Another week, another video released by the Official Pokémon Channel teasing yet more tidbits on the upcoming Pokémon Sun & Moon; this time commencing with the starter Pokémon‘s second forms seen above. Welcome to Dartrix, Torracat and Brionne, the evolved forms of Rowlet, Litten and Popplio respectively. Already, Dartrix‘s affinity with hair conditioner has garnered it fans on twitter, with a few users drawing comparisons to Miles Edgeworth and any and every man from the 90s. Each secondary evolution retains the same typing as their primary forms, and all enjoy being lovingly petted by their trainer in Pokémon Refresh. This is the recently revealed mode which is the successor to Pokémon Amie seen in Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.
Players are introduced to Festival Plaza, an area run by Trial Captain Sophocles, where you can complete missions given by other players you’ve wirelessly communicated with to receive festival coins. Coins can be used to purchase EV-influencing items, so Festival Plaza may be a useful resource for players wanting to attend the Pokémon Video Game Championships 2017 that just announced it’ll be Alola-native Pokémon only. The interaction and activities of Festival Plaza are reminiscent of the Wi-Fi Plaza from Pokémon Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver and the Dream World from Pokémon Black & White.
Furthermore, Poké Pelago comes along hailed as “a paradise for Pokémon in PC Boxes“. There will be several isles that’ll allow the Pokémon stored in the PC to attract wild Pokémon, search for valuable items and even increase their base stats and experience. The Alolan Day Care couple may need to consider a change of business.
Mirroring Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, the previously speculated Pokémon Sun & Moon demo was also confirmed, becoming available on October 18th. During the special demo players will be able to battle with a Greninja, the water shuriken-wielding frog ninja of Pokémon X & Y and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS. This Greninja will have the exclusive ability, Battle Bond, which, when you’ve knocked out an opponent, will allow Greninja to transform into Ash-Greninja. This is a unique Greninja form that somewhat adopts a resemblance to a certain Pokémon trainer often seen with a Pikachu on their shoulder, as watchers of Pokémon the Series: XYZ will know all about.
Similar to how players could transfer a Mega Glalie/Steelix from the Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire demo, Ash-Greninja can be transferred to the full Sun & Moon games when they launch on Nintendo 3DS on November 18th worldwide and November 23rd in Europe.
