Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is one of two expansion (DLC) packs for Witcher 3. Like its base game, Blood and Wine features different ending sequences based on dialogue choices. The Blood and Wine DLC has a happy, sad, and mixed ending for the fates of the sisters Henrietta and Syanna. There are a few things you’ll need to do during the game’s finale to see the best (happiest) ending. This is how you can get the best ending in Witcher 3: Blood and Wine.

Find Damien and Syanna in the “Night of the Long Fangs” Quest
The “Night of the Long Fangs” quest sets the stage for Blood and Wine’s finale. In this quest, you’ll be given a choice to track down Damien or Orianna to find Syanna or the Unseen Elder. Choose to track down Damien when Geralt discusses the situation with Regis. Damien will give you the lead on Syanna when you meet him. From there, head to the playroom with or without Regis.
Read Through All Journal Entries
When you get to the playroom, you must investigate it further. There you’ll find a journal that includes various notes in it. Read through all the notes in the journal before selecting the “Today I visited the Land of a Thousand Fables” dialog option. Selecting that dialogue option will start the “Beyond Hill and Dale” quest.
Purchase the Ribbon for Syanna in “Beyond Hill and Dale”
Talk to the Little Flint Girl during the “Beyond Hill and Dale” quest. Ask the girl about the ribbon she has and select to purchase it for 500. That might be expensive, but you must obtain the ribbon to save Syanna. Alternatively, you can get hold of the ribbon by winning a game of Gwent.
Investigate the Fifth Victim
When you’ve finished off Detlaff, you’re given a choice to investigate the fifth victim. Select to investigate further to unlock the “Pomp and Strange Circumstance” quest. Then Geralt and Regis will head off to see the bootblack, who hands over a letter revealing the fifth target.
Tell Syanna to Forgive Henrietta
The final step for ensuring the best ending in Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is to tell Syanna to forgive Henrietta when Geralt speaks with her in prison during the “Pomp and Strange Circumstance” quest. If you fluff your lines then, you’ll see the most unfortunate ending. Select these dialogue options to get the happy ending:
- “Cause she turned her back on you, forgot about you.”
- “Ever thought to forgive her?”
- “Might ask her that.”
During the ending ceremony, tell Henrietta who the fifth victim was supposed to be. Then you’ll see the rest of the happy ending.
How to Get the Other Endings
If you really don’t care for a happy ending in Blood and Wine, all you need do is track down Orianna to find the Unseen Elder instead of Syanna. Then you can complete alternative “Blood Simple” and “What Lies Unseen” quests to see the saddest ending. Alternatively, don’t bother investigating the fifth victim to complete the “Pomp and Strange Circumstance” quest.
If you prefer to see the mixed ending, you’ll still need to complete the “Beyond Hill and Dale” quest. However, don’t obtain the ribbon from the Little Flint Girl during that quest. You’re also given a choice to spare or kill Detlaff if you go down that route, which has repercussions for the mixed ending.
So, what ending would you prefer in Blood and Wine? To see the best ending in Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, make sure you find Syanna, purchase her ribbon, and complete the “Pomp and Strange Circumstance” with the right dialogue choices. If you want to see them all, manually save a game at the beginning of the “Night of the Long Fangs” quest. Then you can go back to that save point to play through the final quests in Blood and Wine multiple times and see all the endings.
