Innersloth and PlayStation announced during the latest PlayStation State of Play that the hit social deception game Among Us will be making its way to PlayStation consoles in 2021.
A trailer debuted during the event that showed some mostly familiar clips of gameplay but still had one surprise in store: Some PlayStation-exclusive cosmetics based on Ratchet & Clank.
This news follows Among Us’ arrival on the Nintendo Switch in December 2020, where it sold millions within weeks. The game is also planned to hit Xbox consoles later this year as part of Xbox Game Pass.
Among Us is a social deception game where an alien imposter infiltrates the ranks of a group of astronauts. The crew of astronauts must work together to figure out who the imposter is, while the imposter tries to covertly pick the humans off. The game was first released in 2018 on mobile devices and PC, but Among Us saw unprecedented success during the COVID-19 pandemic, in large part due to its social aspect.
Its popularity amongst live-streamers also helped boost Among Us to stardom; at the time of writing, nearly ten million people follow the Among Us category on Twitch. To this day, the game remains popular, and this latest news seems to indicate that it’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
