The folks over at Nintendo have revealed today at Nintendo Direct that we’ll be getting an update adding new roles to Among Us. The best part? The update will be rolling out later today – the 18th of June! Talk about quick service! The roles revealed so far include:
Tracker: With this crewmate role, you’ll be able to view a crewmate’s location on your map by placing a tracking device on them. While you could be a team player, you also have the opportunity to be sly and sacrifice your teammate to pinpoint the location of the killer! Keep in mind, though, that the tracking device only functions for a limited time before deactivating.
Noisemaker: If you’re going down, you might as well take down the killer with you! Sort of, at least. With this role, your character will send out an alert once the killer eliminates you, drawing your crewmates to your location. This is indicated by a red glaring indicator on your screen; you really can’t miss it.
Phantom: This impostor role allows you to turn invisible for a short while when taking out enemies, making a quick escape possible. Perfect for making your way out of one-door rooms or when the whole crew starts rushing towards you!
That isn’t all, though; update v2024.6.18 is also bringing a change to the interface. More specifically, we’re talking about a major overhaul to the aesthetics of the settings menu. If you’re the host, you’ll be able to access three different tabs, namely Game Presets, Game Settings, and Roles Settings. These can then be observed by your crewmates through the ‘View’ button.
That just about covers the major stuff from the Among Us free update. Be sure to download it when it releases for the Nintendo Switch later today.
