The White Bear is one of the most imposing legendary mounts in Crimson Desert, giving Kliff a heavy combat-focused companion instead of a standard travel mount. It is built for players who want something stronger and more aggressive than a horse, especially when exploring dangerous snowy areas or riding into enemy territory for clearing zones.
1. White Bear Mount Requirements
The White Bear can be fought once you can reach its snowy location in Pailune, but it only becomes a permanent mount after you unlock access to a Witch NPC who can craft the sigil. The most common Witch used for this is Elowen at the Witch’s House in The Witchwoods, southwest of Hernand. You will unlock her during Chapter 5.
However, White Bear Mount doesn’t require following a Faction questline for unlocking like Silver Fang. Before hunting the White Bear, prepare the following:
- Bring plenty of healing food, because the White Bear hits hard at close range and can punish greedy attacks.
- Make sure your weapon and armor are refined, since this is a heavy melee fight rather than a simple taming encounter.
- Unlock the White Wastes Sanctuary Abyss Nexus if possible, because it gives you the fastest route back to the area.
- Keep space in your inventory for White Bear Claws, since this is the key material needed for the mount sigil.
- Unlock access to a Witch NPC before expecting to ride the bear permanently.
2. White Bear Location
The White Bear is found near Five Finger Mountain in the far northwest of Pailune. The easiest landmark is White Wastes Sanctuary, which sits close to the route. From the sanctuary, head south toward the snowy mountainside and look for a large white bear resting on the cliffs with cubs nearby.
Use this route to reach it:
- Travel to Pailune and head toward the far northwest section of the region.
- Use the White Wastes Sanctuary route if you have the Abyss Nexus unlocked.
- From White Wastes Sanctuary, move south toward Five Finger Mountain.
- Search the snowy cliffs below the sanctuary area.
- Look for the large White Bear with cubs nearby.
- Do not rush straight in, because the fight can begin quickly once you get too close or attack.
3. How To Beat the White Bear
The White Bear is a legendary combat mount, so you must defeat it before you can unlock it. This fight is about spacing and patience. The bear has heavy melee swipes, wide combo attacks, and a dangerous grab that punishes players who stay too close for too long.
It is safer to bait its attacks, dodge to the side, and punish after the recovery window instead of trying to trade hits directly.
Tips for Defeating White Bear
- Pull the White Bear away from the cliff edge before committing to the fight, since falling or getting knocked off can ruin the attempt.
- Keep enough distance to react to its heavy swipes and grab attempts.
- Dodge sideways when the bear charges or commits to a grab.
- Attack after its longer recovery animations instead of swinging during its active combo.
- Avoid standing between the bear and terrain, because its size can trap you in awkward spots.
- Watch the bear cubs nearby, since they can distract you or interrupt movement during the fight.
- Use mid-range attacks and Bow for ranged when possible to avoid staying inside the bear’s claw range for too long.
- Heal early rather than waiting until one more hit can finish you.
4. How To Get White Bear Claws
After defeating the White Bear, interact with the body and Skin it to collect White Bear Claws. This material is required to craft Sigil of Solidarity (White Bear), so do not leave the area without taking it. You will also get the White Bear Helm as a reward, which works as a disguise against other bears.
Make sure the White Bear Knowledge entry is acquired by going into your inventory before leaving. Keep the claws in your inventory and travel to a Witch NPC.
5. How To Craft Sigil of Solidarity (White Bear)
The White Bear Claws are a crafting resource from the White Bear. You need to take them to a Witch NPC and craft Sigil of Solidarity (White Bear). Elowen at the Witch’s House in The Witchwoods is one of the easiest Witch NPCs to use once unlocked. Use these steps:
- Travel to a Witch NPC, such as Elowen at the Witch’s House in The Witchwoods.
- Open the Witch menu and select Craft Abyss Gear.
- Switch to the Special Items tab and select Sigil of Solidarity (White Bear).
- Craft the sigil using 1x White Bear Claws.
- Open your inventory and use the sigil from your Key Items to register the mount permanently.
6. How To Summon the White Bear Mount
Once you use Sigil of Solidarity (White Bear), the White Bear is added to your permanent mount list. You do not need to fight it again or keep crafting the sigil. It becomes selectable from the same mount/character menu where you normally manage your horse. Use these steps:
- Open the mount wheel and highlight your current mount slot.
- Switch the selected mount to White Bear and confirm the selection.
- Use the normal mount summon input (H) to call the White Bear.
7. Is the White Bear Mount Worth Getting?
The White Bear is worth getting if you want a mount built for combat rather than speed. It has 1500 Health, 200 Stamina, 180 Attack, and 35 Defense, making it much tougher and stronger in combat than most travel-focused mounts.
It is not the best choice for fast long-distance travel, but its durability, swipe attacks, and multi-hit combos make it useful when clearing weaker enemies or moving through dangerous areas where a normal horse offers little support.
