine Gun) | Manual | Auto |
| Scarlet | Fleetly Fading – Swiftly unleashes a circular flurry of sword strikes. (Energy Sword) | Auto | Auto |
| Rapunzel | Holy Grace – Spins on her own and creates an energy sphere. (Beam Chakram) | Auto | Auto |
| Red Hood | Wolfsbane – Fires bullet in the faced direction and opposite direction. (Transformer Tactical Rifle) | Manual | Manual |
| Re: The Hood | Wolfsbane: Rebirth – Releases laser around her. Reload slowly but very destructive. (Unique Weapons) | Manual | Manual |
To help you breeze past through the MoG stages, Scarlet is the best character to use, thanks to her inherent close range strikes that can cover a large area, giving you sustainability against the enemy’s onslaught. Additionally, Scarlet allows you to basically go into semi-idle state, in which you won’t have to even move from your current spot, apart from collecting EXP, practically becoming a farm machine for your MoG runs. However, keep in mind that you still need to find the best modules and weapons during the early game to provide the maximum damage output during the latter part of the stage.
As for the Challenge Stage, you can use Red Hood thanks to her amazing Burst Skill, which deals high damage against enemies from two sides, giving you a valuable time window to relocate yourself to a better position.
General Tips for MoG
Memory of Goddess requires a degree of focus and understanding its mechanics to clear, and for the next part of this MoG guide, we will talk about several tips on how to easily get through all MoG stages, including the Challenge Stage.
- Upgrade your preferred weapons as much as possible and avoid sub-par weapons. This will help you pass the mini boss at 3/6/9 minutes mark because high-level weapons will have new effects that will help you clear the mobs easily.
- The effects are more obvious on the AoE weapons since their AoE will become much larger. That’s why early on, it’s recommended to get every AoE weapon that you can find such as Boomerang, Land Mine, Reflector, and Energy Sword if you need close range coverage. With these must-have weapons, you can be semi-idle and do something else while your Nikke demolishes the mobs.
- Why semi-idle? Because after the second mini boss around 6-minute mark, there will be long-ranged mobs that occasionally spawn and shoot projectiles at you. However, you can also counter this by having max-leveled Boomerang or other AoE weapons that have good enough coverage so that you can kill the long-ranged enemies as soon as they spawn.
Coins, Battle Data, and Powerups
When the enemies die, they drop coins or battle data. You can use coins to unlock new Nikkes and upgrade their skill tree, while battle data gives you EXP to level up your character during a run and allows you to select weapons or modules. These drops will despawn after 1-2 minutes if you do not pick them up. Enemies also drop powerups with a small chance, and these powerups will stay on the field without despawning. You can save these powerups and use them when needed. Below is the list of available powerups and when you should use them.
| Magnet | Get all dropped Coins and Battle Data. Should be used when there’s a lot of drop around. |
|---|---|
| Lightning | Restore half of the Burst Meter. Save it for the last boss so you can burst down the boss faster. |
| Heart | Restore HP. Use it when your HP is half or less, or if there are many hearts around, just take it after you take some damage. You can also save it for the final boss. |
| Liliweiss | Destroys all mobs on screen. Save it for the final boss or when the mobs are hard to kill when you still have low-level AoE weapons. |
And that’s how to clear every Memory of Goddess (MoG) stages in the new Goddess of Victory: NIKKE‘s 1st-anniversary minigame event.
