Subnautica 2 Lithium Farming Guide

The Great Jaw south of the Lifepod and an area near the Hot Cave Base Camp are two excellent Lithium Farming routes in Subnautica 2 that every player should consider.

Subnautica 2 Lithium Farming GuideLithium is a resource for creating useful items in Subnautica 2, such as Plasteel Ignots and the Portable Oxygen Generator. You should get a Sonic Resonator to easily break apart this mineral for harvesting instead of primarily relying on a few spawn pickups.

A farming route consisting of the Great Jaw and the Hot Cave Base Camp is where Subnautica 2 players should start.

1. Where to Find Lithium in Subnautica 2? (Great Jaw)

There is a giant clam south of the Lifepod. Inside it are over a dozen pieces of Lithium to collect, making it suitable as an early-game farming route. Make sure the Sonic Resonator is in your inventory.

  1. Starting from the Lifepod as a reference, dive into the water and head south.
  2. Swim southeast past some wreckage hanging over a cliff.
  3. Swim south past another wreckage site to see a giant clam. If you have a Scanner out, you will see the clam is called Great Jaw.
  4. In the middle of the Great Jaw is an area full of deposits to break apart. You should see a broken-down Portable Oxygen Generator near one of the entrances.
  5. Avoid breaking the tendrils, as that will wake up the Great Jaw. Collect everything you want from here before the clam closes.
  6. Equip the Sonic Resonator and blow apart all the deposits here.
  7. Collect the Lithium and leave.
There is a sole Lithium available to collect without any tools on a table near a giant clam

Look for a Tailing Table north of the clam you were just at

There is also a lone Lithium spawn on a table near the Great Jaw that doesn’t require any tools to collect it. Use this location at the beginning of Subnautica 2 if you need this item before you have a Sonic Resonator and other similar tools.

  1. Go north of the Great Jaw from the last farming route.
  2. Look for a little clam on a table.
  3. Swim up to collect the sole Lithium spawn here without needing to break it apart.

2. Alternate Farming Route (Hot Cave Base Camp)

The next farming route is near the Hot Cave Base Camp that is directly southeast of the Lifepod. If you don’t have any Adaptation for Heat Tolerance to survive high temperatures, stick to the Great Jaw location for safety.

  1. From the Lifepod, go southeast. Make sure the top UI cursor is directly on SE.
  2. Keep swimming southeast past the Welcome Center and the rock formations behind it.
  3. Swim southeast until you notice a temperature reading appearing on your screen. If you’re swimming around in the morning, you should notice some orange clouds, too.
  4. Dive downward into one of the big holes in the ground.
  5. Lithium deposits are scattered on the cave’s walls, with one near the ground.
  6. Break them apart with your Sonic Resonator this collect this resource.
