Resident Evil 4: How to Open the Second Floor Door in the Village Chief’s Manor

At the very end of Chapter 2, you will enter the Village Chief’s Manor after fighting a few enemies and one chainsaw guy. At this point, you will need to open the door on the second floor to find an important key to keep progressing in the game. There is a book in the hallway that leads to the aforementioned door which is very important to be able to open it. You can read it here or in the screenshot below:

“In great veneration of their master, the people offered up their most prized possessions. The old farmer, his finest crop. The slight swineherd, his stoutest pig. The beggarly grandam, her own beloved babe“.

Getting the Crystal Marble

Now that you’ve read the note above, you can open the locked closet on the first floor. Right behind the dining room, you will find the closet. You need to input the correct combination here to open it. Based on the highlighted words of the book you read on the second floor, the combination is the following: Crop, Pig, and Baby.

Opening the Door

Be careful, you will encounter an enemy as soon as you try to leave the dining room. Deal with him and then you can go upstairs to use the crystal marble on the door. There is one more thing you need to do before opening the door, and that is to put the crystal marble in the correct position.

As soon as you use the crystal marble on the door, you will notice that you can freely rotate it. The objective here is to rearrange the dots scattered inside the crystal marble to assemble the Los Iluminados symbol. The symbol you’re trying to assemble here is the one that is behind the crystal marble, so you can use it as a reference while you’re trying to accomplish this.
