Mast Combat Overview
To start the guide, let’s take a look at Mast’s Nikke Skills. As a Supporter Nikke, she focuses on enhancing her teammates on the battlefield. For starters, her Skill 1, Pirate’s Grit, allows Mast to reduce her enemies’ DEF by 1.9% and can stack up to 50 times, with 3 seconds duration. Moreover, when her HP drops to 70%, she can continuously give herself and 2 other allies a 50.94% Critical Damage buff.
Meanwhile, her Skill 2, Pirate’s Sight, is pretty straightforward, yet the impact it has is tremendous: Mast will buff herself and 2 ally units with the highest ATK by increasing their Critical Rate by 23.56% for 30 seconds after entering a battle.
And lastly, her Burst Skill, Sail Through the Tempest!, will allow Mast to enhance herself alongside 2 other ally units by giving them Max HP based on Mast’s Max HP, as well as grating them a 25.19% Critical Damage bonus for 7 seconds. Not only that, but all enemies afflicted with Sea Breeze status from Mast’s Skill 1 will also receive damage of 4.52% of Mast’s Final ATK.
Overall Mast focuses on providing Critical Rate and Critical Damage buffs to other Nikkes, enhancing their combat capabilities during a fight. Moreover, Mast can also place a strong debuff on the enemies through her Skill 1, though the downside of that is the need for consistent Critical Hits from Mast.
Skills Priority
Now that you know Mast’s Skills, it’s time to move on to her Skills Priority. As she is a Supporter/Buffer, here is the hierarchy of what you should upgrade first (in descending order):
- Sail Through the Tempest!: Mast’s Burst Skill is the best Skill she has since she can do many things at once with the Skill, such as increasing 3 Nikkes’ Critical Damage as well as increasing their Max HP for a set duration.
- Pirate’s Grit: The next Skill to prioritize is her Skill 1, Pirate’s Grit. This Skill allows Mast to place a debuff on her enemies as well as grant a Critical Damage bonus to 3 Nikkes including herself, though the trigger mechanism for this is relatively hard to achieve.
- Pirate’s Sight: Lastly, Mast’s Skill 2 has the lowest priority among the three due to its function that can only grant a Critical Rate buff for 30 seconds after a battle is starting.
Best Equipment Substats
Since Mast is a Supporter-Class Nikke, she can only use the corresponding equipment designated for that Class. It is not necessary to put your Manufacturer’s Equipment on her as she’s not that demanding in terms of stats. Even Level 0 equipments are enough to make her a potent character on your team.
However, if you do have excess equipment and wish to place them on Mast, I recommend you to look out for Increase Critical Rate, Increase Max Ammunition, and Increase Critical Damage sub-stats if you wish to upgrade her equipment to Overload Tier to add some firepower to her kit.
Mast’s Potential Team Composition
As for her potential teammates, Mast is a very versatile Nikke that can fit into many team lineups since she’s a buffer that grants bonus Critical Rate and Critical Damage. Her Skills also don’t have any limitations to certain elements like Water or Fire, making her a reliable and flexible Burst 2 Nikke.
Her potential teammates are Liter, Modernia, Scarlet, and Noir.
Due to her nature as a Burst 2 Nikke and her 20 seconds Burst Skill cooldown, others such as Centi, Blanc (when paired with Noir), and Dolla will not be included in this team to prevent the Burst Skill clash.
Mast will act as the team’s main Supporter by utilizing her debuff and Critical Rate and Critical Damage buff abilities. Meanwhile, Liter will act as the Burst 1 Nikke for the team, since she can buff all allies’ ATK and replenish their Cover’s HP. Lastly, Modernia, Noir, and Scarlet act as the main damage dealers for the team by using their respective Burst Skills, with Modernia only helping by using her Skill 1 and 2.
Best Stages to Use Mast
Now that we’ve gone through her Skills and her Team potential, it’s time to talk about her usability in the Boss stages. In Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, the hardest challenge that players must face are the Special Interception Bosses. As stated before, Mast is a super versatile unit but she requires a specific requirement to trigger some of her Skills.
And so, to close off this Mast Nikke guide, we will provide a table that includes her usability against all Interception Bosses + Nihilister, Chapter 20’s Stage Boss, to provide insight about what Bosses she’s strong against and which are the ones you should avoid using her against.
Usability Table
Interception/Stage Bosses |
Usability Rank ( E – S) |
Explanations |
---|---|---|
Nihilister | C |
Nihilister is a Boss that requires top DPS units combined with healers and buffers to support them, and although Mast can be useful here thanks to her Debuff ability, her survivability is questionable since you are semi-forced to bring Rapunzel/Pepper/Helm to make sure Mast and other Nikkes are safe. |
Modernia | A |
Facing Modernia requires strong DPS and buffs to clear her Interception. Mast can provide useful buffs in the form of Critical Rate and Critical Damage increase to 3 allies (including herself), making her a solid option for Burst 2 Nikke position. Recommended Lineup: Liter, Alice, Noir, Modernia, and Mast. |
Chatterbox | S |
Chatterbox is the easiest Interception Boss, as he is less demanding compared to other Bosses. Mast will do wonders here since her buffs allow other Nikkes to shred Chatterbox’s HP bar more quicker. Recommended Lineup: Liter, Flex Burst 3 Nikke, Modernia, Laplace/Scarlet, and Mast. |
Blacksmith | B |
Blacksmith is another Interception Boss that is suitable for Mast because Blacksmith is less demanding compared to Grave Digger or Alteisen, and her abilities work well here, where Mast can provide substantial bonuses to allow other Nikkes burst down Blacksmith’s core faster. Recommended Lineup: Dorothy/Liter, Scarlet/Harran, Modernia, Noir, and Mast. |
Grave Digger | D | To complete Grave Digger Interception, you must gather a specific lineup consisting of Shotgun-based Nikkes, so Mast is not a top priority to fill the Supporter role in that lineup. |
Alteisen | C |
Alteisen’s quick missile and turret barrages must be countered by specific Nikkes such as Noise or Ludmilla. Unfortunately, even though the debuff effect can help other Nikkes deal additional damage to the train parts, that is not enough to justify picking her over Guilty or Blanc. |
And that’s the character guide for Mast for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.
