Since Tiberium Dawn is 25 years old, you would think that the campaigns are too easy to challenge the honed minds of today. You would be wrong. These older games may have been simple, but they had numerous quirks and limitations that made them inherently difficult. These have been migrated to Command and Conquer Remastered to retain the feel of the original game.
I’ve included a screenshot of each mission to reveal some relevant details. In those missions where radar was available, I tried to take the screenshot after revealing everything of concern so you can use this to your advantage.
If you’d like some general tips and tricks for Command and Conquer Remastered then have a look at our multiplayer strategy guide. You can also pick up this fine collection at AllYouPlay.
GDI 1 – X16-Y42
Mission: Destroy all enemy forces
As can be expected, the first mission is very simple. You have to deploy your MCV into a Construction Yard, build a Power Plant and a Barracks, and train a bunch of Minigunners.
Honestly, the enemy forces are weak enough that you don’t even have to train any units, you can simply use the forces that are sent to you. Forget about the Turrets to the West of your base as your naval fleet will take care of those. Just send your ground forces North and kill all enemies, there aren’t many of them.
GDI 2 – Knock Out That Refinery
Mission: Destroy the enemy Refinery
The second mission takes place on the same map as the first. You have to redeploy your MCV, repair your Power Plant and Barracks, and build more Minigunners.
Set a few units to the West of your base to defend against an incoming attack or 2 and send the rest North to the enemy base. The enemy forces are minimal again and you should have no problem destroying their Refinery.
GDI 3 – Air Supremacy
Mission: Destroy all Nod SAM Sites to receive air support, then destroy all Nod units and structures.
Deploy your MCV and build a base. You can use your starting troops to scout around your base. You’ll find the first 2 SAM Sites to the East and North-East of your base, then another further East.
The Nod base is to the North of the map and the last SAM Site is located just West of there. It’s hidden behind a tree so look carefully. Once you’ve destroyed all SAM Sites you’ll have access to Air Strikes to take care of their base defenses. Since their base defenses consist only of Turrets, which are useless against infantry, you can opt to forget about the Air Strikes and just send your ground forces to take them out and destroy the base.
Grenadiers are very useful in this mission, just be careful not to attack too close to your own troops as their grenades cause damage to everyone.
GDI 4 A – Stolen Property (Belarus)
Mission: Recover the Nod shipping crate containing stolen GDI property.
Load your infantry into your APC’s to transport them safely across the Tiberium field above you. Unload them once you’ve cleared the field.
The road moves East to a dead end, move to the North and proceed East from there. Follow the road South-East to the bottom of the map, then West where you’ll find the enemy base. You will encounter a tank and some infantry but nothing to worry about.
Once you’ve entered the enemy base, kill the troops and destroy the Hand of Nod, then proceed deep into the base where you’ll find the supply crate. Retrieve the crate to complete the mission.
GDI 4 AW – Stolen Property (Poland)
Mission: Recover the Nod shipping crate containing stolen GDI property.
You only receive a small number of units and you are surrounded by Tiberium which is poisonous to your infantry. To transport them safely, load them into your APC’s first.
Cross the Tiberium field next to you and proceed West along the road, there’s a road leading North but there’s nothing up there. Unload your infantry once you’ve cleared the Tiberium.
The road splits again, North is a dead end so continue West, then North when you reach the edge of the map. You will encounter some forces along your way but nothing serious, just remember to check behind trees.
Once you cross the river, you’ll walk right into an enemy base. They have a tank and a few infantry standing by their Hand of Nod, take these out. The supply crate is to the upper side of the base, send a unit to retrieve it to complete the mission.
GDI 4 BW – Reinforce Bialystok
Mission: Nod is trying to capture a civilian town. Find the town, defend it, and destroy all Nod units and structures.
Move your forces to the West as there are a few Nod units you need to kill first. Next, move South until you reach the river then cross to the East. Move to the end of the map and follow the road South to find the town. There are 2 tanks located to the South-East of the map so be careful of them.
Finally, just wait for all Nod waves to arrive and kill them.
GDI 5 A – Restoring Power (Ukraine West)
Mission: Find the GDI base and defend it against further attacks. Destroy all Nod units and structures.
The base is located to the East of your current position. First, repair all your buildings, then build some more forces.
The enemy base is located to the North-East. They have some tanks and Turrets so take sufficient Grenadiers along to deal with those. There are also a couple of SAM Sites scattered across the map which you’ll need to scout for.
GDI 5 AW – Restoring Power (Germany West)
This mission is an exact copy of GDI 5 A.
GDI 5 B – Restoring Power (Ukraine East)
Mission: Find the GDI base and defend it against further attacks. Destroy all Nod units and structures.
There’s a path to the East, follow that North until you find your base. Repair all buildings, then build an attack force.
The enemy base is located just South-West of yours. Bring some Grenadiers to deal with the Turrets at the base entrance. All SAM sites are located inside the enemy base. This is the only one of the GDI 5 missions where you have a Communications Center that provides radar.
GDI 5 BW – Restoring Power (Germany East)
Mission: Find the GDI base and defend it against further attacks. Destroy all Nod units and structures.
Move your forces South and avoid the Tiberium fields. Once you reach the bottom of the map your base is located just East of your position. Enter the base and repair all structures, then train a few extra units to take out the enemy.
The enemy base is located to the North and is guarded by 3 Turrets so bring some Grenadiers. Destroy everything to complete the mission. There is a lone SAM site just South of the enemy base.
GDI 6 A – Havoc
Mission: Use the Commando to infiltrate the enemy base and destroy the Hand of Nod.
This might be the most difficult mission in the GDI campaign, at least, it was for me. In this mission, you will only receive a single Commando unit. The Commando can take out enemy troops from a distance and can set C4 to bomb enemy structures but he is vulnerable to enemy vehicles.
Move slowly and always check for enemies behind trees. Move North across the bridge and destroy the 2 SAM Sites to receive a Transport Helicopter. Enter the helicopter and fly over the river to the green flair marker.
After getting out of the helicopter, move West and up the side of the map to take out a SAM Site so your helicopter doesn’t get shot down. Then move back to the green flair and proceed North.
There is a Nod Buggy patrolling above you. Wait till they move East then you can slip past them to the North. Once you get close to the base they will send several units to take you out so you might need to dance around them using the Transport Helicopter.
From the North, you’ll find a path moving East into the enemy base. The Hand of Nod is located near the entrance and can be taken out with C4.
GDI 7 A – Destroy the Airship
Mission – Destroy the Nod base.
This mission plays on the same map as the last so you should know your way around. Use your reinforcements to clear the enemies nearby and deploy your MCV to start building your base.
There is a Tiberium patch just to the North of where you land and another further North at the edge of the map.
You can leave the infantry at home as you’ll be moving through some Tiberium fields. You can build mostly Medium Tanks with a few Light Scouts for support against infantry. Move your forces to the top of the map, then East into the enemy base, the same way you entered in the previous mission.
Take everything out.
GDI 8 A – U.N. Sanctions
Mission: Repair your base and destroy all enemy units and structures.
Repair all your buildings except the silos, you can sell those as they are not useful in this mission and will provide you some additional funds. You can only train infantry in this mission so be careful with your vehicles. Send your vehicles to the Repair Facility until they are all full health before attacking. They announced that a future patch will allow you to queue units for the Repair Facility, this might be live by the time you’re reading this guide.
The enemy team will have a lot of Flamethrower Infantry who will eat through your troops so try and take them out quickly. Also, be wary of the Artillery as they do explosive damage which is also highly effective against infantry. Focus on building Grenadiers and a few Rocket Soldiers, they will be the most effective against the enemy units you will encounter.
The enemy base is located to the far North-West. There is a small entrance guarded by 2 Turrets, but these should not pose any problem. There are also some stray units to the North East but you’ll need to cross the bridge just North of your base to get to them.
GDI 8 B – Doctor Mobius
Mission: Protect Doctor Mobius and the civilian population. Destroy all enemy forces.
Start your base right where you are, there is a Tiberium field to the East of your current position with the civilian town located to the West. Send some of your units to the town to provide protection and put Doctor Mobius somewhere out of harm’s way.
The enemy has 2 bases in this mission located to the North-East and North-West respectively. The North-Eastern base houses their Airfield while the North-Western base holds the Construction Yard and Hand of Nod. Both are protected by 4 Turrets. Note that as soon as you attack their base, they will send Transport Helicopters with infantry to the civilian town so be sure to have units there for protection.
Be sure to save your progress every so often. I failed this mission several times for unknown reasons as I didn’t see any enemies near the civilian town or Doctor Mobius.
GDI 9 A – Clearing a Path
Mission: Destroy the enemy Turrets along the river to make way for our Gunboats, then destroy their base.
Build your base and send some units to destroy the Turrets, you should already have visibility of these. There is another set of Turrets on the other side of the river. You will receive a small group of soldiers on that side to take those out.
The enemy base is located to the far East. There is an Obelisk of Light inside the base that will also fire at your Gunboats so you’ll have to destroy that as soon as possible.
GDI 10 A – Orcastration (Slovenia)
Mission: Destroy all enemy units and structures.
You finally have access to the Orca aircraft. You are surrounded by enemy Turrets which are all located on higher ground so getting to them with your ground forces can be tricky, the Orcas will come in handy here.
The first Turret is just below you so be careful with your ground troops. The Orcas have a limited ammo supply and will need to return to base after a few shots. You need 3 Orcas to take out a Turret.
There are a number of Turrets in the area. I would suggest sending a single infantry unit to scout and send the Orcas once you find one. You can build your ground army while taking care of the Turrets and send them to the enemy base in the South once the path is clear.
There’s an Obelisk of Light at the entrance which you can destroy with your Orcas. They have a SAM Site there too but your Orcas should be fine. Once that’s cleared, just send your vehicles in to clean house.
There are 2 additional SAM sites located to the far South which you will need to scout for.
GDI 10 B – Orcastration (Romania)
Mission: Destroy all enemy units and structures.
This mission is pretty much the same as GDI 10 A with the map turned on its side. This time you start in the South-West with the enemy base located to the North-East. For instructions on completing this mission, see the details on GDI 10 A.
GDI 11 A – Code Name Delphi
Mission: Rescue your intelligence operative, Delphi.
When landing on the beach you will be met with 3 Turrets. Use your infantry to destroy the one on the right, then send your troops and MCV East, you can ignore the other Turrets. Follow the path North-East, avoiding the remaining 2 Turrets until you come to the clearing where you can build your base. There are Tiberium fields to the East and West of here but the West patch is in range of another Turret.
After you’ve established a base you can train some ground forces and send them to the North-West where you’ll find the entrance to the enemy base. Destroy everything and move to the North-Eastern corner of the map where Delphi is located. Once you get close, a Transport Helicopter will be sent to take him to safety.
GDI 12 A – Saving Doctor Mobius (Albania)
Mission: Destroy all SAM Sites so air support can evacuate Doctor Mobius.
First, load Doctor Mobius into the APC to keep him safe, then repair your Power Plants to get the base up and running again. Build a small force and go scouting for those SAM sites. Leave Mobius in your base.
There’s a civilian town just North of your base that shows up red on the radar. You can attack them but they pose no threat. There is a SAM Site located further North in the corner of the map.
There’s an enemy base to the North-West, some of the SAM Sites are located here and there are also 2 Obelisks of Light to be aware of.
Once the SAM Sites have been destroyed, a Transport Helicopter will appear. Send Doctor Mobius into the helicopter and send him on his way.
GDI 12 B – Saving Doctor Mobius (Bulgaria)
Mission: Destroy all SAM Sites so air support can evacuate Doctor Mobius.
Leave Doctor Mobius in your base, preferably inside an APC. Destroy the SAM Sites around your base and head North where you’ll find another SAM Site protected by a single Turret.
The enemy base which holds the rest of the SAM Sites is located to the West. Watch out for the 2 Obelisks of Light. Once the SAM Sites have been destroyed, load Doctor Mobius into the Transport Helicopter that’ll arrive in your base.
GDI 13 A – Ion Cannon Strike (Yugoslavia West)
Mission: Build an Advanced Communication Center to gain access to the Ion Cannon, then destroy the enemy base.
Get your base up and running and start building your forces. Remember to build a Repair Facility as this will give you access to the slow, but powerful Mammoth Tank.
There’s a small mining base located just North of your location but the primary enemy base is located further North. There are 2 Turrets and 2 Obelisks of Light protecting the main base but a few Mammoth Tanks should have no problem busting through there.
Don’t rely on the Ion Cannon to give you an edge, even when just targeting a single building, it doesn’t do that much. It’s most useful in taking out an Obelisk of Light, or a group of enemy infantry bunched together. However, the real target in this mission is a bio facility located to the North-East which is inaccessible by most of your ground forces. You can use your Ion Cannon to destroy this building once you’ve revealed it or use Orcas if you bothered to make any of those.
GDI 13 B – Ion Cannon Strike (Yugoslavia East)
This mission is an exact copy of GDI 13 A.
GDI 14 A – Fish in a Barrel
Mission: Destroy the Nod forces moving through the area before they can join their main force.
Move your forces East and cross the bridge, this will lead to a long pathway down which the enemy forces will be traveling. There is a hill in the middle where you can position your troops to destroy the enemies as they pass while having the higher ground advantage. Move slowly and take out the enemy groups individually and this will be one of the easiest missions in the late campaign.
Once the enemy convoys have been destroyed, scout to the South and North-East to find some hiding Stealth Tanks.
GDI 15 A – Temple Strike (Sarajevo West)
Mission: Destroy all enemy units and structures.
You only receive a single Medium Tank and MCV to start this mission. Cross the bridge before deploying your MCV or you won’t have enough space to build your base. There is a Tiberium field located just to the East and South-West of the bridge and an enemy Turret just on the other side of each of them although they are not in range of the Tiberium so your harvesters will be safe.
After building a Power Plant, build a Barracks and train 5 Grenadiers, these will be a great help in the early game.
The entrance to the enemy base is located to the South of where you built your own, about in the middle of the map. Be sure to leave some anti-infantry units back home as they will send a Transport Helicopter filled with Engineers to capture some of your buildings.
Their base is quite extensive and the Temple of Nod, where Kane is hiding, is located at the South-East corner. There are also a few stray buildings in the South-West corner.
Destroy everything.
GDI 15 B – Temple Strike (Sarajevo East)
Mission: Destroy all enemy units and structures.
Cross the bridge with your MCV before deploying or you won’t have enough space for a decent base. Use your Medium Tank to protect your MCV. There’s a Tiberium field right above the bridge but there’s also an enemy Turret within range so take that out as soon as possible. Training a few Grenadiers early will help to survive the start.
The enemy base is located to the West and spans out North-East. Be sure to leave some anti-infantry units back home as they will send a Transport Helicopter filled with Engineers to capture some of your key buildings. You’ll have to explore the entire map as there are a number of stray Turrets scattered around.
Leave none alive.
GDI 15 C – Temple Strike (Sarajevo Center)
Mission: Destroy all enemy units and structures.
Deploy your MCV immediately, no need to cross a bridge like the other versions of this mission. There are 2 Nod buildings to your left. An APC will arrive with 2 Engineers which you can use to capture these buildings.
There are Tiberium fields below you with 2 Turrets within range of your Harvesters. Train a few Grenadiers and take these out. There are 2 more Turrets further South which will be a nuisance later.
The enemy base is located to the West of your location but you have to cross a bridge to get there, which is tricky when commanding a large force. Make sure your vehicles don’t try and find a way around because they will be within range of an Obelisk of Light.
The rest of the enemy base expands to the South, they have numerous defenses, and the Temple of Nod is located right at the end. There are several single buildings scattered across the map so you’ll have to scout to find them all.
Vanquish your enemies.

This is a nice skeleton but really, that’s all it is. A lot of this stuff is stating the obvious. What people are looking for are some strategy tips and a guide. Not just restating the mission objectives. i.e “how” to do things.
Luan Erasmus
Hi Dylan,
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. As the title of the article suggests, this is a walkthrough guide, i.e. basic steps to complete the campaign. I created a separate strategy guide for new players which you can see here: Command and Conquer Remastered: Multiplayer Strategy Guide – KeenGamer
The old Command and Conquer games didn’t reveal the map from the start like more modern RTS games so in my experience players often play a mission once just to feel out the map, then a second time with better strategy once they know where everything is. I hope you at least found some value here.

Its a copy and paste job
Carlos
If you play NOD and capture a GDI MCV, you can build the advanced guard tower.
But if you are GDI and capture a NOD MVC, you can’t build the obelisk of light.
Isn’t that unfair?
Luan Erasmus
Hey Carlos,
I haven’t tested that specifically but sounds like it could be a bug. I’d suggest submitting a support request with EA
