Today, we will discuss the latest Nikke, Bay’s in-depth guide, focusing on her skills and team synergies. Let’s begin.
After several hours of maintenance, the One More Time update commenced on April 11, 2024. Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is available on Windows, Android, and iOS.

Bay Combat Overview
Let’s look at Bay’s Nikke Skills to start the guide. As a Defender Nikke, Bay can provide her team with damage reduction ability as long as Bay herself stays alive during the battle.
Bay can do so through her Skills, and Skill 1, You Can Do It, activates after she survives after using her Burst Skill, which then prompts this Skill on, in turn, grants all allies reduced damage taken proportionally and increases their DEF stat by up to 10.13%.
In addition to that, Bay’s Skill 2, Cheer Up Together, also utilizes Bay’s nature as a Defender Nikke, where after the Full Burst ends, Bay can recover her Cover’s HP each second for 5 seconds, thus allowing her to keep going and protecting her allies at the expense of her Cover.
Lastly, Bay’s Burst Skill, First Winner, allows Bay to increase her won Cover’s maximum HP for 20 seconds while also helping her allies by providing them with bonus reduced damage taken for 10 seconds.
Overall, Bay might seem selfish at first glance, however, she constantly protects her allies by helping them take reduced damage at the cost of her safety. Although useful on paper, she does unfortunately have little going on to her kit beyond her damage-sharing abilities, and you are better off at using other Defender Nikkes like Noah or Jackal for better security for your team’s health.
Strengths and Weaknesses
As with every Nikkes in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, Bay also has her strengths and weaknesses against different content types within the game, as we have curated in the next part of this guide:
Strengths | Weaknesses |
---|---|
Bay’s potential is immediately available to use even if you don’t upgrade her Skills to higher levels. | Bay’s ability to share her damage taken and mitigate those damages from her allies is almost negligible due to her low percentage values. |
Bay’s protective abilities mean that she can tank a super-strong burst damage from DPS Nikkes that can single-handedly destroy your team such as Scarlet, so having Bay in PvP Arena might prove fruitful. | |
Bay is only usable in PvP Arena. She simply can’t keep up with the Campaign Stages’ demanding need for versatile and super-strong DPS units to defeat those Stages. |
Skills Priority
Once you know Bay’s Skills, it’s time to move on to her Skills Priority. As she is a Defender Nikke, here is the hierarchy of what you should upgrade first (in descending order):
- You Can Do It: Bay’s greatest strength lies in her ability to share and mitigate the damage taken by her allies, however, all her multipliers are not great, and this priority list can be juggled between the three Skills, depending on which fancies you more.
- Cheer Up Together: Bay’s Skill 2 allows her to restore a portion of her Cover’s HP, which gives Bay more longevity as the battle goes on. You can level this Skill up to Level 4, as anything beyond that doesn’t provide much value overall.
- First Winner: Bay’s Burst Skill takes the last spot in her priority list as, just like her other Skills, does not scale well in terms of leveling, and you can unlock her full potential right off the bat without even having to upgrade this Burst Skill.
Best Equipment Substats
Since Bay is a Defender-Class Nikke, she can only use the corresponding equipment designated for that Class. Since Bay’s Skills are not that great, you don’t have to use your precious Overload Gears on her, simply upgrade the usual Equipment to the maximum level and keep it there.
However, if you have some spares that you’re willing to use for Bay, I recommend you look out for an Increase DEF sub-stat for Bay to help her survive the battles better.
Bay’s Potential Team Composition
As for her potential teammates, unfortunately, although technically she can work with anyone, her abilities just aren’t on par with the game’s demands. With that in mind, we will list one team lineup for her that is catered for the PvP environment in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.
Bay the Cheerleader
As stated previously, Bay’s only viable usage is in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE’s PvP Arena, as her abilities overall just cannot keep up with the Campaign Stages’ demand for versatile and high-damage Nikkes. This is why, her best way to make it into one of your team lineups is through PvP Arena, and even then, there are limitations as to where she can fit in.
With that in mind, a viable team for Bay is composed of Noise/Moran, Bay, Biscuit, Centi, and Scarlet: Black Shadow/Scarlet.
This squad features a dual-layered defense system: the initial shield is provided by either Noise or Moran, followed by Bay who absorbs the damage. Being a team of three Rocket Launcher Nikkes, this team poses a significant challenge to defeat, even for an opposing two/three Rocket Launcher Scarlet team. A duo of RL Scarlet stands no chance against a trio of RL Noise. The final Burst 3 Nikke is left to your discretion (this can be Scarlet: Black Shadow, regular Scarlet, or even Anis: Sparkling Summer).
Bay’s Overall Power Rank
Now that we’ve gone through Bay’s Skills and her Team potential, it’s time to talk about her usability in every content within the game. In Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, there are many challenges that players must face, such as Interception, Arena, and Tribe Towers.
As stated before, Bay’s strength is negligible and is only viable in PvP Arena, as her usage in Campaign Stages is overshadowed by other Nikkes that can provide more utilities or damage sources.
And so, to close off this Bay Nikke guide, we will provide a table that includes her usability against all game contents, including Interception and PvP Arena, to provide insight into what types of content she’s strong in and which are the ones you should avoid using her.
Power Rank Table
Type of Content |
Usability Rank (E – SS) |
Explanations |
---|---|---|
Campaign Stages (Early) | C | If you’re still in the Early Campaign Stages (Chapters 1 – 16), Bay still has the potential to be your resident Tank unit in your team, as long as you pair her with another Burst 2 Nikkes to help negate her 40-second Cooldown. |
Campaign Stages (Late) | D | Starting in Campaign Stages Chapter 17+, Bay is… for better or worse, useless through and through. There are so many Raptures who can disrupt your team’s abilities, including but not limited to Silencers, Stunners, and many more. Bay does not have the tools to negate those effects, so she will die easily during the late Campaign Stages. |
PvP Arena | A | Bay’s greatest strength lies in her good survivability against DPS Nikkes like Scarlet and Emilia. She also works well with other Defender Nikkes like Noise, Moran, or Centi, therefore giving you a team lineup that solely focuses on protecting everyone and outlasting your enemy’s lineup. |
Interception | C | Interception Bosses are single-target enemies, and Bay is a great way to keep your teams safe and secure while battling them. However, her kit is overshadowed by many Nikkes like the duo Bunny (Blanc + Noir) or the duo JK (Naga + Tia), so bringing Bay can be detrimental instead of helping your team. |
Tribe Tower | C | Tetra Tower is blessed with an abundant supply of Nikkes in every Burst levels, and unfortunately, that abundance is not great for Bay, as her overall kits are significantly worse when you have the duo Bunny at your disposal. |
Should You Pull for Bay?
Overall, Bay is not worth pulling for if you’re saving up your precious Gems, and you should save them because the 1.5-year Anniversary is coming, and there are reports that we will get a new Pilgrim banner, so Bay is indeed in a predicament here, since her kit is overall bland and underwhelming, there is no stipulation to get her now, and it’s just better to wait for her to arrive on Standard Banner.
However, suppose you do have enough resources to pull for the 1.5-year Anniversary Banner, either by having 200 Gold Tickets or having an abundant amount of Gems. In that case, technically, you can still try to pull Bay, just for the sake of increasing that Milestone numbers, as Bay herself is just a ‘bonus’ and not the ultimate prize for this patch.
Therefore, we place Bay as a C-Tier Nikke as our final verdict.
And that’s the character guide for Bay for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.
