The second new featured 5-star joining Honkai: Star Rail in Version 3.0 has been revealed through a new batch of drip marketing released by Hoyoverse. This comes after yesterday’s reveal of The Herta, the real form of everyone’s favourite Genius Society Member and the first 5-star Ice Erudition character. The new character in question is named Aglaea, the first character we’ve seen from the ancient land of Amporeus.
The most notable thing about Aglaea, aside from her ethereal design, is her Element and Path combination. According to the drip marketing, Aglaea is our first playable Remembrance character: to be more specific, she’s a 5-star Lightning Remembrance unit, making her the fourth 5-star Lightning character in HSR. This is the first time Hoyoverse has added a completely new Path to HSR, with Remembrance previously relegated to Freeze-oriented Blessings in the Simulated Universe. How Remembrance will work as a playable Path is very up in the air as it’s not clear what gimmick it will incorporate.

The First Playable Remembrance Character
Aglaea is the first native we’ve seen from Amphoreus, the next stop for the Astral Express and a location chosen for its remote isolation, with not even the Aeon of the Trailblaze, Akavili, able to explore this forgotten city. Based on Aglaea’s design, as well as the references hidden in her biography, Amphoreus appears to be a planet based on ancient Greece. Similar to Penacony, Amphoreus will likely be the main destination for the first few patches during the Version 3.0 update cycle.
If this is the first time you’ve heard the term, drip marketing refers to promotional material released for gacha game characters prior to their official unveiling. For Hoyoverse games like Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact, and, of course, Honkai: Star Rail release drip marketing a full version before the featured characters are added, giving players time to save up premium currency or change around their spending plans.
Aglaea and The Herta are the headlining 5-star characters of Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0, which will launch sometime in February 2025. In the meantime, Version 2.7, the final major patch of the Penacony era, will begin in early December 2024 and feature the ever-popular Sunday and Fugue (Tingyun) as featured new units.
