Pack your bags and prepare for a return trip to the Xianzhou Luofu in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.4. The 2.4 Special Program just wrapped, giving Trailblazers across the world a good look at what they can expect in the upcoming version update, which is set to drop on July 31st. Between a new act of the main story set aboard the Luofu to a new March 7th form that all players can earn for free, there’s a lot packed into Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 for players to enjoy.
Before we go any further, though, let’s first take a peek at the three special Redemption Codes which were given out during the livestream. Redeeming all three codes will get you a variety of useful upgrade materials, as well as 300 Stellar Jade for free. You do need to redeem them fast as they will only remain active for 24 hours after the livestream ends.

2.4 Trailblaze Continuance
The 2.4 Trailblaze Mission in Honkai: Star Rail will see delegates from several ships in the Xianzhou Alliance converge on the Xianzhou Luofu for the Luminary Wardance. In this martial arts festival, contestants fight against one another to claim the title of Master Sword Champion but something is different this time. With the arrival of two more Arbiter Generals – the Zhuming’s Flaming Heart and the Yaoqing’s Merlin’s Claw – and questions of Jing Yuan’s conduct during the Ambrosial Arbor incident rising, this festival may change the face of the Xianzhou forever.
The Luminary Wardance storyline will begin in Version 2.4 and last until the end of Version 2.5. To go alongside the new story, a new area in the Xianzhou Luofu will become available: the Shackling Prison. This frightening new location is where Xueyi and Hanya work and it’s where prisoners found guilty find themselves. For particularly nasty inmates, the Shackling Prison has cells of freezing cold and burning heat to punish and rehabilitate them.
Yunli, Sword Prodigy
Three new characters are joining the playable roster in Version 2.4 and the first is Yunli, a new 5-Star Physical Destruction character from the Xianzhou Zhuming. A talented swordswoman and the granddaughter of the Zhuming’s Arbiter General, the Flaming Heart, Yunli is as sword-crazy as Yanqing. In combat, her Skill restores her own HP while dealing Blast DMG and, when attacked, Yunli will Counter like Clara, attacking the enemy who just attacked her. Meanwhile, after using her Ultimate, Yunli enters the Parry State, empowering her Counters and causing her to take less damage from enemy blows.
2.4’s other new 5-star unit is Jiaoqiu, a mysterious new Fire Nihility character. Jiaoqiu is a military healer who is also an expert culinarian and retainer to the Yaoqing’s Arbiter General, Feixiao. He’s also the first playable male Foxian. As a Nihility unit, a lot of Jiaoqiu’s gameplay revolves around debuffs and his main debuff is Ashen Roast, which can be applied from any of Jiaoqiu’s attacks. His Ultimate turns the entire field into a Fiery hotpot which cooks the enemy alive and generates a field which greatly increases the damage of Ultimates.
Jiaoqiu, Military Medic
Both Yunli and Jiaoqiu will be available to all players as part of Version 2.4’s Character Event Warps. In phase one, Yunli will feature alongside another Xianzhou mainstay, the lovable scaredy cat Huohuo, as a featured 5-star unit. Additionally, Hanya, Yukong, and Lynx will all be rate-up 4-star units on both Yunli and Huohuo’s banners.
Meanwhile, in phase two, Yunli and Huohuo will be replaced by Jiaoqiu and Sparkle, the mischievous and chaotic followers of Elation. The featured 4-stars on these banners will be Hook, Guinaifen, and Arlan.

Yunli and Jiaoqiu aren’t the only new characters coming in 2.4, though, as March 7th is finally getting a much-needed upgrade in the form of a brand-new form. Swordmaster March 7th is a 4-Star Imaginary Hunt character. During her return to the Xianzhou Luofu, March takes up swordsmanship from Yunli and Yanqing, adopting a sharper and more offensive playstyle than her previous Preservation-focused style allowed.
In her Hunt form, March’s Skill designates one allied unit as her Master, increasing their SPD. As her Master attacks enemies, March will gain special stacks: once she reaches 7 stacks, she will take Action again and deliver a powerful Enhanced Basic Attack, with a small chance to deliver additional attacks. She will also receive various buffs depending on which Path her Master follows.
To unlock March’s new form, you simply need to complete certain activities in the 2.4 Trailblaze Mission. To get her Eidolons, though, you’ll need to participate in the Saga of Primaveral Blade event. In this event, you’ll act as March’s assistant as you help her improve her swordsplay with various denizens of the Xianzhou for an upcoming duel. Successful Trailblazers can look forward to a lot of Stellar Jade as well as three Eidolons for March 7th (The Hunt).

Of course, that’s not the only event in 2.4, which strangely seems very trashcan-heavy. In Operation Memoria Snapshot, the sentient Trashcans from Penacony have boarded the Lufou and you must track them down in Pokemon Snap-style ventures around the ship. Then, in Trailblaze: Friendship is Magic!, the Trashcans have also arrived in Belobog and they are begging for your aid in taking down a group of stalking shadows who are attacking Belobog’s citizens. You can expect a healthy amount of Stellar Jade from each of these events.
There will also be the Gift of Odyssey log-in campaign for 10 free limited pulls as well as the Planar Fissure and Garden of Plenty events, allowing you to earn additional Relics, Planar Ornaments, and resources.
Trashcan Events Everywhere in 2.4
The final big announcement of the livestream was for a shocking collaboration between Honkai: Star Rail and the insanely popular Fate series, specifically Fate: Stay Night. No other details were given about the collab other than it’s set to launch in Q3 of 2025, so over a year or so from this announcement.
