Vantage points are collectible items you can collect at various locations in Horizon Zero Dawn. Those time capsules show you what present-day ruins used to look like in the old world within Aloy’s Focus. Each vantage point also provides audio and text-based transcripts recorded by Bashar Mati to read within the Notebook tab. There are 12 of them in total, and you’ll receive the “All Vantages Found” trophy for finding all 12 of the Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point locations below.

First, I highly recommend purchasing a vantage point map from a merchant. That map shows the approximate (but not exact) locations of the vantage points within area circles, which makes them somewhat easier to find. Look through merchants’ Special Items to find one who sells a vantage map. You can also see the vantage locations on this interactive Horizon Zero Dawn map page. This is where you can find all the Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point locations.
Air Combat Academy
This Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point shows you the real-world Air Combat Academy building in Colorado Springs. You can find it by going to the vantage point location that’s just east of the Mother’s Cradle settlement on the map directly below. You’ll need to climb a few ledges of a rocky hill within its area to find the vantage cache.
Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs (otherwise the Metallurgic International office) is a Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point within a destroyed building of the Devil Thirst’s ruins on the eastern map side. To find it, look for yellow climbing hooks along the walls of the ruined buildings within the vantage point’s circle area at the Aloy marker position on the map directly below. Then climb up the building’s walls and ledges with the climbing hooks to reach the vantage cache. You’ll need to spring and jump from one ledge to another to continue climbing.
Explorer Museum
The Explorer Museum Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point location is almost directly north of Colorado Springs near the Devil’s Thirst Bandit Camp. You’ll find it atop a small rock just outside a forest at the Aloy marker spot shown directly below. Climb atop the rock to pick up the vantage cache and see the real-world Colorado Springs museum building.
Bridal Veil Falls
Bridal Veil Falls is a Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point location just south of the Two-Teeth bandit camp at the location shown directly below. It’s also quite close to Daytower, and some of the southeasterly path from that settlement passes through this vantage point’s circle area. To find the vantage cache, climb some mountain wall ledges within that circle area.
Monument Valley
Monument Valley is a Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point location within the southwesterly corner of the map near the Sunstone Rock settlement. Go to the exact Aloy marker spot shown on the map below and climb up the cliff ledges from there. Utilize the zip line at the top of the climbed cliffside to zip down to the vantage cache.
Eagle Canyon
The Eagle Canyon Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point is near Meridian Gate. Walk in a northerly direction from that gate up the Aloy marker point shown in the screenshot directly below. There, climb the ledges to reach the top of the cliff with the rappel rope branch. The vantage point cache is right beside the rappel rope branch.
Lake Powell
This Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point is atop a canyon along the lake on the western side of the map in the Dimmed Bones ruin area, relatively near the Blazen Arch settlement. To reach it, walk along the canyon toward the Aloy marker shown in the snapshot below. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you need to walk along a tightrope to cross a chasm in the canyon. Then grab a ledge almost next to the end of the rope to climb atop the canyon peak where the vantage cache is.
Bryce Orbital
Bryce Orbital is a vantage point that directly overlooks the Sunfall arena, where the Zero Dawn Alternative Entrance is on the west side of the map. Walk up and along the cliff toward the Aloy marker point in the screenshot below. There’s no serious climbing required for this one, but you’ll need to jump up a few rocky ledges to reach it toward the end. You’ll also need to eliminate a couple of robots by the Bryce Orbital vantage cache.
Faro Automated Solutions
This Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point shows you what the Faro Automated Solutions complex used to look like before it wreaked global devastation. To reach it, go to the Aloy maker point in the screenshot directly below, which is northeast of the Shattered Klin bandit camp near the Maker’s End ruins map area. There, you’ll need to climb up and around a large rock toward the rappel rope branch at the top of it to find this vantage cache. The ledge you grapple on to start climbing is on the side of the rock with the rappel branch.
Sterling-Maleet Amphitheater
The Sterling-Maleet Amphitheater vantage point is a straightforward one to find that’s just east of the SIGMA cauldron (northeast of Mother’s Crown). Walk to the Aloy marker shown in the screenshot below, where you’ll find the vantage cache on relatively low ground (no climbing required for this one). However, this vantage cache is in a corrupted zone full of hostile machines you’ll probably need to fight through first.
Denver Stadium
To see the Denver Stadium Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point, go to the ruined high-rise building within the Devil’s Grief ruins on the eastern side of the map. Walk within the walls of that ruined building to find some yellow climbing hooks along its walls. Climb up and along the interior walls of that building with the yellow hooks to reach the high ledge that includes the vantage cache. You can then enjoy the view of the former Denver Stadium.
King’s Peak
King’s Peak shows you what GAIA’s Prime looked like before the old world went to pot. Go to the Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point near GAIA’s Prime, shown below. It’s best to wait until you’ve reached the “Looming Shadow” main quest to find this one because it’s near a late-game location with many high-level robots. To find King’s Peak, climb up the ledges along the side of the mountain for this vantage point until you reach the top.
Those 12 Horizon Zero Dawn vantage point locations provide some great views of both the old world and the current HZD one, and their transcripts shed further light on the game’s story. They only provide brief audio recordings, but you can read their full-text transcriptions via the Notebook tab. You’ll also find small supply crates beside the vantage points that provide useful resources.
