Immortals: Fenyx Rising – Skills & Godly Powers List

Here is a breakdown of all the skills and godly powers in Immortals: Fenyx Rising and which to unlock first. This is an essential guide for anyone looking to upgrade their playthrough of their Golden Isle adventure in the best way possible. Grab your sword, your axe and your flaming demon bird and let’s delve into the skill tree of Ubisoft’s ancient greece inspired odyssey.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising - Skills & Godly Powers

The world of Immortals: Fenyx Rising is jam-packed with mythical puzzles and ferocious creatures, with a new challenge waiting to test your ingenuity around every corner. Luckily, shortly after crashing onto land, your character, Fenyx, is given the opportunity to become greater than they are by upgrading their skillset throughout the course of their adventure.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising has 34 skills and 25 godly powers. A few are unlocked after the game’s prologue, but most are acquired with Coins of Charon which are awarded to Fenyx after completing in-game puzzles. The following list will explain each skill & godly power, and I’ll recommend which abilities to get sooner or later by marking them as either priority 1, 2 or 3, with ‘priority 1’ advising it should be acquired as soon as possible.

And if you’re looking for some general starting out tips, or looking to 100% the game, read some other guides on Immortals: Fenyx Rising.

Immortals Fenyx Rising Skills & Godly Powers Guide - Sword Attack on Harpies

Fenyx Leaping Towards A Harpy

Skills

Sword Combo
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
This is your basic 3-hit combo with Fenyx’s sword. Quick damage with a nice overhead finisher.

Stealth Attack
Unlock Requirement: 5 Coins
Priority: 2
Sneak up on an enemy before they notice you and deliver a powerful attack. This ability couples nicely with the Phosphor’s Cloak godly power mentioned later. Not essential, but a free hit with extra damage can be a nice bonus.

Power Strike Finisher
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 2
Adds an extra big finisher to the Sword Combo which interrupts some large enemies. Those who favour a more aggressive playstyle may seek this sooner that others.

Sword Air Combo
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
A basic 2-hit combo with the sword when Fenyx is mid-air.

Sword Launcher
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 3
A rising attack that lifts small enemies and Fenyx into the air. While this may look like the start to a Devil May Cry 50-hit combo, a lack of air options, stamina or the enemy’s health will make taking things into the air less entertaining than you might hope.

Immortals Fenyx Rising Skills & Godly Powers Guide - Fenyx Looking At Axe

Fenyx Admiring A Glorious Axe

Axe Combo
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
The basic 2-hit combo with Fenyx’s axe. This is power over speed, meaning you have a higher case of being interrupted by enemy attacks. However the axe is the only way to damage certain shielded enemies, and landing blows fills all enemies stun meter.

Axe Smash
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 3
A powerful slam with Fenyx’s axe that causes damage and makes enemies fly away. Good for giving you a bit of space to breath and another move that fills out Fenyx’s arsenal.

Power Spin Finisher
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 2
Adds an extra big finisher to the Axe Combo that makes Fenyx twirl around like a human-sized Beyblade. Those who favour a more aggressive playstyle may seek this sooner that others.

Axe Air Combo
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
A basic 2-hit combo with the Axe when Fenyx is mid-air.

Axe Cleave
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 3
An axe attack performed mid-air that brings a struck foe crashing to the ground and blows away any enemies near the impact radius on landing. Not the easiest to land, but can be satisfying if done.

Immortals Fenyx Rising Skills & Godly Powers Guide - Fenyx Drawing Bow

Fenyx Drawing their Bow on a Griffin

Bow Shots
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Fenyx’s trusty bow & arrow. The arrow supply works via a cooldown system with 1 arrow returning after a few seconds have passed. An essential tool in fighting airborne creatures and maintaining your combo meter with distanced enemies.

Marksman
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 3
Headshots are twice as powerful. Extra damage is great but unessential for a smooth playthrough.

Reflex Shot
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 3
Triggers slow motion bullet time when using your bow & arrow mid-air (such as during a single or double jump). Perfect for epic moments montage videos and generally feeling awesome. Not so necessary for your adventure through the Golden Isle.

Parry
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
One of Fenyx’s defensive options that rebounds physical and projectile attacks when triggered just before the incoming attacks land. When performed correctly this fills an enemy’s stun meter, but look out. If an incoming attack has a red glow, it cannot be parried.

Sword Counter Attack
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 2
A strong revenge attack with Fenyx’s sword after a successful parry. Those who tend to favour parrying during their play may want this sooner that others.

Axe Counter Attack
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 2
A strong revenge attack with Fenyx’s axe after a successful parry. Those who tend to favour parrying during their play may want this sooner that others.

Immortals Fenyx Rising Skills & Godly Powers Guide - Fenyx Leaping At Medusa

Winged Fenyx Advancing on Medusa

Jump
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Fenyx go up. I’d recommend going in the settings and changing ‘Long Jump Action’ from ‘Hold’ to ‘Press’. I’ve never come across a situation where I needed to short hop rather than a full jump.

Air Dodge
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 2
A mid-air strafe to avoid incoming attacks. Although this is noted as Priority 2, it’s highly recommended to get it earlier among that category. Given Fenyx’s limited mid-air options, more manoeuvrability is welcome. It’s come in very handy if you’ve been bashed off a high platform, and you can avoid falling to your doom with a last minute air dash back to solid ground.

Double Jump
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Fenyx go up. Again.

Sprint
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Gotta go fast.

Sword Sprint Attack
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 3
Follow up a sprint with a 2-hit spinning attack with your sword. If approach an unaware enemy, it’s generally better to go for the stealth attack. But if in a situation with multiple enemies spaced around you, a quick sprint into sword attack can be a nice way to get a bit of extra damage.

Axe Sprint Attack
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 3
Follow up a sprint with a huge baseball bat swing with the axe. Similar to the above, a stealth attack Is preferable but this can do a lot of sudden damage to a single foe if fighting a group of monsters.

Immortals Fenyx Rising: Official World Premiere Trailer | Ubisoft Forward 2020 | Ubisoft [NA]

Dodge
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Another of Fenyx’s defensive options that allows them to dash out the way of attacks up to 3 times in a row. When performed with the right timing, time will be slowed for a short while.

Sword Dodge Attack
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 2
A dash, then a slash. Those who tend to favour dodging during their play may want this sooner that others.

Axe Dodge Attack
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 2
After dodging you can launch a strong hit with your axe. When this lands on an enemy mid-air, Fenyx will rise higher (which can cause a few hits to miss if you’re just mashing the button). Those who tend to favour dodging during their play may want this sooner that others.

Enhanced Dodge
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 1
Increases the initial number of dodges from 3 to 5. During a first playthrough when you’re still learning enemy attack patterns, this is a great ability.

Climb
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Allows Fenyx to climb most vertical surfaces in the world of Immortals: Fenyx Rising, all except certain walls in Vaults of Tartaros.

Climb Leap
Unlock Requirement: 5 coins
Priority: 2
Gives you a short jump up vertical surfaces, consuming less stamina over time. However, plotting a route with strategic rest spots makes this less necessary than you’d initially think.

Immortals Fenyx Rising Skills & Godly Powers Guide - Fenyx Gliding

Fenyx Gliding Around The Golden Isle

Glide
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Is it flying? Or falling with style? Either way you’ll be traversing the world by gliding a lot. If you find yourself high up and want to get to the ground as quick as possible, you can do so two ways and avoid fall damage. Start free falling and press the glide button a split second before reaching the ground. Or hold the button and dive bomb straight down, letting go just before touchdown.

Glide Boost
Unlock Requirement: 2 coins
Priority: 1
Add speed to your glide by holding a button, and use less stamina over time. As you’ll be gliding very often, this is a very useful skill for getting to places quicker and squeezing more out of your stamina.

Swim
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Just because Fenyx’s ship crashed doesn’t mean they’re afraid to get back in the water.

Swim Dash
Unlock Requirement: 2 coins
Priority: 3
Leap forward when swimming. There isn’t a crazy number to puzzles and treasure that lay off-land so you won’t find yourself swimming too often.

Gathering
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
This is the ability to pick up stuff you find on the ground. Like the ancient greeks used to do.

Telekinesis Gathering
Unlock Requirement: 2 coins
Priority: 1
This ability lets Fenyx pick up a number of items in a small area. An incredibly useful time saving ability, as you’ll often items in clusters of 3-6. Make sure all the items are visible on screen when triggering it; if something is behind the camera or obscured by a fixture it won’t be picked up. Also allows items to be automatically collected when riding a horse or deer.

Immortals Fenyx Rising Skills & Godly Powers Guide - Gliding Through Vault With Lasers

Flying in a Vault of Tartaros With Lasers

Godly Powers

Athena’s Dash
Unlock Requirement: 6 coins
Priority: 2
A powerful bulldoze attack which propels Fenyx in the direction they’re facing. A semi-decent godly attack that can also be used multiple times mid-air to move horizontally.

Last Hit
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Athena’s Dash, 8 coins
Priority: 3
Add a final hit to Athena’s Dash, blasting enemies away. Not an incredibly useful ability since it would likely be preferable to keep surviving enemies in range of follow up sword or axe attacks.

Laser Immunity
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Last Hit, 10 coins
Priority: 2
Using Athena’s Dash lets Fenyx pass through deadly lasers unharmed. An incredibly useful ability that makes a number of the puzzles in Immortals: Fenyx Rising much easier to tackle.

Charged Athena’s Dash
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Athena’s Dash, 8 coins
Priority: 3
Adds more power and an AOE shockwave to Athena’s Dash. Not essential, only useful to those who prefer using this Godly Power in combat.

Improved Charged Athena’s Dash
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Charged Athena’s Dash, 10 coins
Priority: 3
Adds MORE power to Athena’s Dash and the AOE shockwave. Again, not essential. Only useful to those who prefer using this Godly Power in combat.

Herakles’s Strength
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Gives tiny little Fenyx the power to lift objects, arguably the most used skill in the game. Try throwing rocks, stone columns and fallen trees at enemies regularly for big damage and filled stun meter. It’s also possible to catch objects thrown at you. Herakle’s Strength can also sort of slingshot objects if you initiate the power and then let go of the buttons before you’ve caught the item, propelling the object in that direction.

Quick Throw
Unlock Requirement: 8 coins
Priority: 3
Let’s you chuck an item directly at a foe with a tap of a button. This skill is most useful in the midst of combat, but it’s very situational. Typically you’ll have enough time and space to charge your throw, like when you’re about to commit an ambush.

Heavy Lifting
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Quick Throw, 10 coins
Priority: 2
Allows lil Fenyx to lift the largest and heaviest boxes and rocks in the game. This skill is also very highly recommended in the priority 2 category as it’s an almost game-breaking useful skill. Several puzzles in Immortal: Fenyx Rising become much easier, and there are most likely more than a couple that require this skill outright.

Herakles’s Leap
Unlock Requirement: 8 coins
Priority: 1
Fenyx will be pulled towards an enemy (such as airborne creatures) ready to launch into an attack combo. This is an essential ability, being the best way to take the fight to monsters in the sky. It can be used repeatedly, allowing you to maintain combos without touching the ground.

Herakles’s Pull
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Herakles’s Leap, 10 coins
Priority: 3
An enemy will be pulled towards Fenyx. Once Herakles’s Leap has been obtained, you’ll have the tools to decide whether you want to fight on land or in the air. This skill feels like a slight reduction in capability.

Immortals Fenyx Rising Skills & Godly Powers Guide - Harpy Attack

Riding an Armored Horse Away From Harpies

Ares’s Wrath
Unlock Requirement: 6 coins
Priority: 1
Summons a small area of spears from below, dealing damage to foes and launching Fenyx into the air. This is a decent godly attack which can also be used multiple times mid-air to move upwards vertically, effectively giving you a 3rd or 4th jump if you have the stamina.

Multi-Hits
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Ares’s Wrath, 8 coins
Priority: 3
Deals more hits to enemies caught in Ares’s Wrath. Non-essential, but more damage is always a bonus.

Charged Ares’s Wrath
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Ares’s Wrath, 8 coins
Priority: 3
Adds more power and a wider AOE to Ares’s Wrath. Not essential, only useful to those who prefer using this Godly Power in combat.

Improved Charged Ares’s Wrath
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Charged Ares’s Wrath, 10 coins
Priority: 3
Adds MORE power to Ares’s Wrath and widens the AOE further. Again, not essential. Only useful to those who prefer using this Godly Power in combat.

Phosphor’s Attack
Unlock Requirement: Complete Bolt from the Blue sidequest
Priority: 1
After completing an optional sidequest, your pet bird will be able to launch three fire bolts at an enemy of your choosing. This is an extremely useful ability, giving Fenyx a projectile weapon that causes enemies to flinch.

Phosphor’s Shockwave
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Phosphor’s Attack, 8 coins
Priority: 3
Creates a mini explosion with every landed Phosphor attack, damaging any enemy caught in the blast radius. Non-essential, but more damage is always a bonus.

Phosphor’s Cloak
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Phosphor’s Attack, 8 coins
Priority: 1
Turns Fenyx invisible. The ability lasts until you run out of stamina, stand, jump, are detected, take damage or launch an attack. Tailor made for launching stealth attacks.

Phosphor’s Clone
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Phosphor’s Cloak, 10 coins
Priority: 2
This godly power creates a statue in Fenyx’s likeness which can be carried and placed to act as a weighted object. This comes highly recommended in the priority 2 category as it makes a number of the game’s puzzles so much easier it almost feels like cheating.

Immortals Fenyx Rising: Deep Dive Trailer | Ubisoft [NA]

Apollo’s Arrows
Unlock Requirement: Complete Prologue
Priority: N/A
Launch an arrow and guide it’s flight with your control stick (or mouse, or motion controls depending on your chosen platform). Time moves a little slower when using Apollo’s Arrows, giving you the opportunity to land multiple hits on enemies in a short space and time. Such as when they’re still walking towards you. Apollo’s Arrows are also key in the Odysseus Myth Challenges where you’ll have to guide an arrow through rings.

Precision Control
Unlock Requirement: 8 coins
Priority: 2
Gives you the ability to speed up or slow down Apollo’s Arrow. The extra bit of control can prove helpful. Generally speaking, most (if not all) puzzles can be completed with the arrow’s default speed.

Explosive Headshots
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Precision Control, 10 coins
Priority: 3
Placing an Apollo arrow right between the eyes causes an explosion which hits any creature caught in the blast radius. Depending on your stats this could cause more damage to others than to the monster that was hit by the arrow in the first place!

Hephaistos’s Hammer
Unlock Requirement: 6 coins
Priority: 2
Crack the earth with a massive slam of a mythic hammer that’ll knock everyone and everything away. This can be used in mid-air, bringing Fenyx straight down to the ground with a bang. When used on an object that doesn’t break easily (like balls in Vaults of Tartaros) it will launch them forward.

Forward Shockwave
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Hephaistos’s Hammer, 8 coins
Priority: 3
Adds a rippling shockwave that moves outward in the direction of Fenyx’s hammer slam. Not an essential skill since it requires multiple ground-based enemies to be lined up in the same direction to be useful.

Charged Hephaistos’s Hammer
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Hephaistos’s Hammer, 8 coins
Priority: 2
Adds more power to Hephaistos’s Hammer and changes the attack to an upward swing. As an offensive move this upgrade would only be useful to those who prefer using this Godly Power in combat. It’s important to note however, when used on an object that doesn’t break easily (like balls in Vaults of Tartaros) it will launch them upward.

Improved Charged Hephaistos’s Hammer
Unlock Requirement: Unlock Charged Hephaistos’s Hammer, 10 coins
Priority: 3
Adds MORE power and knockback to the upward striking Hephaistos’s Hammer. Again, not essential. Only useful to those who prefer using this Godly Power in combat.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising is currently available on all platforms. Players can also enjoy three DLC packs, either individually or part of a season pass.
