Following the reveal of Feixaio yesterday, Hoyoverse has revealed the second new 5-star unit joining the playable roster in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5. This time, the character joining the second Arbiter General is Lingsha, a unique new Fire 5-star with some interesting design quirks.
Lingsha is our first 5-star Fire Abundance character in Honkai: Star Rail, a role combination currently only occupied by Penacony’s Gallagher. Her drip-marketing artwork displays Lingsha surrounded by a pair of strange pink cloud-like bunny rabbits – who, in all likelihood, will probably feature in her kit in some way shape or form – and a bunch of different apothecary ingredients. The most interesting aspect of Lingsha’s design, though, is that her limbs have a noticeable crimson hue, which may have to do with her Vidyadhara heritage.

She has a sharp sense of smell and often uses this to diagnose illnesses, as well as utilizing incense to calm the minds of others.

Lingsha, Banished Vidyadhara
Not only is Lingsha our third playable Vidyadhara character behind Bailhu and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, but she also appears to be quite a mysterious individual, having changed her name from Dan Zhu after being banished from her home for her master’s misgivings. The misgivings of Dan Feng (Dan Heng’s previous incarnation) are known far and wide among the Vidyadhara so it’s highly likely that this is who Lingsha is referring to, which may prove an interesting plot point in the 2.5 Trailblaze Quest.
For those unaware of the term, drip marketing refers to the release of promotional teasers or images for gacha game characters to build hype before their official reveal. Hoyoverse tends to reveal their characters up to a full version before they release, giving their players time to save up their Primogems, Stellar Jade, and now Polychromes if a certain unit catches their eye.
Honkai: Star Rail’s Version 2.5 update isn’t scheduled to start until early September. However, Version 2.4 will be released very soon at the end of July, with the featured units of 2.4 being Yunli and Jiaoqiu.
