Crimson Desert – All Bird Pets List And How to Tame Birds

From easy early birds to the rare Phoenix, the Crimson Desert guide helps you track every bird pet and set up the right perch locations to tame them faster.

All Birds Pets List Crimson DesertBird pets are a new companion type in Crimson Desert, giving you another way to expand your pet collection beyond the usual cats and dogs. Unlocking them takes a little more setup than standard pet taming, but once you have the right faction quest progress and the proper perch, they become one of the more unique pets you can collect across Pywel.

1. How Bird Pets Work

Sotdae of Bond

Sotdae of Bond

Bird pets are part of the normal pet system, so once you tame one, it helps you loot nearby items just like other pets. The main differences are that birds use the Sotdae of Bond instead of direct feeding on the ground, and bird pets do not wear the normal pet armor that cats and dogs can use. One cool feature is that birds will land on your arm if you stand still for a while.

2. How To Get the Sotdae of Bond

Authorized Access Faction Quest

Authorized Access Faction Quest

You need the Sotdae of Bond before you can tame any bird pet. You need to complete the Authorized Access section of the Trembling Woods faction quest for the Pororin Forest Guardians.

That quest is tied to entering Florindale, southeast of the Hernand Highlands, where trying to enter the village causes you to be sleep-darted and introduces the guardian Arkin. If you have already completed the quest, the item will be waiting in your camp item storage.

  1. Go to the Florindale area, southeast of the Hernand Highlands.
  2. Let the Pororin Patrol sleep-dart you three times while trying to enter.
  3. After the third time, talk to Arkin near Outcast’s Hearth to start the access quest.
  4. Go to Trembling Gorge / The Ironwood and get the Pororin Relic from the giant walking tree man’s head.
  5. Return the relic to Arkin to unlock access to Florindale and the Pororin Forest Guardians area.
  6. Keep progressing the Trembling Woods faction quest until you finish Authorized Access.
  7. After that, you receive the Sotdae of Bond. If you already cleared it earlier, pick the item up from your camp item storage.

NOTE: With the new patch 1.04.00, you get new rewards when you log in, depending on how far you’re in your quests or in-game. Sotdae of Bond is also a new reward available, which you can use for bird taming after equipping.

3. How To Tame Birds

Filling Bird Feeder

Filling Bird Feeder

Once you have the perch, bird taming is straightforward. The goal is to place different kinds of food on the Sotdae of Bond to feed birds and gain trust. The perch holds a large amount of food and keeps it between uses, so it is efficient to load multiple food types into it. You can use Insects, Oats, Seeds, and Fruits in the perch.

  1. Put the Sotdae of Bond in your inventory.
  2. Place it down using placement input Ctrl + R on keyboard or LB + Y on controller.
  3. Interact with the perch and load it with food.
  4. Step back and wait for a bird to land, and let the bird continue feeding until it reaches 100 Trust.
  5. Approach it and use Take In to make it your pet.

4. All Birds Locations

Pigeon Pet

Pigeon Pet

There are a ton of new bird types in Crimson Desert, and each one is tied to a different habitat in Pywel. Once you unlock the Sotdae of Bond, taming birds becomes less about random encounters and more about finding the right species in the right region, then placing the perch where that bird can land, eat, and start building Trust.

Bird Pet Location Best Setup
Blue Jay Greymane Camp, on the cliff edge Place the Sotdae of Bond on the camp cliff edge and keep enough food on it for the bird to eat repeatedly.
Ringneck Parrot / Gray Parrot Greymane Camp, on the cliff edge Use the same camp cliff setup and wait longer.
Crow Greymane Camp, on the cliff edge Keep the perch at camp, refill it, and wait.
Sparrow Greymane Camp, on the cliff edge Leave the perch at camp and keep feeding it.
Seagull Demeniss port, on the shore or Riverbanks  Move the Sotdae of Bond to the shore at the main port or near rivers.
White Pigeon Trader’s Expanse area Place the perch in the Trader’s Expanse location on top of the mountains.
Other Pigeon type Trader’s Expanse area Same location as White Pigeon, leave perch and wait till it eats three or four times.
Eagle Crimson Desert region Place perch on the mountains and wait for Trust to get full.
Phoenix Crimson Desert region Travel to the area south of Trader’s Expanse.

5. How to Get Crow Pet

Crow Location

Crow Location

The Crow is one of the easier bird pets and the most wished-for additions to Crimson Desert. It tends to fit the same lower, open outdoor habitats as the more common birds, which makes riverbanks and similar water-adjacent areas the safest places to start.

  1. Place the Sotdae of Bond at the Greymane Camp cliff edge or in a low outdoor river area.
  2. Fill the perch with food. Use insects, meat, and plants, so keep the feeder stocked instead of leaving it empty.
  3. Wait for the Crow to land and eat from the perch. This is one of the best locations to get all the early bird pets.
  4. Let the Crow eat enough times to build Trust. Interact with the Crow once its Trust is high enough to turn it into a pet.

6. Best Tips for Taming Bird Pets

Bird Trust Level

Bird Trust Level

The best tips are the ones that help you build Trust faster, avoid wasting time in the wrong locations, and make it easier to tame common birds before moving on to the rarer ones.

  • Unlock the Sotdae of Bond before anything else. Bird pets only use the perch system, so you need this item first, or no bird taming progress will start.
  • Place the perch in the right habitat for the bird you want. Low river and open ground spots are better for common birds, while cliffs, mountains, shorelines, and desert regions are better for more specific bird types.
  • Keep the feeder stocked at all times. Birds need to land and eat repeatedly to build Trust, so an empty perch slows the whole process and makes taming take longer.
  • Stay in one good spot long enough for multiple visits. Moving the perch too early makes bird taming slower, especially because one location can attract more than one valid bird type over time.
  • Start with the easier birds before taming rare ones. Common birds are the fastest way to learn the perch, food, and Trust loop, while rarer birds are much easier to get once you already understand how the system works.
