8 Hidden Locations in Control

There are numerous hidden locations in Control, and this game guide tells you how to find eight of them. You’ll get an Ability Point to enhance Jesse’s abilities for every hidden location you discover. Make sure you don’t miss the hidden locations in Control below.

8 Hidden Locations in Control

Upgrading Jesse’s abilities is very important to completing Control. To do that, you’ll need to amass Ability Points, which you usually receive by completing missions. However, Control also includes 20 hidden locations that give players extra Ability Points when discovered. To find many of them, you’ll need the Levitate ability. 1. The top of the NSC Power Plant

This hidden location is quite easy to find. Head to the huge NSC Power Plant in Maintenance Sector. Then use Jesse’s Levitate ability to fly up to the various platforms on the NSC Power Plant. You might have to jump on some of the outward pipes to get a bit higher so Jesse can reach some of the platforms. Keep on levitating up the NSC Power Plant’s platforms until you reach the very top of it, shown in the screenshot directly below. You’ll get the Ability Point when standing at the summit of the NSC Power Plant.

2. The Fourth Floor of the Panopticon (Unit 716)

Head to the fourth floor of the Panopticon in the Containment Sector. When you get there, go to the Fortified Unit 716 room, where Jesse discovered Levitate. Run through all the wall holes within Unit 716, and then jump up and Levitate toward the beam of light. Keep on moving toward the beam of light at the very end of the room to scoop an Ability Point. Just move forward and Levitate as far you can in Unit 716 and you’ll find it.

3. Hidden Room on the Panoptocon’s Fifth Floor

This hidden room is on the Panoptocon’s fifth floor. Levitate up to the fifth floor from the fourth one. Move along the fifth floor’s platform toward the side with a swan object. If you look to the left of the fifth platform, you should then be able to see the square hole in the wall circled directly below. Levitate from the fifth platform toward and through that square hole to land. Then move into that hidden location to get your point.

However, there’s more than just an Ability Point at this hidden location. When you’re there, move toward the unit 6 object space and pick up the Typewritten Page Procedures collectible on the floor. Thereafter, an Alan Wake easter egg surprise will appear within the object display room.

4. The high window in Central Research

To find this hidden location, head over to the Central Research area in Sector Research. Then look up to spot the window shown in the screenshot directly below. When you see it, levitate as high as you can toward that window. You might need to climb on something to Levitate from to ensure Jesse can reach it. Break through the window to enter that hidden room and receive your Ability Point. You can also open a box there to pick up a mod.

5. Ceiling hole at Logistics Control Point

Go to the Control Point at the center of the Logistics area in Sector Containment. When you’re there, move toward the side of Logistics that includes the large U.S. map on its wall. Then look up toward the square hole in the ceiling shown directly below. Levitate up and through that square hole to land in the hidden room and get your Ability Point.

6. Ceiling hole at the Janitor’s Office

Head into the break room within the Janitor’s Office area in Central Maintenance. If you’re in the right room, you should see a big square hole in the ceiling. Levitate up through that square to discover a hidden location in a unmapped area and get an Ability Point.

Thereafter, you’ll need to Levitate to the numerous floating platforms to exit the unmapped area. You’ll also find mod boxes on some of those platforms. So, this is a good hidden location to get some new mods from.

7. Hidden Room at Transit Corridor South

Go to the Control Point at Transit Corridor South in Sector Containment. Thereafter, run toward and jump up to the platform just under the NYC Subway sign. From there, you should be able to see a window for a hidden room on the right side of the corridor. Levitate to and break that window to land in the room and get your Ability Point (plus a mod and collectible).

8. Hidden Room in the Firebreak Corridor

Travel to the Control Point at the Panopitocon Entrance on floor one. Then go into the Security room where Langston is. From there, enter the Firebreak bridge section. Move along the bridge a bit, and look to your right. You should see the square hole in the wall shown directly below. Levitate toward and through that wall hole to land in a hidden room. There you’ll get another Ability Point and can also open two mod boxes to boot.

Those are eight of the 20 hidden locations in Control. You’ll get eight Ability Points from them with which you can invest in two or three ability upgrades that will strengthen Jesse. You can also crack open boxes at some of those locations to pick up better mods.
