Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a fantastic RPG with many cheat codes. However, you can only activate Witcher 3’s cheats by enabling that game’s debug console. With that console enabled, you can enter and activate a wide variety of character, inventory, combat, weather, and Gwent cheat codes throughout the game. Below are seven of the best Witcher 3 cheats to activate with that game’s debug console.

However, you’re going to need to enable the debug console in Witcher 3 first. There isn’t any in-game option you can select to enable that console. To enable the debug console, you must open and edit Witcher 3’s general.ini file in Notepad as follows:

  1. Open this Witcher 3: Wild Hunt folder path in File Explorer: The Witcher 3/bin/config/base. Base is a subfolder within Witcher 3’s installation directory.

  2. Right-click the general.ini file and select the Open with context menu option.
  3. Choose to open the general.ini file within Notepad.
  4. Then input DBGConsoleOn=true in a new line within the general.ini file like in the screenshot directly below.

  5. Click the File menu to select is Save option, and then close Notepad.

Now you should be able to utilize the debug console in Witcher: Wild Hunt. Start Witcher 3 to load a saved game. Then press the ~ keyboard key (usually just above the Tab button) to bring up the debug console shown directly below.

Note that playing Witcher 3 as Ciri does come with some limitations. You can’t select any quests when playing as Ciri. Nor can you access your item inventory. Nevertheless, you can still kill monsters throughout Velen, Skellige, Toussaint (in Blood and Wine), and White Orchard with Ciri.

Get Rich Quick

You can purchase anything and everything in Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with this console command for adding crowns to Geralt’s bank account. To get rich, input the addmoney(#) command in the debug console with an actual value. For example, inputting addmoney(100000) and pressing Enter will give you 100,000 crowns, which will probably be more than enough to get you through the game.

Add an Item to Your Inventory

You can add any number of items to your inventory by entering the additem(name,#) cheat command in the debug console. A specific item code must be included in the brackets, and you can also add an optional numeric quantity value. For example, you can get 10 apples for health replenishment by entering: additem(Apple,10).

You can utilize this command to add weapons, armor, foods, junk, drinks, mutagens, crafting components, ingredients, and other items to your inventory. Alternatively, you can set Geralt’s level with the setlevel(#) command. For example, inputting setlevel(45) will set your level to 45. Note that 70 is the highest level in the base Witcher 3 game. However, you can set Geralt’s level as high as 100 in the Blood and Wine expansion.

There are many more cheats you can activate with Witcher 3’s debug console. However, the Witcher 3 cheats above will be more than enough to guarantee completion. I recommend only utilizing those debug console cheats if you’re seriously stuck in Witcher 3.
