Before looking at this month’s free games on the Amazon Prime Gaming service, it’s worth noting that you should be a Prime member to benefit from this campaign.
Here is the Amazon Prime Gaming October 2022 free games:
Fallout 76
Without a doubt, Fallout 76 is the most striking game of this month’s free games selection on Amazon. Set in a post-apocalyptic universe, Fallout 76 offers a top-class RPG experience. Besides being the latest game released by Bethesda lately, the game has mostly positive reviews on Steam.
Speaking of Fallout 76, the game is about to get one of its biggest updates with the release of Season 10, named Red Rocket Presents: The City of Steel! Fallout 76 players will discover post-nuclear Pittsburgh as well as another city full of rewards. So, while Fallout 76 is still active, you can enjoy the game by getting it for free on Amazon Prime Gaming.
Total War: Warhammer II
Developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA in 2017, Total War: Warhammer II is another AAA title given away by Amazon Prime Gaming for free. It is a turn-based strategy game with real-time tactics elements, and the game is set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe.
As a reminder, the game was far away from being a good Warhammer game at launch. There were some annoying features, like only four playable factions and an underwhelming Vortex campaign. After the Mortal Empires was released, Warhammer II became a completely different game. Today, we can easily say that Total War: Warhammer II is a near-perfect grand strategy game with thousands of hours worth of content, especially when you have both Warhammer I and Warhammer II.
Amazon offers its Prime members to enjoy both of these games. Additionally, if you consider buying the 2022-released third game of the series, Total War: Warhammer 3, you shouldn’t miss the chance to get the predecessors of this new entry for free.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is the sequel to a 2014 released Middle-earth: Mordor, which was given away by Amazon Prime Gaming for free in September. Like its predecessor, Middle-earth: Shadow of War is a game that has proven its quality in terms of story and game mechanics it has.
Middle-earth games are at the top of the list of the games set in the Lord of the Ring universe. Besides having unique mechanics, called The Nemesis System, they stand in front with creative storylines. Middle-earth: Shadow of War continues the story of Talion and Celebrimbor and features epic-scale battles in which the player commands their own orc army in an attempt to defeat Sauron before he reclaims power.
Glass Masquerade: Origins
Glass Masquerade: Origins is an indie game where you try to solve puzzles. In this game, you must combine hidden glass pieces to unveil clocks and themes exhibited by various cultures. While you are relaxing by solving puzzles, you can discover many arts from different cultures of the world.
The game offers 3 to 4 hours of gameplay and an opportunity to explore the arts of 25 different countries. So, if you like to spend your time and relax playing a puzzle game, you should look at this overwhelmingly positive reviewed game.
LOOM
LOOM is a Lucasfilm Games-published fantasy-themed graphic adventure game released in 1990. It was the fourth game to use the SCUMM adventure game engine, also developed by Lucasfilm Games (LucasArts).
In this lyrical fantasy set in the Age of the Great Guilds, you play the role of Bobbin, the last member of the Weavers Guild. You use a magic staff to write spells that will fix the way life works before Chaos takes over. So, if you are looking for some pixel-art adventure with a decent storyline, you shouldn’t miss the chance to get LOOM for free.
Hero’s Hour
Created by indie game developer Benjamin Hauer, Hero’s Hour is a fast turn-based real-time strategy RPG released in early 2022. The game is clearly inspired by one of the greatest strategy games of all time, Heroes of Might and Magic III. Similar to the inspired game HoMM, the game features heroes you can control to recruit armies, explore the map, gather resources, and engage in real-time strategic combat.
Thanks to its strategic map that is large enough for a small game and battle scenes that are entertaining to watch tiny creatures clash with each other, Hero’s Hour is an enjoyable indie game for turn-based strategy fans.
Horace
The best platformer of 2019! Horace was developed by British indie game developers Paul Helman and Sean Scaplehorn over more than seven years. But, at the end of this period, a wonderful platformer game had emerged with nostalgic pop-culture references, which brings a smile to any gamer who enjoys the 8 and 16-bit era.
The game has a perfect storyline where a small robot learns of life, the universe, and Douglas Adams. You’ll control this sentient robot, who is adopted by a wealthy British family. After a period of dormancy, you’ll be reactivated and finds yourself searching for a sense of purpose in a war-torn post-apocalyptic world.
