Thankfully, there is a spot east of the Lifepod worth investigating full of both small and big Lead rocks to break. You don’t need any specific items to reach this farming route. Returning here with a Sonic Resonator in the future will make the harvesting more efficient, as you can collect more resources by being able to break the big rocks.
1. Where to Find Lead in Subnautica 2 in the Early Game?
This early-game farming route should help you get all the lead you need in Subnautica 2.
An excellent Subnautica 2 Lead location is available east of the default Lifepod, through a cave with a current inside. Make sure you have inventory space before heading out here. An Oxygen Tunic is also present near the end of the current to replenish oxygen when necessary.
- Start at the Lifepod for a frame of reference.
- Dive into the water.
- Swim east with the top UI indicator being between 75 and E.
- Keep swimming past the first cave you see.
- After you swim over a cliff with some wreckage on it, dive further down to about 18m.
- Enter the tunnel near more wreckage. You will know it’s the correct tunnel when you speed through the current.
- Keep on following the current.
- Take the eastern path to find several Lead rocks lying on the ground, which you can spot as faded purple rocks.
- Break the rocks with any basic tool. If you have none, you can still break these small deposits with your bare hands after a few tries in Subnautica 2.
- If you have the Sonic Resonator, you can break the much bigger deposits. Otherwise, stick to the smaller rocks on the ground.
If you don’t have a Sonic Resonator, you can simply go back to the Lifepod with the resources you just collected and craft one.
Extra Farming Route Tips
There is more Lead to harvest in the nearby general area than just the eastern route. In case you need more smaller rocks to break or have an inventory expansion for the bigger deposits, use the following locations in Subnautica 2:
- Directly under the current you used to get here, next to the Oxygen Tunic
- The Northern route instead of the eastern one, where you will see several rocks underneath a separate current
- The Cicada Wreck (Lander Garage) to the right of the northern path has many big rocks to break
You are able to get an entire inventory full of Lead in Subnautica 2 in this general area.
