It looks like Crash Bandicoot 4 multiplayer is something players will enjoy when it releases on October 2. Earlier, IGN Spain published an article outlining local multiplayer elements in Crash 4. Apparently, the game will feature both competitive and cooperative multiplayer. While IGN Spain took the article down, it has since been put up on IGN.
The co-op multiplayer mode is called “Pass N. Play”. This mode lets up to 4 players take on a level from Crash 4 together. Friends can work with each other to take on regular levels, or the N. Verted mode, which changes things up in each level. As the title suggests, players in this co-op mode share a controller, rather than playing at the same time.
There are two competitive modes for Crash Bandicoot 4 multiplayer. In either mode, four players can battle it out as Crash, Coco, Fake Crash and Fake Coco. When playing “Checkpoint Race”, you race to the end of the level while also hitting checkpoint boxes along the way. In “Crate Combo”, each crate you smash will give you points. Hitting a crate increases your meter and makes the next crate more valuable, allowing players to rack up huge scores for getting crates quickly. However, if your meter runs down, crates will lose their value. Your run ends when you either make it to the next checkpoint or die, so keeping your foot on the gas and speeding through is the best way to play.
Both of these new modes should give players a new way to test their platforming skills. Check out the newest gameplay of these multiplayer below.
