Call of Duty: Modern Warfare won’t be found in the PlayStation Store in Russia, according to Activision.
The Twitter account for Call of Duty in Russia stated that Sony Interactive Entertainment has decided not to sell Modern Warfare on the PlayStation store in Russia at this time. However, they also stated that the game will be available to get on battle.net and Xbox One despite this.
The content of the game, making Russians the antagonist, might be to blame here, however, this is not the first time that Russians have been the enemy in a Call of Duty game, and why is the PlayStation store the only one opting out of carrying the game, is still unclear.
We know that this game’s protagonist is the leader of the Urzikstan Liberation Force, battling against Russians, who have them branded terrorists along with the group Al-Qatala. No statements have been made thus far that would indicate whether or not this the reason behind this decision.
