If you’ve made a mistake with your stat allocation or skill tree choices, don’t worry — Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon gives you several chances to respec your character. Here’s where to find Potion of Origin items and how they work.

What Is a Potion of Origin?

Potion of Origin is the only known item that allows you to reset all stats and skills. It returns every point spent, letting you rebuild your character from scratch. Ideal for testing new builds or fixing early mistakes.

Where to Find Respec Potions:

You can find a few Potions of Origin early in the game

  • Right at the first location in the prison of Island Asylum, as you move through the large room and before encountering Conchur, there’s a cell containing the Potion of Origin. Simply unlock it to get the item.
  • Sunken Village: Go to the Sunken village, turn left, swim around the rock, and walk the the very end of the cave. You can also go to the village behind the fort, more right, and you get to the same place. Loot a Fallen Keeper corpse to get one more Potion of Origin.

  • Doctor Jann in the Fort: Can sell a Potion of Origin for 1500.
  • Another is in the Crypt under the fort. You can get there during the quest All Along the Watchtower. You must talk to Gobá in the village and then to the Quartermaster in the fort to get the key to the Crypt. Then go three floors down and it’s in the corner cell next to the stairs. There is an attacking slime on the floor.

How to Use Potions of Origin

Use them from your inventory screen. It will instantly return every point from attributes and skill trees. There’s no cooldown or confirmation beyond the item usage itself, so make sure you’re ready before activating it.

Pro Tip:

Don’t hoard them. You get several over the course of the game, and most builds can be rebuilt again later. Experimenting early is encouraged, especially when testing new spells, weapon types, or crafting paths.
