Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Announced for Nintendo 3DS

The recent Pokémon Direct was shorter than a Rattata. And it had about as much bite as one too. Alongside the announcement of the quietly speculated Pokken Tournament DX for Nintendo Switch, we were also treated to the first look at the revised versions of Pokémon Sun & Moon. Players have been awaiting news of this kind for a while, so now they may finally stop looking to the stars.

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Announced for Nintendo 3DS
The Pokémon Company is giving players another chance to journey through the lush island locales of the Alola region. Pokémon Ultra Sun & Pokémon Ultra Moon are being released globally on November 17th 2017 for Nintendo 3DS; complete with new scenes, old legendaries (with new bits) and enough Pikachu to make Jessie & James happily retire.
Pokémon Sun & Moon producer & composer, Junichi Masuda, tells that the new titles will be an alternate story taking place in the same world. This could mean that Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon would be less like a sequel like Pokémon Black 2 & White 2, and more like a reimagining like Pokémon Crystal or Platinum. Furthermore, he also says they will feature Pokémon that didn’t appear in the original versions. Could he mean other Pokémon will inhabit Alola that are different to those found in Pokémon Sun & Moon? Or maybe Masuda-san is hinting at new Alolan versions of previous Pokémon? With very little information to go on, he may simply be referring to the altered versions of the Solgaleo & Lunala, who appear to be wearing parts of Necrozma like they’re going to Comic Con.

Pokémon Direct 6.6.2017

Also coming to Virtual Console are Pokémon Gold & Silver. Set in the Johto region, these were the second generation of Pokémon games to come out back in 1999. And although some will definitely prefer their Pokémon coated in more nostalgic pixels than a 144p Youtube video, trainers can bring Gold & Silver-captured Pokémon to the modern age through Pokémon Bank. Pokémon Bank is a subscription based cloud service that allows players to upload Pokémon to the bank so they may be transferred to the upcoming games, as well as Pokémon Sun, Moon, X, Y, Alpha Sapphire & Omega Ruby. Now your Sudowoodo can watch you try on a different pair of shorts in glorious 3D.
Pokémon Gold & Silver will be released on Virtual Console on September 22nd 2017, the same day as Pokken Tournament DX.

  1. That’s such a great news, I read this announcement few weeks ago. I am so excited for this to know what would be the new advancement made in the ultra version Pokemon Sun and Moon. I owe Pokemon Soleil( https://www.press-start.com/fr/1779-acheter-cle-nintendo-pokemon-sun/ ) console, which my brother gifted me on my birthday. We both play on it together whenever we get some time for playing.
