Immortals Fenyx Rising's Release Date Leaked

It looks like Microsoft has done it again, as they’ve leaked the release date of Immortals Fenyx Rising on the game’s Microsoft Store page. Formerly titled Gods & Monsters, the game was scheduled to arrive earlier this year on February 25, but has been delayed (potentially due to COVID-19). The leak suggests that the game’s new release date is December 3, at least for Xbox One. Microsoft has leaked information about numerous games this way in the past, such as Star Wars: Squadrons and Crysis Remastered, and the information on these games seems to be accurate.

However, a new release date isn’t the only change coming to Ubisoft’s new IP. The store page for the game showcased the style changes coming with the name change, as the Ubisoft Quebec team has changed to a more realistic design for the game’s mythical setting. This may help the game avoid comparisons with Breath of the Wild, with which Immortals Fenyx Rising seems to have much in common.

Demigod Fenyx faces off against the mythical Cyclops

A brief description of the game was available on its Microsoft Store page. Players will set out as new demigod Fenyx to save the Greek gods. You’ll be able to use incredible powers and weapons to defeat monsters and beasts, while using Fenyx’s wings to strike from the air. Immortals Fenyx Rising is an open-world adventure, and the map will be divided into different areas; each will be inspired by the gods Fenyx has set out to save.

Ubisoft recently confirmed that Immortals Fenyx Rising will get a full re-reveal during the next Ubisoft Forward event. So, we’ll have to wait until then for confirmation of the release date. Hopefully, there will also be some new info on the game itself, as we’re eager to see what the game has in store. For now, we can only look back on E3 2019’s reveal of Gods & Monsters. Who knows what the redesign will be like?
