The next great saga for Honkai: Star Rail, the Golden Land of Amphoreus, is just around the corner and, after yesterday’s reveal of the new 5-star Quantum Harmony unit Tribbie, more drip marketing for Version 3.1 has started rolling out. Alongside a new planet and a new Path, Version 3.0 will introduce a new story and a new cast of characters. One of those new characters is Mydei, the Last Prince and the second new 5-star character of HSR Version 3.1.
Mydei will be the second 5-star Imaginary Destruction unit to join the Honkai: Star Rail roster, with the first being the indomitable Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae back in Version 1.2. Even though he isn’t a Remembrance unit, it isn’t hard to imagine that Mydei’s kit and abilities may have something to do with Summons, especially considering that summoning appears to be the main theme of Amphoreus and its native units.

Mydeimos, The Last Prince
According to the drip marketing, Mydei (also referred to as Mydeimos) is the Last Prince of Castrum Kemnos, one of the major city-states of Amphoreus. His Divine Authority is Nikador, the Lance of Fury, and he appears to be a very battle-hungry character who enjoys fighting above all else. In the Golden Epic teaser trailer for Amphoreus, Mydei is accompanied by a massive spectral lion and the narrator refers to him as Mydeimos the Undying.
Drip marketing is a phrase used in gacha game circles to refer to promotional images and teasers released before a unit’s official reveal. Drip marketing is often used to build hype for upcoming characters, but it also serves as a way to let players change their saving plans. Hoyoverse titles like HSR, Genshin Impact, and Zenless Zone Zero release drip marketing for their units a full version before they are released globally.
Mydei will accompany Tribbie into Honkai: Star Rail when Version 3.1 launches in late February 2025. Meanwhile, Version 3.0, which will introduce the new Remembrance Path and start the Amphoreus story arc for HSR, begins on January 8th, 2025.
