Command and Conquer Remastered’s Aftermath campaign was definitely the most interesting of them all due to the crazy new units that were introduced. Unfortunately, these units were not at all balanced, resulting in some missions being way too easy. They were so unbalanced that there’s now an option to disable them when playing multiplayer matches. Nevertheless, this campaign has been a lot of fun and I’m glad that I finally managed to finish it since I never owned Aftermath with the original game. If you enjoy this guide, make sure to check out some of our other guides for the Allied and Soviet campaigns, as well as the Counterstrike campaign.
Finally, if you still haven’t gotten this insane collection, AllYouPlay can hook you up. Without further ado, let’s dive into it.
Italy – Harbor Reclamation
Mission: Destroy the Soviet Sub Pens and Tech Center.
You will want to remain undetected as long as possible. As soon as the Soviets or any of the civilians in the area discover you, the attacks will commence. Build a Barracks before your Refinery because an enemy unit will discover your base very early but you can still avoid detection if you can kill him before he gets away.
You have access to 2 new units in this mission, the Chrono Tank and Demolition Truck. The Chrono Tank fires missiles like your Rocket Infantry but can teleport anywhere on the map, even somewhere you don’t have vision yet. Their Chronoshift ability needs time to recharge so use it wisely. The Demolition Truck carries a nuclear payload and will detonate upon impact. This is very useful to take out an important enemy structure like a War Factory or defensive line. Both these units are incredibly expensive though.
There’s water to the North and South of your base. When building a Naval Yard, use the Northern river as the one to the South doesn’t lead anywhere. The Northern side also only has limited access with a few Submarines so building too many ships will be a waste.
The enemy base is spread across the entire top half of the map. There’s a small base to the far East and another North of your base that pose no threat. The main base that contains your objectives is in the far North. Once you’ve destroyed the Tech Center and Sub Pen, you can go ahead and remove the rest of the Soviet presence from the area.
Italy – In the Nick of Time
Mission: Rescue the captured scientists so they can prevent the Chronosphere from exploding.
Take your units along the path and continue West through the hills. When you reach the shore on the other side you’ll receive some reinforcements including a Demolition Truck. Keep the Demolition Truck separate from your other units, if it is destroyed it might wipe out your entire army.
Proceed North along the path where you’ll find a civilian town. Eliminate the enemy forces in this town to receive a few more units, among which is a Mechanic. This unit works like the Medic, but for vehicles. Have him repair your damaged vehicles when needed.
Continue following the path, there’s nowhere else to go until you reach the captured base in the North-West. Be careful when entering the base that your units don’t attack the Chronosphere as this will cost you the mission. The scientists are kept inside the Soviet research center. Once you’ve rescued them, a bunch of Mammoth Tanks will appear from the North. They will try and destroy the bridge in the middle of the map to prevent your escape. Destroy them before they can do so, then move your forces and the scientists back to your starting location. Just be careful of additional Mammoth Tanks who’ll arrive when you reach the Southern shore.
Italy – Caught in the Act
Mission: Destroy the Soviet research facilities. Tanya must survive.
Load Agent Tanya into the Transport and move her to the island to the North. You’ll receive a few additional infantry units to assist in this mission. There are a few enemy infantry units on this island and there is a blue crate to heal your units when you claim it. There are 2 more islands in your immediate vicinity. Both these islands will have some friendly and enemy troops and Tanya should be able to clear them out easily.
There’s another island to the far East. Don’t send Tanya onto this island alone because the Attack Dogs might kill her. Also, keep your eyes open for a Hind Attack Helicopter who will try and kill Tanya when she lands here, take this helicopter out with some of your Rocket Soldiers. This island has one of the research facilities you need to destroy as well as the Helipads that house those annoying Hinds.
Next, move all your units to the island in the North-East. You’ll receive some more reinforcements when you arrive. I don’t know what you’re supposed to use the Spy or Engineers for, there’s no need to capture any buildings and all the islands are crawling with Attack Dogs. There’s an enemy base above you but the entrance is guarded by Flame Towers. Use your Rocket Soldiers to shoot a hole in the perimeter wall and enter the base from the bottom. There’s another research facility inside this base as well as a few more Helipads.
Finally, move your units to the North-Western island. Your reinforcements will finally include some tanks but be careful with them as the enemy base has Tesla Coils that are not that far out of range. You will need to amass all your forces on this island and attack the base head-on or the base defenses will kill Tanya and cost you the mission. Once all your forces are on the island, head on in there and kill everything.
Italy – Production Disruption
Mission: Take the Soviet base offline and capture the Radar Dome. Then, take out the Sub Pens to prevent them from producing their new Submarines. If any Submarines are produced, they must not escape.
Send your infantry North-East where you’ll find 2 Power Plants. Kill the soldiers you meet on the way and destroy the Power Plants to take the enemy base offline. This will allow you to receive further reinforcements, however, you’ll only receive some Demolition Trucks and Engineers so you won’t be building any bases.
The path to the North is guarded by 2 Flame Towers. Use the Demolition Trucks to take these out and allow safe passage. You’ll see the Radar Dome to the East, take out the soldiers guarding it, and capture it with your Engineers. You’ll now receive a few Chrono Tanks further North. Some units will arrive to destroy your infantry and the Radar Dome you captured, this will not affect the mission so no need to worry.
Take your new Tanks North-East and move them along the side of the enemy base so you can avoid the defenses at the entrance. When you reach the top of the island you should see the Sub Pen to the West. You can blow a hole in the wall to move through or use your Chronoshift ability to move next to it. Take out the Sub Pen to complete the mission.
Poland – Monster Tank Madness
Mission: Repair your outpost and rescue Dr. Demitri. Send a Spy into the Radar Dome to reprogram the Super Tanks.
Move your troops North where you’ll find a small Soviet base. Send your Thief into the Silo to steal some credits and use one of your Engineers to capture the Sub Pen. This will allow you to build a Transport and move your units further North. Use your other Engineer to capture the Silo and steal the remaining credits.
Build a Transport and load your tanks then send them West, you’ll see a landing spot on the island to the North. There’s a V2 Rocket Launcher nearby, use your tanks to take him out and send the rest of your troops across. Move further North where you’ll find your base. You should now have enough funds to repair all the buildings. Send all your ground troops South but stick to the shoreline to avoid any Tesla Coils. When you reach the Southernmost part of the map, Dr. Demitri will emerge from a Civilian Town. Move him back to your base and load him into the Transport Helicopter that should be waiting by now and you’ll receive some additional reinforcements.
Sell your Refinery and Repair Depot to gain enough funds to train a Spy. The Super Tanks will be on their way to your base so move quickly. Move your units and the Spy North-East, be careful of Attack Dogs. The Radar Dome you need to infiltrate should be revealed to the East. Move your forces there and clear the way for your Spy to infiltrate it, then watch as the Super Tanks kill your enemies for you. You can help them out of course if you get bored.
Poland – Time Flies
Mission: Destroy the Radar Domes then use Agent Tanya to remove the enemy defenses. Finally, build your base and destroy the enemy Missile Silos.
Use your Chrono Tanks to kill the units on the island you’re stationed on, then use their Chronoshift ability to move to the island that’s visible in the East. Move your units North-West and destroy the Radar Dome you find. You should also go ahead and destroy the Flame Towers and SAM Sites along your way. Continue along the path where you’ll find a Soviet prison, destroy this to receive an Engineer. Another island has been revealed to the East, Chronoshift your tanks there and clear out the island. There is another Radar Dome here along with a bunch of defensive structures and units. Kill everything.
When the second Radar Dome has been destroyed, Agent Tanya will be dropped on another island to the North. Send Tanya North until you reach the river crossing. There are a few infantry units on your way there but nothing to worry about. The other side of the river has 2 Flame Towers with oil barrels surrounding them, shoot the barrels to destroy the towers. Past them are a couple of Power Plants, destroy these to receive your MCV to start your base. You can Chronoshift your tanks to your base now.
The Soviets have 2 bases to the East, one below the other. Each base houses one of the Missile Silos you need to destroy. The bases are guarded by several Flame Towers and Tesla Coils but not that many units. You can use Attack Helicopters to take out the defenses but honestly, a medium-sized ground army will be more than sufficient to get the job done.
Poland – Pawn
Mission: Defend your base until reinforcements can arrive then take out the Soviet Radar Dome to cut off their reinforcements and finally, destroy all Soviet units and structures.
Get your troops together and use them to defend your base. Most of the buildings in the base are fake and the only units you can produce are infantry. You’ll have access to a Mine Layer, use this to lay mines around your base. This can be a tedious exercise but these mines are incredibly effective against enemy vehicles. Try not to spend any of the funds you have as this will help you later when building your base.
A few minutes before the timer runs out, you’ll receive some additional units to the North-West. Use these units to enter the Soviet base in the North and destroy their Radar Dome to cut off their reinforcements.
When the timer runs out completely, you’ll receive a few more units along with an MCV to build a functional base. You can sell all the fake buildings if you like, this will make some space for you to place new buildings. When your base is up and you have a sufficient ground force, send them North and take out that base. The Construction Yard is in the Eastern side of the base, once you destroy this, they’ll sell all other buildings and try to kill you with mass infantry.
Poland – Negotiations
Mission: Rescue the civilians and hide them in the abandoned church, then return to your off point for evacuation. Finally, destroy the remaining enemy forces.
The Soviets will kill a civilian every 5 minutes so you need to move quickly. Select Agent Tanya, and move her Eastw as there are Flame Towers to the North that you can’t get past. You’ll meet a lot of units on your way so be careful, especially with the attack Dogs. When your path East is blocked by another Flame Tower, you’ll also see 2 SAM Sites, destroy these and Attack Helicopters will arrive to destroy the Flame Tower. Just past this tower is a small village under attack, kill the Soviet infantry shooting at the buildings and proceed North.
A large group of infantry is approaching from the North, be careful of the Tesla Soldiers in that group. Once past them, move West as a Heavy Tank is guarding the path North. A bit further on is another village and here you’ll find the civilians that are being held hostage. Kill all the Soviet soldiers and take the civilians back to the church you passed earlier, you can’t command the civilians but they’ll follow Tanya. Be careful as there is another Heavy Tank to the South, try your best to avoid him.
The Heavy Tank you passed earlier is now standing right next to the church. When you approach this section, he’ll patrol North again. Move to the Northernmost part of the map and keep your distance until he passes, then slip past him. You need to move quickly as he’ll return soon. Once you reached the church, the civilians will hide inside, now get Tanya back to your drop off point to receive reinforcements. You’ll now have more than enough units to take out all Soviet forces.
Poland – Absolute M.A.D.ness
Mission: Infiltrate the 3 Soviet information Centers with your Spy to reveal the location of the new tank control station. Destroy the control station and the Iron Curtain.
First, get your base’s power back up by building 2 Advanced Power Plants, then start assembling your ground forces. The M.A.D. Tanks are visible in the middle of the map, but you can’t attack them as they are protected by the Iron Curtain. There are 3 Soviet bases to the South, South-East, and East respectively and each contains an Information Center you need to infiltrate. There are Attack Dogs everywhere so don’t send your Spies in alone, but the bases are well defended so you’ll need a lot of units.
Once the Information Centers have been infiltrated, the control station will be revealed in the South-East. Send a few Chrono Tanks there using their Chronoshift ability and take out the control station and the rest of the Soviet forces to complete the mission.
France – Testing Grounds
Mission: Reclaim the island by eliminating all Allied units and structures.
This mission provides you some units you may not have seen before. First, we have the Tesla Tank and it’s exactly what you expect. This light-armored tank can shoot electricity and deal a lot of damage, just be aware of its high cost. You also have the Missile Sub. Unlike your normal Submarines, these vessels can’t fire on enemy ships but rather fire missiles at ground units and structures. There is very little Naval resistance in this mission so don’t focus too much on Submarines. Also, keep in mind that don’t have access to the Spy Plane and you can only build Yaks for this mission so Airfields are pretty much useless.
The enemy’s ground resistance is much more of a threat so be sure to bring enough guns to the party. The enemy base is spread across the Northern part of the island. Be aware that once you attack their base, a few Chrono Tanks will shift into your base so be sure to either have every inch covered with Tesla Coils or keep a few units behind.
France – Let’s Make a Steal
Mission: The Allies are developing a new vehicle. Use Agent Volkov to steal it and prevent the Allies from producing more.
In this mission, you will have access to Agent Volkov and his Cybernetic Dog. Agent Volkov is like the Soviet’s answer to Agent Tanya, only much harder to kill. His dog resembles other Attack Dogs but seems to be immune to bullets. These units are so overpowered, this mission should be a breeze.
Move down the Southern hallway, kill the units you see to the East and interact with the control station there. You’ll hear something blowing up in the distance. Don’t move further South as there’s a room with a Pillbox which you’ll struggle to get past. Instead, move North-East. You’ll find another control station in a room and interacting with it disables the power for a few minutes. This limits your visibility which is rather annoying.
Continue East until you reach the end of the map, then move South and interact with the control station in the first room. Continue South through this room into the next where you’ll find a Technology Center. Infiltrate this building with Agent Volkov to steal the plans you came for. Move back North and proceed South the first chance you get. There’s another control station in the hallway to interact with, then continue South until you can move West. Don’t go further South as there’s another Pillbox in the way.
You will find a large room filled with dormant Medium Tanks. Move South through this room until you find another hallway leading West. You have a few soldiers in this room who will be killed as soon as you enter. I suspect that if you enter this room while the power was disabled you might have a chance at saving them, but these units will just be extra baggage so letting them die is not a concern. Proceed further South until the hallway splits. To the East, you’ll find a blue crate to heal your units if needed, to the West is a War Factory you need to infiltrate. Just move past the War Factory first and interact with the control station on the other side, this will destroy the Pillbox I mentioned earlier.
Enter the War Factory to steal a vehicle and move North-East toward the escape point which has now been revealed. Some Allied Tanks will arrive to stop you and your newly acquired vehicle is no match for them. However, if you wait a few moments, you’ll receive reinforcements in the form of Demolition Trucks. They’ll arrive from the Eastern point you need to reach with your stolen vehicle. Drive these trucks into the enemy tanks and your path will be cleared.
France – Test Drive
Mission: Use your newly acquired Stealth Tank to infiltrate the enemy base and destroy their Radar Dome and Tech Center. Once done, you’ll receive reinforcements to destroy the rest of the base. The Stealth Tank must not be destroyed.
Load Agent Volkov into the Stealth Tank and move North toward the Allied base that’s been revealed. You need to keep a safe distance from enemy units because they’ll fire on you if you get too close. Once in the base, unload Volkov to bomb the Tech Center. The Radar Dome is located in a second base to the South-East. Load Volkov into the Stealth Tank again and move him there to take it out.
When the Radar Dome and Tech Center are gone, you’ll receive a few Submarines to the South. Use them to clear the waters so your Transports can get through and bring additional ground forces. After they’ve landed safely, destroy the remainder of the Allied forces. You’ve already discovered 2 of their bases but they have a third in the North-East.
France – Don’t Drink the Water
Mission: Poison the water supply using one of the Cargo Trucks then capture the Chronosphere so you can teleport an MCV to the large island. Once you’ve built a base, capture the Research Center and destroy the rest of the base.
Move your units North-East along the path. There’s a shortcut that’s guarded by a Pillbox but the path will take you around. Once you reach the end of the path, move the Cargo Truck next to the river by the waterfall. This will poison the water and kill the units in the base to the West. Now you can move in and capture the Chronosphere and the Power Plants with your Engineers, you’ll need to repair the Power Plants to get enough power for a Chronoshift. You can use the extra Engineer to capture a Silo and give yourself some additional funds.
Once the Chronosphere has charged a portion of the other island will be revealed to the West. Teleport your MCV there and build your base. The enemy base is located North-East. Build a sizable ground army and take out the base but be sure to capture the Research Center.
Spain – Grunyev Revolution
Mission: Destroy the civilians who have risen against you.
Follow the path North into the civilian town. Agent Delphi will emerge from a house and fire on your tanks but he should go down without too much fuss. The civilian who you’ll see next is carrying a nuclear device and will run into your units so try and keep them separated to minimize the damage. You can go ahead and destroy the town. You should now receive additional units to the North-East including an MCV to build your base. You can deploy right there as there is some Ore next to that location. Since you are fighting a rebellion, you’ll notice that the enemy has a mixture of Allied and Soviet units and structures.
Get some SAM Sites up early as you’ll be bombarded by enemy aircraft. There are no enemies in the water so don’t bother with a Sub Pen. Also, you don’t have access to the Spy Plane and the enemy bases have a lot of anti-air defenses so I wouldn’t bother with an Airfield either. The enemy has 2 bases, one located to the South-West and the other to the North-West. The Southern base is smaller but houses the Airfields that will be annoying you from early on. The Northern base is larger and more heavily defended. Once the bases have fallen, you’ll also need to destroy the civilian structures around the map. The main town is located West between the two bases.
Spain – Brothers in Arms
Mission: Infiltrate the compound with your Spies to investigate possible betrayal. If the rumors are true, return to your drop off point to signal for reinforcements and take care of the enemy presence.
Move your Spy North and slightly East into the compound. There’s a patrol with an Attack Dog that you should have passed. There’s another Attack Dog inside the base, keep your Spy away from the dogs to avoid being detected. When entering the base, you’ll see a conversation appearing in the info menu in the top left of your UI. Follow the units conversing into the Command Center while avoiding the Attack Dog.
A few moments later, you’ll be discovered and will need to flee. Move back to your drop off point to signal for reinforcements. Your reinforcements will arrive in 2 Transports but I had to retry this mission a few times because the second Transport containing my MCV got stuck in the water and didn’t unload.
Once your MCV arrives, move all your units to the West where you’ll find a large Ore field, you can start your base there. Don’t bother with Airfields as you can only build Yaks and won’t even be able to access the Spy Plane. Avoid the Tech Center as well because it doesn’t unlock anything in this mission. The enemy base has a lot of defenses at the entrance, this is where the fight will be. Once you’ve broken through those, nothing else will stand in your way.
Their base is spread across the map. The main base you’ve already discovered but past that is another small section to the North-East and a final few buildings to the South-East. Destroy everything.
Spain – Shock Therapy
Mission: Kill all civilians and Allies in the area.
The first town is to the South-West. On the way there, you’ll encounter a few Allied vehicles but they are no match for your Tesla Troops. There’s a lone building slightly East of that town, once destroyed you’ll find a blue crate to heal your troops.
Further East, just across the river is a small Allied base. There are 2 Pillboxes at the entrance and a few units inside but should pose no real threat to you. Destroy the Pillboxes to receive further reinforcements and steamroll over the base. Finally, head back the way you came to the North-West and you’ll find another small base to destroy, this base is even smaller than the one you just left. There’s another village in the North-East but leveling this isn’t necessary to complete the mission.
Spain – Situation Critical
Mission: Destroy the defenses on the island then use Volkov to get the scientist to the Bio-Research center. Volkov and the scientist must survive.
There is not a lot of time in this mission so be careful, but also quickly. Move your Submarines closer to shore to reveal the Tesla Coil and destroy it with your Missile Subs, take out the Power Plants surrounding the Tesla Coils as well. Proceed East but send your regular Submarines out front to kill any enemy Submarines you may encounter. There’s another Tesla Coil to the North-East and South-Eastern corners of the island. Once these have been eliminated, Volkov will be dropped on the Southern side of the island. Continue moving your subs around the island to destroy the Tesla Coils and their Power Plants.
Send Volkov and the scientist North-West until you find the path leading toward the Bio-Research Center. Be careful of the enemy soldiers patrolling the area, use Volkov to take them out. Once the coast is clear, send the scientist into the Bio-Research Center and send Volkov to destroy the 4 groups SAM Sites. When the final SAM Site is destroyed, Bombers will arrive to drop nukes on the weapons facilities. Be sure Volkov isn’t anywhere nearby when this happens.
Spain – Deus Ex Machina
Mission: Volkov has been captured, you must rescue him before the timer runs out. Destroy the 4 Radar Domes to reveal Volkov’s location then send a scientist in to rescue him. Send Volkov to a Transport Helicopter to evacuate him and complete the mission by destroying all Allied units and structures.
There’s a lot of Allied activity in this mission so you’ll need to keep your wits about you. Don’t worry too much about base defenses, you shouldn’t get attacked that often. You will need a Sub Pen though because there are numerous enemy ships in the waters. Some Missile Subs might come in handy as well.
Once you have a ground army ready, send them to the Allied base in the North-Eastern corner. You will pass a few Destroyers who will be able to fire on your troops so it might be wise to take them out first. The base isn’t very heavily defended and should fall easily. There’s a small pathway behind the ridge to the far East that will lead you to the first Radar Dome.
There are 2 more bases lined against the Northern border of the map. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to access them directly with your ground units so you can either build Transports to get your tanks across or use Missile Subs which should be quicker and easier. Just make sure you send your Submarines to clear the waters first as there are several Destroyers guarding the seas here.
Finally, move your ground forces to the far East and proceed South from there, continue along the path and you’ll find the final base. Do not destroy the War Factory here as this is where Volkov is hiding. If you do then he will be set loose upon your troops and he will kill everything. Destroy everything else in the base including the Radar Dome which will prompt scientists to arrive at your base. Send them into the War Factory to reprogram Volkov back to your side. Once he’s free, send him to the Transport Helicopter which should now be waiting in your base.
