The world’s most beloved Bandicoot is finally back, and according to critics, he’s just as boisterous as ever. The review embargo has officially been lifted and our legendary marsupial of mischief’s latest adventure seems to be a hit with critics. There is always a worry that when a nostalgic franchise gets its first new entry in years it doesn’t meet its lofty expectations. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time’s reviews would indicate that ‘good’ could be an understatement.
As you can see already, the meta-based system has Crash Bandicoot 4 at a solid 86 on the PS4, a welcome sight for any nervous bandicoot believers. The game in particular is receiving adulation for its difficult platforming – a staple of the originals – and its inventiveness and originality.
Crash’s resurgence has been helped by the remasters the game has received in the last few years with the N.Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled revitalizing a seemingly lost franchise. Crash Bandicoot 4 is a proper sequel to the original trio of games released on the PlayStation 1 and is being developed by Toys For Bob. The game features over 100 levels and sees Crash battling his long-time nemesis’ once again in a bid to save the world. Who knows, if Crash Bandicoot 4’s early reviews are good enough, then we may be seeing the genesis of the continuation of Crash.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time! will be available to buy from October 2nd on PS4 and Xbox.
