Control includes numerous weapon mods for enhancing gun forms. The Eternal Fire weapon mod for Grip is a secret one you can only obtain by finding six TVs in and around the Furnace Chamber area in Maintenance Sector. As that’s one of the best weapon mods in Control, it’s worth taking the time to find and burn the six TVs required to get it. To equip the Eternal Fire mod, you’ll need to go through the list of furnace TV locations in Control below and toss each television into the FBC’s monstrous furnace with Launch.

Before you begin, however, there are a few things to note. Firstly, you’ll need the Levitate ability to reach some of the TV locations. Thus, Eternal Fire is supposed to be a secret mod you can only unlock later in the game.
Secondly, you’ll need to have completed Ahti’s “What a Mess: Burn the Trash” mission first. That’s a side mission you can select on the noticeboard within Janitor’s Office. When you’ve completed that mission, you’ll have become acquainted with the furnace you need to burn the TVs in. Just as in the “Burn the Trash” mission, you need to pick up a certain number of objects with Launch and toss them into the furnace. The main difference is that you need to burn TVs instead of bio-hazardous material containers.
Thirdly, make sure you have some weapon mod slots available for Grip. If you don’t have any mod slot spaces for new Grip mods, you might not receive Eternal Fire after burning all the TVs. Check Grip’s mod slots, and deconstruct a few weapon mods for that gun form if you don’t have any mod spaces available.
When you’ve got Levitate and completed the “Burn the Trash” mission, you can get the Eternal Fire mod. These are the six furnace TV locations in Control you’ll need to find to burn the televisions and receive Eternal Fire.
1. TV opposite the NSC Coolant Pumps Doors
Head toward the door with the NSC Coolant Pumps sign within the big NSC Power Plant room. Directly opposite that door, look for the unconnected pipe on a slightly higher platform shown directly below. There you’ll find a TV right next to the mouth of the pipe.
2. TV at the top of the NSC Power Plant
This one is relatively easy to find. Levitate to all the higher platforms up the power station within NSC Power Plant until you reach the very top of it. You might need to go up a few stairs and jump on a few outward pipes to reach some platforms. When you get to the summit of the power plant, you’ll discover a hidden location and the TV.
3. TV in Furnace Chamber
Head to the Control Paint closest to Furnace Chamber. Then walk through the Furnace Chamber room’s entrance. From the entrance of the chamber, turn directly left and walk toward the steel shelf in the screenshot below. There you’ll find a TV on top of that shelf.
4. TV just above the Furnace Chamber
Go to the Control Point next to the Furnace Chamber, and enter the chamber at the entrance there. After entering the chamber, utilize Levitate to fly up to a hole on the same wall as the Furnace Chamber entrance you just walked through. Then you should see the big, rectangular wall hole shown directly below. Fly through that hole into a hidden area just above the Furnace Chamber. Then you’ll find a TV behind a fence to your right after entering the area. To grab it, you’ll need to fly just above the fence and utilize Launch.
5. TV in the Coolant Pump Room
The best way to find this TV is to travel to the Control Point adjacent to the Furnace Chamber entrance. Then go through the NSC Coolant Pumps entrance there. Walk through the pipe tunnel area, and then fly through the hole in the wall to reach the NSC Coolant Pump Room. Upon entering that room, look for and fly to the blue pipe near the NSC Power Plant sign in the snapshot directly below. You’ll find a TV on a shelf right beside that pipe.
6. TV near the NSC Coolant Pump Door
This TV is in a small, unnamed room in the area that leads to the Furnace Chamber. To find it, go to the NSC Power Plant. Then walk through the door with the NSC Coolant Pumps sign on the lower floor there. From there, walk down the first stairs and turn directly right. You should then see a room door. Walk through that door to enter a small room where you’ll find the TV. The exact location of that room is marked on the map below.
When you’ve found all those furnace TV locations in Control and burnt the televisions, you’ll receive Eagle Fire along with some additional materials. Open your Grip mods to see and equip Eagle Fire. That mod provides a 100 percent ammo refund for every bullet hit. Therefore, you’ll seldom have to reload Grip with that mod equipped.
